Excellent video, well done you! I am also going to rewatch this episode for the new details. LOVE LOVE LOVE Time Team and everyone who was a part of it. Thanks Tim and Dr. Helen! From USA fan.
Hello Helen, that grey hair is coming in nicely! Mine went to white skipping grey altogether. Love the work you did on Time Team, not sure who I preferred most, you Mick, or Phil.... meh an episode with all three of you was perfection. Also fun to see your study or home office while you are at home avoiding Covid-19, bookshelves packed and one stuffed with papers and notes. Expected nothing less than controlled chaos and that's what I see. Curious about the sheet of paper taped to the door, what's on the other side of it facing anyone outside the room? Marvin The Martian flipping them the bird and saying go away? or just Do Not Disturb? Or maybe "Beware he who enters this labyrinth of knowledge"... proly a grocery list not taped to the fridge.
One frustrating aspect of the Raunds' episode is that no one ever asks why "Henry" has a whacking great hole on the top-left of his skull. Looks as though it's been pierced by a spear-head.
I wonder, if say a Saxon times and in a small community and a woman and a baby die, but are unrelated, that the baby might not be buried with the woman, more because putting a child in the earth and then leaving it there, it's so hard and to bury it with someone, it might give a portion of comfort to the grieving family. Just a thought on watching this.
I couldn't think of a disease of dogs and humans that would kill so quickly as to leave no trace. An accidental drowning or smoke inhalation (commented above) is a good fit as any
RIP Victor Ambrus, he really did bring so much humanity to that show thru his art.

in one episode, she said "I have books on everything!" to Phil or someone.
And here I thought I was the only one who had a bit of "a thing" for Helen, but delighted to find I'm not alone after all !
Waiting for the Anglo Saxon geake TH-cam channel
I wonder if at the time death by smoke inhalation could have been a problem? That would explain groups dying at the same time.
I wondered about drowning.
Or an epidemic...

Broach by the head? Or hair ornament, a broach that decorated a band/some cloth head cover?
Very pretty
Did they die at the same time, or was the dog sacrificed to be put in the grave with the woman?
Small dogs were later used and bred for hunting rodents or rabbits... so that also might be an explanation
Did Anglo-Saxon burials usually have coffins/biers?
ay dis episode was lit styllllll
uh?
Accidental drowning could explain a woman and the dog dying together.

cats were considered as familials to witches
Must say looking as good now as dock did before
I don't recognize the interviewer, probably due to his goatee. Was he an expert, a digger, or a producer on the show?
Time Team producer, Tim Taylor.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Taylor_(producer)
he seems to be showing his face since the old time team ended?
