Rewording the leq and dbq questions into normal words and not collegeboard yapanese also helps. it’s easier to comprehend and think of arguments when you don’t have to take 2 minutes to mentally process the question. Like for “evaluate the extent to which economic growth led to changes in US society from 1940-70” is just asking you how consumerism post-depression changed America Edit: took the exam today!! I’ll come back in July with my score, very confident in a 4 or 5😈🔥 Edit July 8: RAAAA I GOT A 5 🦅🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Use college board, if not try finding practice sheets online and time yourself ( I don't know I think 1 min per question of 55?) Stay focus tbh and just don't waste time
this year is supposedly waaay easier. like the rubric got changed (prior years were ass + we are all severely brainrotted) sourcing a minimum of 4 can get you the point IIRC edit: i said the wrong thing abt docs
Last year I got a 4 on the AP World History exam after barely paying attention in class, not doing any book notes, and generally cheating on most assignments. I can vouch that Heimler single handedly saved my grade on that exam. I just hope it goes well again tomorrow with the APUSH exam.
i havent taken the exam yet, but something that imo is rly useful for studying and knowing what to write on the saq, dbq, and leq is looking specifically at past frq's and how many points each student answer got. read through each one and also notice how they answer the prompts (the answers that get a lot of points). every year the essays are insanely similar so if u know the general format all u gotta do is fill in the blanks which is just ur knowledge. also understand the rubrics bc even if u cant come up with much, on the leq for instance u can get 3 points by just writing some context, writing a mediocre thesis, and defining two examples.
For the SAQ I reccomend writing around 4-6 sentences if you have enough time and just remember to just state ur claim, give reasoning, and then give specific examples!!
For anyone else lurking here the night before the exam (or maybe even morning of): DO NOT USE GENERAL STATEMENTS. This is the thing I'm the worst at in the class and it's basically don't just say that the federal government expanded its power during the mentioned time period, because that statement can be applied to every single period. Make sure your thesis is period specific!!!
i agree about Heimler. Ive been watching his livestreams nightly.. and listening to him in most of my spare time! He's like the 2nd best Goat behind you of
watched a lot of Heimler during the course, started doing practice exams and wriitng practice essays 2 weeks prior to the exam this year, then reviewed watching Jocz productions videos, honestly feel like I cooked on my essays.
I agree, it’s much better to space out your studying. But if you really don’t have time, watching his videos can give a brief overview of units, so even if you don’t know every single detail, he emphasizes the most important details/buzzwords to remember😁
yeah. if u have just started studying now, ur best bet is just watching some unit videos and checking out some practice frq's. pointless to try and cram rn since nothing is gonna stick and ur just going to stress yourself out even more especially for an exam that doesn't rly matter
I have been preparing for the exam since april but there are still a few key areas that I struggle in and I feel like your video gave the the guidance I needed to lock in and get that 5.
Ngl, that was the easiest AP exam I've taken👌 (I've only taken the World History and Psychology ones, which I got 4s on both). I'm hoping for a 5 or a high 4 Now I gotta prepare for the Calc AB and Lang exams😭😭
Btw a quick tip for DBQs they changed the scoring recently so you can get a 7 if you use all 7 docs and do HIPP for 4 of them so if u can use all 7 docs
I started studying on Sunday and cranked out units 1,2,3,4,5 in 12 hours and took so many notes and I just finished unit 9 tonight and on my note document, I have 72 pages worth of notesz
Categorizing buzzwords definitely helped me remember them more easily(time periods and topics of prompts like: culture, technology, military, economy, etc) if you have at least a few strong buzzwords for these categories, when you look at prompts, try to see what category/time period they fit in.
