This story is about addiction, as told from the point of view of an addict who is losing their fight against their addiction and who sees the pain that it is causing their loved ones and the destructive nature of their disease on their relationships. Paulina wrote this song when she was 13. Wonderful, emotional solo performance!
Pau has a beautiful voice! I love when she gets thrown off for a second hearing the whole audience sing her song and you can see that happy look on her face.
Love all your reactions. Been subbed a long time. I’m 65 and like many my age I totally love the warning like that are my own granddaughters. Pau is really something special on these 2 songs at the piano. I suggest when you do Breath that you could pause right after her talking intro in Spanish, if you feel the need, but then let the song play through all the way to the end when she walks off stage. It’s a short song anyway. Rips my heart out every time. When Pau smiles, the world smiles. When Pau cries, the world cries with her!
This is about addiction! Listen to the 1st line closely, this person is lying in an alleyway looking through broken bottles!! Pau does have the ability to make you feel emotion, listen to her version of Creep!!!😊🎶⚡️
Of all the versions of this song available on TH-cam, this one is my favorite. 8000 fans shouting out the lyrics? How could she not stop and stare? And ten people playing along on strings? Jaw-droppingly cool. Yeah, she wrote this after reading an article on addiction. Many a recovering addict has heard this and cried their eyes out. They know exactly what this is about - the black hole in your soul that sucks everyone around you down, with you. Pau is the emotive empath of the band, a great counterpoint to Dany's rockstar front woman. You should hear her sing *Revenant* (Teatro Metropolitan, CDMX, 08/29/2022), *Breathe* (this concert only), *23* (this concert for the new intro), *Narcisista* (Teatro Met version because she fronts the band with a guest drummer on her kit), *Dust to Dust* and *The End - Stars Always Seem to Fade* (Lunario, CDMX, November, 2018). Then there is her cover of Radiohead's *Creep,* which is probably the best cover of that song ever recorded - and it's on an out of tune piano, in black-and-white, recorded on her phone!
Pau is a musical gift to the world. She opens her heart up on stage. To complete the moment, please go right on to Breathe. It was a spur of the moment decision to play it, after having said that she never would. Turn on the English subtitles to grasp the context. You will be moved.
Pau wrote this song as a 13 year old from the perspective of someone she observed caught in the throes of addiction. As everyone else will mention, you must also do the next track Breathe. It’s so gut wrenching that it’s the one and only time she’s ever performed it live. 😢
All three of them are classically-trained pianists (from around age 3). Each of them chose a secondary instrument early on (around age 6 or 7) and began professional lessons. Both Dany and Ale also learned saxophone, though neither have played in years. Of the three, Pau may be the most proficient on piano presently because she uses an piano or a midi keyboard plugged into a computer to initiate the composition of most of their songs.
Great reaction. Black Holes hits you in the feels. Love the Pepsi Center performance, but the Black Holes performance that really gets to me is from their 2018 Dakota Bar show. Keep Rockin' my friend 🤘⚡🤘
Their names are pronounced Dany (Dah-nee), Pau (POW! like the sound she makes) and Ale (Ah-leh). All play piano and started classical piano at a young age before eventually picking up their second (The Warning Band) instrument. This is a song about addiction written from the perspective of an addict, according to Pau who wrote it at age 13. Pau sings lead on about 20% of The Warning songs. Try Dust to Dust, Revenant, Narcissista, and others.
From their first album XXI Century Blood, released March 2017. They started to work on it in 2015, when they were 15 (Dany), 13 (Pau) and 10 (Ale). They talked about the process to create this album during their TEDx presentation/performance in 2017. Their concert at the Dakota bar for this album is a must to watch.
Yeah, its about someone giving way to an addiction, but your interpretation is actually totally valid too! Their lyrics are often very open to interpretation. Good reaction!
Not dark? Many people assume this is about a relationship and that’s okay, but as said elsewhere this is originally about someone at the end of despair because of their alcohol/drug addiction. Written by a 13 year old Pau.
This is about addiction, not splitting up with someone. Unless you consider your addiction as your significant other, so then breaking up with your addiction might make sense.
You need to react to the next song Breathe in which Pau brings you to tears. Please have subtitles on as she introduces the song in Spanish and it is meaningful.
On the wrong track here Lee in your interpretation. Pau wrote this about Addiction at 13 years old, a truly heartfelt song and one I really relate to having lost my Brother to Addiction years ago. This one hits hard every time I hear it. You should read the lyrics for a clear perspective on this song......the Lyric "Don't Hold on, Don't hold on to me" is referring to the addiction and not a person. Great reaction Lee, stay well and thanks for supporting these phenomenal young women.
Tell me you've never lost someone to addiction. This song will sing to your soul and you will cry. I hope this song never means something to you, and you just find it enjoyable. ⚡🤘😭

My guy, it's your channel, so do what you want. But my suggestion is that if you're goal is to interpret a song while it's playing, actually listen to ALL the words. Otherwise, you miss the mark. The very first part of this song is pretty clear "All alone in an alley way staring at my face in the reflection of broken bottles..." and indicates its written about substance abuse (alcohol). Your comment about "he left because he couldn't put up with her BS" just makes you look a little sottish. Just sayin...
@seanskelton7730 of course they are. Unfortunately that version doesn't make me cry either, in fact no song by The Warning, or any other artist for that matter, has made me cry.
Actually Pau doesn't sing any of those songs entirely. Dany is always backing her up, which she also does on this song (just not this particular version). Breathe is the only song Pau sings on her own, just like When I'm Alone features only Dany on vocals.
Written by 13 year old Pau (Pow!) about addiction for their first album, XXI Century Blood.

that angel on the piano is the same demon on the drums
How does a 13 year write a song like this and sing it with such emotion. Still amazed me.
Fun fact, Pau presents all her song ideas as ballads.
Paulina verdadera maestra del rock ,sin discusion su talento y calidad

She said it was an article she read about addiction.
Paulina attacking the feels again! Amazing song written by a 13 year old!

Pau really does have a powerful voice. A lot of talent there 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Definitely!

This song is about addiction
Most likely to alcohol or drugs since you don't get corrupt and fall into any black holes if you're addicted to candy or cigarettes.
Dany LOVES the way Pau sings this song. Pau sings Breathe right after this then they do Enter Sandman
From their first album XXI Century Blood, released March 2017. They started to work on it in 2015, when they were 15 (Dany), 13 (Pau) and 10 (Ale). They mentioned working on XXI Century blood in the first TEDx presentation.
23 live is fantastic....
Good save the Queens of Rock......🤟🖤😎⚡♨️🇲🇽
Yeah, its about someone giving way to an addiction, but your interpretation is actually totally valid too! Their lyrics are often very open to interpretation. Good reaction!
the lyrics can also make it sound like the addict is letting their loved ones know they can let go of them as their is no hope for the addict.😭😭
Not dark? Many people assume this is about a relationship and that’s okay, but as said elsewhere this is originally about someone at the end of despair because of their alcohol/drug addiction.
Written by a 13 year old Pau.
Yes, to all this. Plus, The Warning have several other fantastic ballads with Pau on lead vocals, including Show Me the Light, Revenant, and Breathe.
Pau!! 🔥🤘 (Pow)
The song that follows this one is “Breathe” you must do it’s incredible!!! Don’t forget the subtitles, she talks about the song in Spanish 😉😊
But the English subtitles, not the auto-generated subtitles.

This song and the following song, "Breathe" go together. You should follow up also.
This is about addiction, not splitting up with someone. Unless you consider your addiction as your significant other, so then breaking up with your addiction might make sense.

Pau sings several songs entirely. Watch 23, Dust to Dust and Narcisista. And most importantly watch Breathe, but have your tissues ready.
Breathe has never made me cry. Black Holes is much sadder, IMO.
@@chasingbirds3073 I believe the poster is talking specifically about the Pepsi Center version of Breathe.
