Thanks for the video instruction. Is there a reason to use the white/cream colored Poly-Flo filter material vs. the black, as the black is UV stabilized? Also, how much flotation foam per square foot of Poly-Flo filter material?

I built a floating wetland using this video. THANK YOU! I posted photos on my instagram found here:

I unfortunately followed the directions on the can for the marine foam. Mix only for 12 seconds NOT 45 seconds as instructed on the can. After 45 seconds it was too thick to pour through the poly fiber. I ended up with too much foam and the island wasn’t sitting deep enough in water. I ended up having to gut the top of the poly fiber so i could add more weight (soil, plants). It ended up working out and I’ll be checking on the island tomorrow. Hopefully it’s not at the bottom of the pond. ha

But aren't the roots supposed to be in direct contact with the water? O:

the system needs some time to establish = plants grow roots and bacteria grows.

U can use alocasia, colocasia, canna, etc. Try to observe what plants grow in wetlands around you.. I wetlands have salty waters then u can use any type of mangrove tree.
