With how much money the city has you would think they would have either newer equipment or refurbished stuff

Denver's fleet is relatively new. The oldest frontline engine is the legacy Glendale 2002 Pierce Dash at Station 5 (slated for replacement later this year or early 2023, along with the 2007 Enforcer at 7s), and replacements for Towers 15 and 23 (both 2005 Pierce Lances) and Trucks 26 and 28 (2007 Lances) have been budgeted as well. Nate got lucky to catch 22s running a reserve engine (1:07; their assigned 2012 Velocity is at 3:36) and two different reserve trucks (0:03, 1:07 and 5:33--interestingly, the last one actually *_was_* Tower 22 before it was replaced with their current 2020 Pierce Velocity 100ft. rear-mount platform) at the same time, as well as 38s running a spare (6:42; their frontline piece is a 2016 Pierce Velocity PUC 105ft. rear-mount quint, one of only two wet aerials in the entire DFD fleet, the other being Truck 2 that Nate filmed here: th-cam.com/video/yP2yy8SLBcI/w-d-xo.html ), the old and new OPS-2 Expeditions (0:29 and 4:41 respectively) and DC4 running a reserve buggy parked in front of 8s at 7:53. Otherwise, the next oldest engines are 9, 12 and 26 (all 2011 Pierce Velocities) and Tower 1 is also a 2011; everything else is at or under 10 years old.

Nate it would be awesome if you could catch the Air & Light rig, that is one truck i don't see out too often. It is housed at Denver Station 16.

Lol, hell no. Firestone USED to have a private fire company (Mountain View Fire Protection) and it was hot garbage. Now the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District is one of the fastest and most efficient fire departments in the US!.
Private companies are great for somethings, but private means profit over everything else! The safety of the public should never EVER be below profit. Its why Non-profit hospitals are wonderful, efficient, high paying, and cheap af to get care.
Plus private fire companies have been known to refuse to go to houses of families that can't afford to pay for "protection" or they ONLY protect houses that pay for them and let those that don't just sit there and burn.
Simply put, take your dumb ass head out of your literal dumb ass and learn to care for others.
