I think one thing alot of people miss on this whole thing is Chevreuse is the special surveillance and security capitan of Fontain just like Vautrin was back when the whole thing from Neuvillette's past happend and If you remember Vautrin took vengeful for Carol but Chevreuse despite being a bit torn chose to stand fully on the side of justice, the line that reminded me of that was Veronique asking Chevreuse "is this what justice means to you?" Which is exactly what Vautrin asked Neuvillette.
That's actually such an interesting aspect of this that I hadn't thought about! I forgot what Vautrin's specific position was, but it creates a really interesting contrast with Chevreuse choosing to restrain herself and Vautrin choosing vengeance. I think it's also really interesting that Vautrin seems to understand that he's done something unforgiveable. Despite not outwardly accepting his sentencing at the trial, if I remember correctly, he seemed to accept that the sentence was a just consequence for his actions. It's actually a really clever way for Genshin to highlight this ideology of justice by showing it contextualized with two separate characters, who are similar in many ways, but chose different actions. Thanks for pointing this out!
that cutscene is honestly so good. genuinely cinematic in the lighting and angles with a lot of great touches. chevreuse's reveal with the heat glow of her gun barrel, then the way she walks and speaks. she's not a big character but she still managed to be really intimidating and erica lindbeck's VA work is excellent. they really succeeded in making her look cool. especially the way she just casually tosses her gun away as she introduces herself then that insane deflection of the bullet and gun spin. morris' and veronique's VA also deserve appreciation as well. it really emphasizes how much of a shame it is that it's a limited event cutscene and players who miss it won't see it unless they actively look for it (which many won't think to do). like the fischl/mona/kazuha/xinyan summer event or albedo doppleganger event. legitimately good character development moments that just get lost. not to mention assets and music that aren't used anywhere else (just listen to the battle music of the aformentioned fischl portion "Die Mittsommernacht-Fantasie", it's incredible). anyway, the quest really made chevreuse an interesting and appealing character. i'm glad i didn't miss it. i enjoyed seeing it again with your commentary, so thank you!
Chevreus is so badass in this event, also love how Furina is also having fun directing and stuffs. Btw love your videos they help me through the day, you are such an underrated content creator 😊
This was a super fun event, both to play and to watch you play. I enjoy your tangents a lot, and you always point out little character building moments that I miss, especially with Furina. And I'll never complain about seeing Ayaka in an event. Furina was just excellent, and I loved all the parallels drawn between the characters and their different stories

I honestly LOVED the Morris getting arrested cutscene, NEVER expected it, amazing animation, lighting, and Paimon Popping out with the Kamera honestly made my day 😄
This has to be my favourite event so far. We immediately get a story arc for a new character to the degree i don’t think could’ve been captured as well in a hangout. There’s also alot of things i could say about the deeper themes of justice: in this particular case revenge was averted, which is in contrast to what happened with Vacher. Anyways, i discovered your channel recently and i’m liking the commentary alot: now i’m gonna go back to watch your past videos. Good luck on the journey in 2024
Im glad you enjoyed this quest, it was one of my favorites so far since Fontaine came out. If you find time to work in another character story quest anytime soon you should do Yoimiyas act 2 quest. Its really good and has arguably my favorite cinematic from the entire sumeru arc. Im sure u will love it 😀
I don't think a confession at gunpoint is reliable evidence in court. Thankfully ,in this case at least, fontaines laws work differently. Really nice that we got a small cameo from Wriothesley because the theme of the story is very similar to his.
@@matthewskittles8003 it depens. a forced confession under extreme stress or torture can be seen as invalid. A lawyer could argue that his client just confessed to anything because he feared for his life. But than again Teyvat is not our world and is not like the man was innocent.
Too be fair for him to get off free you would need to convince both Neuvillette and Wriothesley that someone who admitted to order the death of an innocent woman Infront of her children wasn't guilty
They have NPCs murdering a lot of people the most interesting one is Jeht, and they have traveler helped to Murder even whole clans for a treasure chest, so I definitely think Traveler would pull the trigger lol ^ ^
the tribe strike first AND continue to attack us after the truth is out. Morris is unarmed and defenseless when the revenge takes place. so there are chance that they won't.
I hate the fact that we will never have the chance to play this event again Characters like Chevreuse -YaoYao and Kaveh had an amazing character with good writing and a lot of depth new players or returning players will never know how good their characters are and how they have their own hobbies and side activities they have, and the biggest example is Cyno in quests he is so serious but in events he is so unserious and funny, and he loves TCG with dad jokes in his lips all the time you will never know that if you didn't play events or major characters growth and developments like albedo - sucrose - Collie and Xiao that changes their characters and teach them lessons or good small adventure to showcase their character, like Layla - Faruzan - Itto and Hu tao like I saw a new player participate in the Lantern Rite last year, and he was so confused why Xiao act so different from his story quest they have a serious problem with events, and they need to change it ASAP :(
I feel like I got so bamboozled by him because I genuinely felt bad for him at first! I was like, "Damn, my guy has fallen on hard times. That's totally understandable in this economy." And then he turns around and pulls this crap?!😭

Someone's probably already said it, but as a 4 star character, Chevreuse won't get a story quest. Only 5 star characters get them. At most they'll eventually give us a hangout, but I'd imagine this event was meant to be her equivalent of a story quest/hangout.
Well we learn so much about Kaveh and his father in previous event, and they teased us that his mother is married someone from Fontaine, and she's currently here in Fontaine, it's been a year since that event, and we still don't have any updates on his story so don't except them to reveal anything soon :(
There's a game where the point of the story is that revenge is bad. And that's God of War, the earlier games anyway. So basically Kratos got his revenge and what he felt afterward was.. nothing. Emptiness. His revenge was the one thing that kept him going, but once he got it. Well, he killed himself.. So like yeah, nobody wins!

i mean thats true but considering that they got in on Kamera and she has alibi's that it was staged, it most likely can be used in court.
