It's not an uncommon thing, I've seen it all over. It's kind of having to do with certain tours, usually it's rare that a band plays a song from an upcoming album before it gets released. Like when a certain album is released, a band will mostly play songs from that album, mixed in with older ones.
It wasn't the engineer's fault. Farther back it sounded great but being that close, the guitar amp was aimed right toward me and that drowned out the PA speakers.
It sounds like Matt (the guitarist) is using a delay/reverb effect, maybe with some chorus. Whether or not the chorus is used I don't know because a 12 string guitar (what he's playing) usually has natural chorus due to the small differences between string tunings.
Gosh, I would love to see her and the band live, it would be an honor and privilege to be there and see them in person...
