- I decided to return to Rain World: Downpour to play The Gourmand again for one reason. To complete their food quest. It turns out there is a secondary goal for gourmand, that involves eating a bunch of specific foods found throughout the world. Join me on another chonky adventure where we have a real feast this time.

35:51 That frame of the animation (and the one before it a little) show the Survivor and Monk’s parents, and the Gourmand is showing them where to find foods like Batflies that they are seen eating at the start of Survivor. Also, this is the same bridge that Survivor fell from in their opening cutscene. So Gourmand actually caused the Survivor and Monks’ campaigns…

@@pumpkin_pants3828 he did actually cause their campaigns. Gourmand scouted out to find different types of food to help them learn what areas they could live in, once he returned they left the tree. Survivor falls while they're travelling and Monk jumps in after them. In the time between the intro cutscene and when you play, Survivor and Monk grow up and the slugcat colony is long gone.

Did you know?
You unlocked slugpups and the Outer Expanse gate for Monk and survivor
You can get an alternative ending by making them two go back to outer expanse (their home)
The ending will make more sense if you do it for survivor first.

Tbh the alternate survivor and monk endings aren't worth the bother as you're literally just doing the gourmand campaign part, but 2 times over, with the other one being more boring. (i guess you can also just run back to outer expanse immediately.)

I encountered one in my Saint playthrough and they're so rare, but that's also what makes them so scary to me.
The only one ive found was in the subterranean and literally under the monster kelp next to the scav trader. Needless to say it didnt do very much except very annoyingly absorb a spear for the kelp
there’s 6 stowaways in outer expanse. im surprised people don’t stumble across them, honestly.
i'm pretty sure they're garunteed to be in certain rooms but since they don't move it's hard to find them
@@Artificer_ Don't know about that since I've seen them not spawn before, but on top of that it's also possible that on a cycle they're asleep, so they don't even activate!

Gourmand, Monk and Survivor are like three leaders of Slugcats.
Survivor teaches the basics of survival and defence against other creatures.
Monk provides spiritual guidance (kind of necessary in the rain world).
Gourmand teaches about what is edible and where to find good food.
monk and surv arent teachers, they're very young when they get separated from the family

After you finish game woth Gourmand, you can access slugcat colony with both Survivor and Monk. There is an ending where all three meet.
Do not forget that gourmed also teaches about the manufacture of nuclear weapons
Gourmand is also a leader and morale booster, telling stories and showing bravery

I love how literally everyone is looking for pipeyard and it was the first path I took when playing the game blind
I completed the food quest some time ago and the lizards and centipedes gave me the most trouble. Especially the cyan lizard..
It's rather easy once you realize that the red centipede is vulnerable to smoke bombs
Eggbug was the hardest for me just because i had to find one, i had a miniature black hole prepared for the centipede since gourmand can just do that for some reason

Hello skurry. I am the new CEO of pipeyard, (the last one Centiwill Smithipede died from an unknown poison which we are still investigating). We have heard your complaints and will begin building more dens, albeit costing seven slugbucks per use because our colloseum battles on electing the new CEO were very costly.
Unrelated, while playing the dlc, I yelled fat at a caramel lizard and it froze in it's tracks, I think I offended it

I didn't even realise the scav tooll in outer expanse was a toll so I just ran right through it and was then confused later as to why the scavs hated me
Wow your food quest took such a wildly different route than ours! We went through unfortunate development to Sky Islands to Chimney Canopy, then worked our way back round to Moon, then straight to Subterranean where we did all our big hunts.

No. It was mine for a VERY LONG TIME. I still haven’t left it, but I’m close to a gate which I hope leads to adventure. I’m new to the game, and expected to just live in the starting spot for the rest of my little Scug life. XD

Hold on, at 35:47 you can see white and yellow slugpups, what if those are survivor and monk?
They are survivor and monk, it kind of makes sense because survivor and monks campaign come after gourmands, and they even have the exact same parents and a similar color because of the lighting, including their other sibling, this probably means survivor and monk was apart of gourmands colony at one time
13:15 hilariously enough, i did the exact same thing in my playthrough in the exact same room trying to get a spore puff to kill that same red centipede
My "home" in Rain World is Chimney Canopy. I just really like it. There is tons of food and its easy with a vulture mask. I do like Outskirts though. That's like my summer cabin.
Something i found out about noodle flies, if you eat all their kids, the one you first angered will just stop existing

I believe it's not out on switch yet. I read something abt it being released on there sometime in June

Rain world should add MACHA SLUG CAT he can +speed +swim speed minus hunger he need 2 hunger to hybernate but he refuses to use all types of spears and he is always is good with all types of scavengers but this is the sad part the start is him at a slug cat gym but a vulture grabs him and throws him in and gitting knocked out in the process making him hate all attacking monsters ever since that hes been raised by a lizard family his cousins are salamanders his dad is a red lizard his mom is a pink lizard so no lizards attack him but every freindly thing can attack him exept lizards and salamanders attack him he can eat any thing his fists are the only weapon he uses and he can hit any thing but 5 pebbles and salamanders lizards and scavengers they are his friend so he does bonus damage with his fists if hes fighting vultures so hopefully you see this and send this to the creator of rain world big thanks to you and the creator i cant thank yall more!!!

I have a question: if i buy downpour, will the progress from the base game be lost? like the map for survivor? And will it be saved if i beat the game? cause i read u can only play gourmand if u complete the game as survivor...
Your progress won’t be lost. I bought downpour halfway through my first playthrough and i was able to continue as normal.
Next they should raise a slugpup

Skurry I challenge you to collect every bird mask in the game and also the scavanger king's mask too.
Ok so one vulture mask, one king vulture mask and a scacenger king mask, that's literally everything it's so damn easy, besides there's an infinite amount of vultures total.
@@aarepelaa1142elite scavengers have custom masks as well. And scavengers aren't very easy to fight.
@@1th_to_comment. Well artificer one shots every scavenger with grenades and can basically make infinite grenades, plus can't even die directly from the grenades, and you would need to play arti to get the king scav mask. Tbh elite scavengers aren't even too bad compared to normal scavengers, you often get headshot one shots on them like the other scavs as well, and their agility isn't too bad for artificer to deal with.
Also they're classified ingame as regular vulture masks, i guess you could say to get every kind of color and shape, definitely not every kind of color for every shape though. And king vulture masks are probably special enough to get every kind of king vulture mask, probably exclude albino vultures completely.
