The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday took over the probe into the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam and dispatched its teams to several states for investigation. Meanwhile, the Economic Offenses Unit of the Bihar Police arrested five people in the NEET paper leak case. A total of 18 people have been arrested so far in the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath as a Lok Sabha MP during the Parliament session 2024. The Prime Minister took oath amid ‘Modi, Modi’ chants in the background, likely by BJP MPs. PM Modi retained his Varanasi seat for the third consecutive time, albeit with a reduced margin. The BJP-led NDA returned to power for a historic third time earlier this month. The opposition INDIA bloc led by Congress, however, managed to drag BJP below the majority mark of 272 seats in a result that left political pundits both surprised and shocked.
