The first time at the zoo we heard this and we thought someone was yelling "HELP!" but then saw it was a peacock. They actually let the peacocks roam around freely at that zoo.
I got the shit scared out of me by a peacock LOL. I was visiting my friend at St Mary's College in Souther MD and unbeknownst to me, they had a bunch of peacocks there. We were outside hanging out, it was pitch dark and I hear what sounds like a woman screaming "help". Surprisingly everyone there was acting all nonchalant and I was like, "um guys, who's screaming out there?" They all started laughing their assets off and were like, it's just Tue peacocks LOL.
Dear sirs: me and my buddy are stoned and came across this when discussing the matter of peacock calls. We LOLed thoroughly. Thank you Nathan and crew. Respectfully, Raven & Jonathan
I work as a caregiver and it sounds like one of my residents screaming help over and over. want to know what I listen to for 8 hours a day... here you go.
I was at the Cape May Zoo in New Jersey, and I started doing a peacock impression, trying to entice them to open their tails. Well, once I got started, all the peacocks started yelling. Oooh boy.
It's funny you have the guy in the middle of it; I am watching this clip with my daughter because she didn't believe that the noise I was making was a Peafowl call.
In Danish it sounds like the peacock is saying "It's X-mas time!", which is written like this; "Det er jul". The sentence is pronounced a bit like this; "Dee yool".
Makes me think of all the peacocks wandering around the library I work at. Mind you, I still don't know *why* they are there, but they are very agreable animals if not a little skittish at times. Silly creatures. Hmm...I hope the rain isn't bothering them too much today.
Fun fact: If you play this video while a bunch of peacocks are near you, they actually respond and call back! While at the zoo for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, my friends and I played this video to see if the peacocks would respond, and they actually did. It was hilarious!
For years we have heard this outside our window of our store at all hours of the day and could not figure out what it was. But without a doubt its a peacock. It is insanely loud and does it night and day.
When I was a little kid my family would often visit my grandparents where they lived on a creek. In the evening you could hear the peacocks calling in the distance, but I was so young I didn't know what it was. My grandpa told me it was little kids crying for help... and that always scared me.
There's some wild peacocks where I live and they do those calls every day around when the sun sets. At first I had no clue whether they were some cats or birds being trapped or something but they're pretty cool :P
I actually have four of these in my back yard just walking around. It's very nice, they are really cute. But to the people who wants to buy one, keep in mind that you will more often than not be woken to this sound ;)
At first i thought maybe a cat, but this definitely sounds like a peacock. The interesting part to me is that a peacock isnt gonna snap branches like that. Maybe a hunter in the area as well. Or possible the hunter was using a call
I've always thought peacocks sound like they're yelling Hay-elp, hay-elp. Sound like help! I love peacocks. That was a real good imitation call you did, there. :)
Btw, I volunteer at the Main Branch of the Glendale Public Library in Arizona, and I am fairly certain they must stay in the orchard and covered areas with the peahens on these days. Not sure though.
I literally had no idea peacocks made these kinds of noises until I watched Kung-Fu Panda 2. And Lord Shen kept making that wicked call, and I was like...DO PEACOCKS REALLY SOUND LIKE THAT? Apparently they do!
i heard this yesterday when i was swimming and i thought it was some crazy guy yelling and my aunt told me it was a peacock. i didn't believe her, but apparently she was right. Its such an ugly sound for a beautiful bird xD
okay, so In Pennsylvania, when I was 12, me and my grandma went to this park and there was a cemetery in the woods, so we went. We were looking at the tombstones when suddenly we hear this noise, and I flip out thinking that it’s a baby or somebody and my grandma laughed and pointed out a cage, with a peacock in it that was owned by some house owners (it was a big, big cage, it wasn’t being abused and it was very happy) so, yep. It’s kinda scary when you’re in a cemetery in the forest.
Me in the floral park of Paris, having a pee against a tree (I could not hold on any longer) when behind me: HEY OH ! Oh crap, I am spotted ! Ah, no. It's just a peacock.
I was once at a friend's house at a bonfire, and I kept hearing these muffled screams in the distance that sounded like "HELP!" and "OW!" and "NOOO!"... my friend told me it was some dipshit down the block that owned a peacock. Now I know he wasn't bullshitting me.
@yamsick It DOES sound like a kid or something. It sounds like a human noise! It took me forever to figure out what was making this sound at my college.
i got 4 of them theyre baby chicks and they follow like ducks and they play ALOT and they jump also cute! my dad took them fromt eh mom cause his boss has 8 of them and it had chicks so he went there in the morning and took them
Literally the most horrible sound in the world when it wakes you up at 3 in the morning One time the neighbors called the cops because they thought they beard a kid screaming and it was two peacocks screaming their heads off
The first time at the zoo we heard this and we thought someone was yelling "HELP!" but then saw it was a peacock. They actually let the peacocks roam around freely at that zoo.
My neighbors had a pair of growing up as a kid and I always thought the same thing.
Brookfield zoo?
Check my channel to see some rare peacocks colors th-cam.com/video/2kFehpugxG0/w-d-xo.html

I love peacocks, my grandma used to raise them.
They sound like they are saying help when they call. haha.
Their mating dance is so beautiful.
I work as a caregiver and it sounds like one of my residents screaming help over and over. want to know what I listen to for 8 hours a day... here you go.
What a lovely bird ! Strange calling sound though ! Still very amazing looking and sounding bird ! Exotic .
I was at the Cape May Zoo in New Jersey, and I started doing a peacock impression, trying to entice them to open their tails. Well, once I got started, all the peacocks started yelling. Oooh boy.
I swear, I just saw one making this noise on the roof of someone's house in Parsippany, NJ.
i like next to a wildlife rehabilitation center. the lady there has around a dozen peacocks, so i get to hear this every night, all summer!
It's funny you have the guy in the middle of it; I am watching this clip with my daughter because she didn't believe that the noise I was making was a Peafowl call.

Love this video, glad it’s still up
This sounds like Kevin from Up
So do you!
@@crystalortiz4968 Now you're just mean 😑
Yes because Kevin is a peacock
@@owenwilkinson4991 she's not actually...but a peacock was likely the inspiration.

Great impression!
For years we have heard this outside our window of our store at all hours of the day and could not figure out what it was. But without a doubt its a peacock. It is insanely loud and does it night and day.
They sound like Kevin from Up and they also sound like a cat looking for its owner.
ikr!!

Best video of all time!
I love them soooo much
Gave me a giggle. Thanks mate.
Great video. I can only imagine how many 911 calls were made because of these guys.
These kept me awake in Scotland :P
The guy who impersonated a peacock deserves a reward.
and a cheery 'eyo to you too Mr Peacock 👋
Excellent
This clip really picks up at the end.

It's calling for help. That's what it sounds like from a distance.
I literally had no idea peacocks made these kinds of noises until I watched Kung-Fu Panda 2. And Lord Shen kept making that wicked call, and I was like...DO PEACOCKS REALLY SOUND LIKE THAT? Apparently they do!

Haha! we have a peacock and I didnt realise but the volume was really loud and after the 1st call it set him off lol
LOL the guy at the end!
To me, being a cat lover, it sounds like a kitten/cat in distress!
okay, so

It's not as bad as you'd think. The feathers are seasonal. They drop after the breeding season. 8-)
'Mayo Mayoo Mayoo!!' :D
So that's what I've been hearing when I went to Cuba.
LOL the end :D
I love
>8O
Nice
"The iPod human is light and portable! And you'll never lose it because
it has a built in alarm that goes off every three seconds!"
From a good distance it kinda sounds like they are saying "Hey Arnold"
Truly a masterpiece. Friend me for more compliments.
I was once at a friend's house at a bonfire, and I kept hearing these muffled screams in the distance that sounded like "HELP!" and "OW!" and "NOOO!"... my friend told me it was some dipshit down the block that owned a peacock. Now I know he wasn't bullshitting me.
be careful, once one at the Bird sanctuary made a call at me like: "E-e-yow" but it sounded like :
"go to hell"
LOL, true!
they do seem to be calling for help

I've always thought that they actually sound like babies.
OMG, it sounds like a baby crying
Heard this sound in a game once, didn't know what it was at all. Thought it was some alien... now i know its a peacock. Interesting.
Nick McKay The first time I heard it was in Primal Rage. I used to think it was a parrot.
how do you catch a peacock at night
Tammy Rowland Is that a joke? If so, where's the punchline?
An alien LOL!
Try hearing a peacock calling at some unkown hour of the night while camping in the woods. Very scary and annoying. (Happened to me a few years ago)
peacocks sound like cats lol
It's like a tiny dinosaur.
Gray Mousemouse It IS a tiny dinosaur! :)
