- Enjoy this sweet tutorial on how to make the Honeycomb & Bees polymer clay slab earrings. In the video you will see how to create the honeycomb structure without any mold, only with help of hex key, which you probably have at home somewhere.
Beside that, you will also see how the flowers are modelled and of course THE BEES! The bees are the main focus of this video, so you will see lots of details. Sometimes people do not want or cannot buy the texture mats, so this is an easy way to make it ☺️ some other people already mentioned here in the comments that they have some rubber oven gloves or a heat mat? with exactly this texture and that they are going to use them for this project ☺️

So adorable and such intricate work! The only suggestion I would make is that I would have made the first honeycomb out of trash clay, baked that honeycomb slab and made a reverse slab as a press to make more honeycombs in the future.

What colors are you using? Fantastic work!
Hi Sara, thank you! The base is Fimo professional ochre colour, then there is black and white. Remaining lighter yellow, green and light blue are mixed, unfortunately we did not take any notes on these mixes.

Thank you Carly, this is polymer clay from Fimo, the base colour is “Ochre”. There are also other good quality polymer clays like Sculpey, Cernit etc :)

I'm new so I have a doubt: after baking the pieces, they turn smaller?
Hi Mariane, thank you! The pieces get a very tiny bit smaller, yes, but it’s almost invisible. You can see it, for example when you bake clay in a metal pendant setting that it shrinks by 0,1mm. When starting, you do not have to be bothered by this, at most of the projects this does not play any role ☺️

Thank you Tina! Each polymer clay package has baking instructions directly on the package, the time is mostly 30 minutes and the temperature may vary, so the best is to check what the brand says :)

Hi! If you want your earrings shiny, you need to apply gloss varnish- you can find this product also among good polymer clay producers like Fimo ☺️

Hi Nancy, the base is Ochre from Fimo, then basic yellow, white & black. The green and light blue are custom mixed.
