Thanks for the review. The one from Franklin Sensors remains my favorite and of course the Hansson magnetic one. I have been getting better in finding wall studs by simply knocking, too. The challenge is always to find studs in exterior walls with insulation.
I have and used one for a few years now, doing older building remodels there are all sorts of hidden things in walls, I use painter's tape to hold both units in one hand.
Man, that's really cool! Ohhhhhhh, one thing I'd like to know is if it will detect those metal protective sheets to prevent screwing into pipes, and such. I bet it will, but determining size might be an issue to consider. Either way it's a far cry from what we've had in the past. I have one of those Zircon finders, and once I watched your video on properly calibrating it I've had almost no issues finding what I needed to find. Mine won't detect wiring so I have to be extra careful, but it still works great for my uses. Also, the price on these scanners isn't nearly as bad as I though it'd be. Unfortunately even as inexpensive as they are I still won't need one for my "every-so-often" repairs, lol. Thank you, Guy I appreciate all your work, and knowledge!
im 50-50 on this, does it show the pipe in correct orientation? seems odd when you flipped it horizontal it showed vertical and when vertical it showed horizontal(correct orientation of pipe) , also the wires does it always show angled like that when detecting? does it pickup if stapled to a stud like it should be, would be interesting to see what this looks like
A negative for me with Wall-Bot.... I don't have a 3rd hand to mark studs with as I work alone. Sure, guys can tape a pencil to their 3rd appendage and try. More justification to wear a kilt--right Guy? 😜 Sure, you can see different materials with wall-bot. It's just not practical for my business needs IMO. However, with thermal imagers down in cost and a decent one can be had for under $500, a TIC will not only detect studs, wiring, pipes, etc. it will also be beneficial in heat loss, temperature monitoring, energy efficiency improvements to expand scope of your operations. TICs are a one-handed tool so the other can mark, tape, or locate. Just a thought and observation. I appreciate your content and knowledge. Keep up great work sir.
Okay! At first this just looked a little too involved. But having watched it, this is perfect. Where can I find it because Home Depot doesn't have it! And thank you!😊
Okay. So without Wi-Fi access it will not function. To me, living in a very rural area with limited access, that would be a dealbreaker. Very good "wall" you constructed with most anything encountered in todays construction. Best demonstration of this I have seen do far. Thank you.

Nice Guy, I believe that maybe the best I've seen yet. Have a good day my friend.

Great video. Thanks so much.
WOW! That wall would be a nightmare if I ever came across that in real life!
Very helpful
LOVING that daddy picture!!

Would like to know if the wall is insulated
i was really hoping it would find wires in the wall. thank you
Hi my brother Guy. This Walcott looks interesting. I'm wondering will it. See through plaster and lathe. Steve Whittemore
No but they say they have one that will

I have one of those so I will test out that theory

Does it pair via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth?
Wifi

Does insulation in the wall affect the scanning at all?
No
what about mortar?
Yes it will do concrete, mortar, and plastic as long as there's a stud behind it.
Now test it on a old school plaster wall
They say they have one tweaked for plaster so I may get to test it one day.
Or a knock down finish
Well I showed in the video that it detected the stud through 1 inch of drywall so texture isn’t going to be any problem.
^Laughs in plaster and lath^

Nice but pricy
