I think the reason the green lizard was friend is because theres a reputation system so if you feed lizards enough most lizards become friendly (not tamed)
@Fellow Canadian nope, they will know regardless if the fed lizard is with you or not, yellow lizards can't communicate with other their pack anymore after you tame them. Also reputation is region based.
@@luniular had that happen before i knew how anything in the game worked and I was so confused, called that lizard the friendly green giant. sadly didn't about taming lizards either so he stayed in the industrial complex alone
They do that all the time. I usually just hug the floor and scurry away behind them when they start chucking spears, because even when they're friendly they still kill you on accident a lot.
@@gooseprime Its actually a red lizard, it just looks like its pink because the color gets brighter at times and you can check the wiki yourself, there is no pink lizard but instead there is a red lizard

Anywho if you check the purple lizard's color variations, there's some that's borderline red. The lizard the scavs were trying to kill doesn't rlly look like a red lizard considering spines and shape etc, it looks more like the shape of a purple lizard. You can just check the wiki and compare shapes and sizes between it and purple/red lizards.
this is a little bit late but if you use the "the friend" passage you get a picture of a pink lizard sleeping with slugcat you get it by sleeping with any lizard 4 times i think
When I tamed my first red lizard i reset a bunch of times in survivor after lineaging one in order to get the elusive pink-red lizard haha. her name was berry :)
I've recently watched your other rainworld vids and have fallen in love with this game. Never played it, so I kinda ignored the videos. Super happy there's another video.
Oh you absolutely have to play it! it's a wonderful game, you won't ever find anything else like it. It isn't so much about the story as it is the gameplay itself, it's really satisfying once you get a grip on the world dynamics and controls.
Trust me, it's good. It's absolutely excruciating on a first playthrough, where each area is just *suffering,* but on a second playthrough you get to get all the collectibles and stuffs!
more than the memes, this is actually a super good example of the unique programming in rain world and im really fascinated. its got everything: different scale patterns between lizards, different personality values leading to different behaviors and yet having certain consistent matchups (gary's dominance wins all), different sizes in lizards, how something you killed a dozen times before can still get the drop on you. its so cool
Skurry, a way I commonly use to tell any species of lizard apart is their tail. Old Larry had (when they die their look changes) a fern-like tail, new Larry (the lizard you started feeding after Old Larry died) and Garry/Gary have a spiky tails. Hope this helps in the future :) Edit: in blue lizards there are also tear-drop tails, and in leapzards they have spotted tails and in pink lizards and leapzards they have wings as unique genetics. In many species a subtle gradient can be on a lizards tail. And of course there’s also color differences that are amazing. In fact, there can be orange axolotl/salamanders!
I also noticed that Old Larry has completely black tail spikes, while Garry had red tail spikes that kind of formed into "pincers" at the end. It's such nice attention to detail that there are subtle differences, even between members of the same subspecies. This game it too good at making it's ecosystem. Edit: noticed this got pointed out in the video. I made this comment just before that point lol. Still cool

I've been doing this thing recently where I've been really committing to restarting and finishing games I've bought and enjoyed but fallen off of for various reasons and it's been such a lovely time! I've still got Hades to beat, but rain world is next in line and I'm so excited!

Man, I'm so tempted to play rain world just to watch Skurry play it without getting spoilt. But at the same time, I hate games where you're always forced to hurry or on a timer.
As someone who also hates this, try it anyway! There are a lot of mods out there if you get it on steam, halfway through the game I just turned the rain off so I just had to worry about not getting eaten. Maybe it's cheating a bit but idc, the timer made me nervous to the point it wasn't fun anymore. Rain World is one of my favorite games now!

Gary is basically Achilles. An unstoppable warrior who absolutely destroys all who stand in his way. While he is difficult to get him to side with you, if you manage to get him on your side, victory is inevitable.

For me, this video is a historical heritage, it was after this video that I tried to do the same and it was the coolest journey for me, after the slugpups, but it left an impression on me.
i watched this, and immidiatly restarted my hunter world, got to the first room with guarenteed lizard, and kill farmed until it spawned red ones, than tamed one, while also having a mod that made my character look like a red lizard itself. so yeah, fun. Blaueder (me) and Rotesblut (my pet lizard/pack mate ig since im a lizard too), The Sanguine Dragons.
By the way if you ever wanna choose a lizard to help fight reds, greens are immune to red lizard bites and will even win in a fight against one, and only require 1-2 feedings to tame :D
I was messing around with taming lizards when I spawned a tamed slugpup. When I died the tamed lizard took away the slugpup to protect it from harm. Very cool detail

But I accidentally spawned 3 red lizards instead of just one and I watched it get mauled to death right in front of me after a few cycles. Still, I remember him fondly. If only he followed me away from that place.

True. Lizards have reputation but only if the fed lizard is with you. If they aren’t the other lizard won’t know unless there a yellow lizard
