      Sporty's I've always had very short suspension... That's why I sold my first sporty and bought my first big twin. When this engine or when HD releases a bigger version of this engine into one of their full size bikes the result will be a AMAZING BIKE with plush suspension!

    If they put two discs up front people would complain that they can’t see the wheel. It looks much better with only one and as long as it stops the bike, that’s the way to go.

    • @dziamacz
      @dziamacz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep it looks great and maybe it sufficient, but if you push hard 240kg wet bike you can easly overheat these one disc unfortunetely :/

      I'm sure, that when the 2nd generation
      Sportster S is released, it will probably have Brembo dual disk brakes in front. Longer travel shocks!
      A displacement increase to 1500cc.
      What else would I like?
      An abundance of aftermarket performance parts!
      How about a sport fairing?
      Naw!
      What about you? What would you like, to be added?

    Looking to get my first bike. Never even looked at Harley until now, but I’m falling in love with this bike. Japanese bikes always looked and felt so cheap and plasticky to me, so this is right up my alley. Man, this and the FTR S Indian bike are both sexy. Plus of course Triumph, bmw and the Ducati scramblers. Old school with a blend of the new (fast and sporty).. choices, choices 🤔

    I’d look at replacing those bars for traffic filtering and that standard tank with a Pan American tank to give the bike some decent range. The windshield sounds like a good idea.

    • @ronlheureux7623
      @ronlheureux7623 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would completely destroy the bikes esthetics? Besides, that a huge assumption the the tank would even fit.

    • @MrAndrew1953
      @MrAndrew1953 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ronlheureux7623 Actually I've been told by Harley people who made a video / review it would fit with only very little, if any changes. People were fitting 3.5 gallon tanks to Custom version of the previous model Sportsters.

    About those who don’t like the new technology for HD, I ask What happened to Porche when they kept developing the technology for their car’s? And I hope the same will happen to HD. I have a 2004 RK and in 2020 purchased a RGS and there is no comparison what so ever and don’t get me wrong I STILL love my RK but the RG is way better in every way,breaks, handling, smoothness of the engine just to name a few. I can only imagine if H-D would come out with a RG with this level of technology. BTW my wife also traded her Breakout for a RGS and she absolutely loves it. We thought we wouldn’t need a new bike after this BUT if HD comes out with something like this or the PanAm I think we will go for the new technology. Good job reporting, I also liked the report you did for the PanAm.Danke👍

    I'm very opened mined about the new Sportster S as well I want one! I think they look bad ass too! And Black hell yes the Black is the one ! Although I would probably go for the mid controls and changeup the pipes to 2 into 1 low slung exhaust . I got to test ride one of these !

  • @oust556
    @oust556 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I'm really happy to see that you can stand strait up with the mid controls. (end of video)
    That is one of the most necessary features of a moto that I would own.
    This is also the best looking Harleys ever made and the Pan's engine and clutch are butter smooth.
    Sportster S has everything the 2021 Ducati Monster has except for the quick shifter
    New Monster has everything the 2021 Sportster S has except for cruise control
    Guess it's too much to ask to have it all lol

    Harley Davidson is going in a new direction with this new revolution max T engine, also liquid cooling is something that v twins have been missing out on for decades. HD has stepped into the Cadillac smooth riding arena where old schoolers and old MC clubs don’t dictate the direction, after this there is no way Harley can go back.
    The days of those hot air cooled engines are over as the days of a huge shift clunk and a huge problematic primary chain rotating in oil.

    • @omarsalgado9715
      @omarsalgado9715 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When Japanese bikes took over in the 80s, people said that was the doomsday for H-D. 40 years later, air cooled V-Twins still exist. No doubt they will be here for a long time still.

    I think the reduction to 228kg attracts a lot of people, who are scary about heavier bikes. The only question for me is, why they don't go below 90 db of noise, because I am afraid, that more strict regulatins could be possible in the future. You see it in some frequently used roads in Tyrol / Austria. Bikers who bought a Rocket or a Ducati from their honest and with hard work earned money, where ditched from these aerea.
    Only a reminder: In 1983 a Honda CX 500 C had 79 dB in the papers. Nowadays more than 50 years after the first landing on the moon, the industry is not able to produce lower noise emissions, straight out of the official version of a bike ?

    Nice review Juliane. The thing that lets this bike down is the lack of suspension travel. 51mm on the rear is just a joke. It's going to crash over rough roads as you found out. I would change the rear shock for one with more travel if I bought one but you should not have too. Harley dropped the ball with this. Ride safe.

    Okay... ich muss sagen, dass ich zb von der Fat Bob und dem polarisierenden Design recht angetan und von der Fahrbarkeit positiv überrascht war. Alleine vom optischen her muss ich auch sagen, dass die Fat Bob auch etwas stimmiger finde. Bei dieser hier wirkt z.b. der Scheinwerfer etwas klein für das doch bullige Design und mit dem Scrambler-artigen Auspuff konnte ich mich noch nie richtig anfreunden (Alles geschmackssache natürlich!!). Gut sieht sie aber dennoch aus. Über die fahrerischen Eindrücke kann ich natürlich noch nix sagen, aber mit dem ganzen Features und allem kann man beim Preis überhaupt nicht meckern.... Vor allem, wenn man bedenkt, dass die Fat Bob mal eben ne Ecke teurer ist. Denn mal danke fürs Video und auf Bald.... PS: ich krieg die Krise, wenn ich deinen Zopf sehe und denke, wie meine Matte verknotet ist, wenn ich nix geflochten habe.... ;-)

    While I don’t ride anymore, I do like this direction. They have a diversity issue and the street was not the draw they were expecting. Personally, they need to redesign that line and sell with minimal margins. Take the Honda/Kia route from 90’s. Good vehicle at a modest price, and develop brand loyalty that way. Full disclosure I was upset at their Fat Boy restyle.

    I have been waiting for you to review it. You are the best Juliane! I don’t like the license plate/turn signal thing, and not a big fan of fat front tires.That would have to go for me. 1977 XLCH

    I’m sure Ohlins will have a three inch shock for that very soon. Great vid!

    Ich seh da Öhlins oder n Wilbers monoshock fürs Heck. Wird richtig gut dann. Find gut das die Company nur eine Scheibe vorne verbaut hat. Sieht deutlich besser aus mmn. Und zum Sound, mit ner Anlage wird der richtig crispy sein!
