    Hello!! I have not seen any of your videos pop up lately! Missed you! I will choose HYBRID (love that name) cuz it describes the mess I must deal with very soon. But I have finally got my basement apartment painted!!! Yahoo! Very light Blue in Bathroom, Cream with White Trim in the Main Room (kitchen/dining/living areas) Master Bedroom I left the light yellow wallpaper (it’s kinda on trend) Second Bedroom Sage! It’s so much cleaner now and the wood floors pop now. But I have to take all my decorations (or what my family calls junk) and place them around. Love your work!! Thanks 🙏 for your input over time!

    Thank you for this awesome video! I realized the theme is one of those I asked about recently. It's so nice of you to answer to all our concerns. Thanks! I definitely love the hybrid style as I love colors and can't see myself living in neutrals. I'll rewatch your video on how to mix different style to learn more on hybrid styles.
    I have another question/maybe theme for a video but how to add a supplementary bed in a flat?
    My sister opted for a good convertible sofa (the type with real mattress inside) but those sofa tend to be bulky and only rectangular (I searched but couldn't find a round shaped or a sofa with curve that was a convertible).
    I also saw that Murphy bed exist but they have to be made a certain way to blend them in the decor and make it look like it's the wall and that we're not loosing space (maybe painting them the same colour as the wall can be a solution).
    There's also Murphy commode that are smaller and better for guest bed.
    Another thing that I found was a hidden compartment for a bed. In the french AD website there were the redesign of a ''smaller'' flat and the designer made a bed under the bed in the bedroom and that bed opens up in the living room. It's like a hidden bed that is stock under the bed in the bedroom. I don't know if I'm clear but I'll try to find the link to the article and post it here.
    Maybe you know (or anyone in the comment know) of another solution.
    But in general, convertible furniture seems to be a great solution for small spaces but it's hard to find and hard to even know what exist in the market so I would love a video on convertible beds, coffee table, desk, etc...

    I only have issue with color selections. I like black, grey and brown, but I have a small space. Is there a way to stick with these dark colors without completely making it claustrophobic? I'm comfortable with these colors but looking to maximize the look.

    Hi Zahira, thank you for this video! It's fitting for my current situation and style. What do you think of these vertical fluted wooden surfaces? Do you think they are a trend only or will they be timeless? I'm thinking of doing my upper kitchen cabinets like that.

    • @DSigners

      Hi Anny! Glad to see you here! Well, I love the fluted wooden surfaces too; it’s a trend that comes and goes or is most used in specific periods; however, if you really like it and not because it’s a trend; it goes well with your interior design style, why not? Use it and enjoy it!

    Yes, white wall color reflects light and makes a room brighter, but it is not a realistic color for furniture or other furnishings for homes that are actually lived in; and it is a jarring contrast for large darker colored furnishings like a sofa or curtains/drapes, which are a necessity for homes that are occupied, especially if you have pets or children.

    • @susa5846
      @susa5846 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can opt for special fabrics or (faux) leather. We have a kid and a white faux leather sofa with storage, we live everyday in our home... Today that is no problem. You may not like the advice but it's possible and helps with small homes.

    Minimalist style does not fit small spaces. You show one enormous room with 3 huge windows, and call it a small space? Where do you keep your book? And I don't mean FORD books for coffee table, I mean books that you actually read and not buy for decor. Where do you keep your winter coats? Or vacuum cleaner? I lost interest after realizing you have no idea of what a small space is.

    • @susa5846
      @susa5846 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you realize minimalism means less stuff? Your comment says: small amounts of stuff does not fit in small spaces, but larger amounts do. Which is kind of funny but doesn't make sense.
      In small spaces the only thing which really helps is thinking of what *really* matters to you, what you *really* need and let go of everything else. If you want a home with style you can't put everything you could have in a bigger place there. The smaller it is the less stuff you need to make it look good. Design can't work in a cluttered home. That's what Zahira suggests: less is sometimes more.
      I love books, too. But if there is no room for hundrets of books, none can do a wonder. You can only have what fits in your home. We solved it with a great bookshelf in the livingroom over a whole wall... So we don't need bookshelfs in our little bedroom or the kids room. We have a small sofa with storage and much closed storage. A small colour palette helps, too.
      You need to adapt the ideas to your own possibilities, everyone else needs to do that, too.
      Of course Zahira shows what is small in her opinion *and* looks georgeous from a designers perspective. She doesn't want to show us any possible small room but how it could look like when you work with different design rules. And those rules work in small spaces, you can see it in different videos like "never too small". What doesn't work is having too much stuff.
