Please do more of these. Have been watching every time team we can find on TH-cam. Wish you would make more when this madness is over.

Fascinating. Wonderful to hear from Carenza, especially the "what if...?" Question at the end of the piece. I've been a fan of time team since s1e01 when it originally aired. 😊

I just spent days binge-watching Time Team Classics on Amazon. This is the perfect follow up as I had so many questions...

If anyone's curious about the question of the name, "The place-name Raunds is first attested in an Anglo-Saxon charter of c. 972-992, where it appears as Randan. It appears as Rande in Domesday Book (1086); and as Raundes in a later survey of Northamptonshire. The name is the plural of the Old English rand, meaning "border"."

I’ll state right now that I’d love to see TT back. However, everyone’s vision of TT is Mick, Tony and you know the guy. Long hair and out of Monty Python’s The Holy Grail. ( having a senior moment here ) Phil that’s it lol. The new TT would not have them in it. Not to mention Robin, Victor, Carenza etc. It won’t have the same vibe banter or screw ups. If however they could re create that, it would go for another 20 years.

What I like about time team is that it seems to honestly be people talking to each other with a camera there. Like, yes, they explain things for camera, but it's much less staged than almost all tv nowadays, they are explaining things to Tony and to members of the public. Any new time team endeavor would have to have the same idea, where they don't talk down to the audience, but actually just have conversations with the real people in front of them.

@@catlinboy I felt the last season was the poorest of all. No Mick which was enormous, but the replacement people didn’t have the vibe nor personality. It was noticeable to me that there were more coming from the trenches re Matt & Tracy which was great, but not enough to save the series. There had been rumours as to why Mick wasn’t there, but I’ll leave that to the people who really knew and not speculate.

I match several of the anglo saxon burials on gedmatch. But I think most people with 75% British dna do. :)

I have been doing DNA since 2010 and manage 20 + people accts (FTDNA Ancestry MyHeritage) and cannot get on to using ged match over my shallow head? I have been doing trees since 1970 and find others but escape some of my own major lines. 25 % !!! my PA NJ Wisconsin line of my paternal grandmother I have ZIp of her ancestors Philadelphia Kelly & Joice Joyce and Reilly Riley The other big miss is my 1820 era CT b Charles Edward Strong who has been misguessed for years. He is 12.5 % of over 7 testing cousin agea 77 -100 who were her great grandchildren. So hard to believe he died in CA was here in N California 1850s fwd
