There is good information on line about the different tiered visas. I just downloaded a 55 page reference about it. I can tell you other countries have rules!! You can also type in real estate info and get a feel for the areas your considering and lots of nice videos that take you many places, including foods specific to Scotland...everything looked good!

😂 😂 @ the 2 seasons part! I'm actually moving there in Dec/Jan with my 3 kids. We've lived in Cape Town, South Africa before. I'd say the weather is pretty much the same. Does it snow?
@@GeeThamae the climate in winter is mostly cool & damp, but it can get very cold. For some reason, it's not usually until January, February that there's snow. But as Glasgow's Billy Connolly said: "There's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing."
We moved our family from southern CA to Berlin in summer of 2015 with two teenagers and two large dogs - flying the dogs was definitely the most stressful aspect but we survived - we had to move back in summer of 2017 due to other family circumstances but we really loved our time in Germany and got to travel - absolutely adore Edinburgh! I'm an American living in San Diego, California trying desperately to find a way to legally move to Scotland, specifically Edinburgh. The more research I do, the more I'm finding it to be very difficult, if not nearly impossible,...at least legally. I was hoping you'd have explained what you did to make it happen in your video. But, unfortunately, that information was missing. Any recommendations/advice/ suggestions are greatly appreciated. Congrats on the move! 👍
@Norrin J. Powell if you can afford to study, take out student loans, or can get a job offer willing to sponsor a Visa, you'll be fine. Visitors can stay with only passports for 6 months. It's all on their site.

Me and my family are seriously thinking about a move to Scotland but I am 39 with a few health issues. It's a beautiful country and very safe place to live. I really wouldn't even know where to start looking for work or a place to live. Maybe me and my wife will visit in the future and decide if it's the right thing for us.

You chose a real good airline to cross the Atlantic. KLM are my favourite airline, very friendly staff, clean and spacious aircraft and a very easy to use Amsterdam Schiphol airport. You made a real good choice in KLM.
I only watched one previous video of yours and then saw the thumbnail for this one. The last clip where your partner is walking down the street with the twins is the street I grew up on. I wonder if you still live there since it’s about 50 mins or so from Seamill in the last clip.
Is it the clip where they were walking down the street in Greenock? When we moved here we had to do the 2 week quarantine because of Covid; we got an airbnb in greenock for the quarantine and until we found the house that we moved into in Ayrshire!

Coal mines are gone, Steel mills are gone, oil is almost stopped, fishing is limited, shipyards are limited, claims of endless money from renewables are false - jobs are 3 - 5 years at most then what? But the money will still go to Government, to vanish in some money pit ( Scottish parliament building ).

Thank you! We joined some expat groups for information, and had some experience from when we previously brought them to the UK and back in 2017. Of course we also checked the UK government website for the most up to date information, but unfortunately since the Brexit transition period has ended now, our process may be completely different than it will be going forward.

Since when did they allow you to enter UK without quarantining your 2 cats? In the 70’s we had a 6 month quarantine for our dog? I’m glad you didn’t, but surprised they lifted the quarantine ?
I ask because I live in Florida and I keep playing with the idea of moving to Scotland,I use a wheelchair as I broke my ankle in 4 places previously.I also have a cat ,a couple dogs
I'm quite late to this video but I have a big question about my cats that no one seems to be able to answer. When you ferried over from Amsterdam, did you still have to quarantine your cats for many months? I am very concerned about this possibility as one of my cats has severe anxiety and it badly affects his health. I am afraid a quarantine of that long would affect him badly. Where do the cats go to bathroom during such a long trip. Do they count a Service Dog as a Pet which is not counted as pet in U. S or Canada but as medical equipment.
Remember the word jobby means excellent in Scotland so next time you’re at a resteraunt tell them the food was really jobby. They’ll really appreciate you using the local dialect. Jobby on brother.
