I’m so sorry. As a Stampin Up demo, I hope you and the other makers bring about some new ideas and scrapbooking back to Stampin Up. There are a number of us who scrapbook and have been desperately asking SU for more. We are hopeful that this helps us!
I hope that SU can be a great home for cardmakers and scrapbookers. I'm hopeful for what this collaboration will bring.
I still can’t believe it! CTMH had everything I love in one place. Other companies have ink I love or paper I love…but not both! And CTMH workshops are so wonderful. I have enough that I haven’t gotten to that can keep me busy for a little while. Guess I am going to have to get really creative after that. So glad y’all are continuing your TH-cam channels!!!
Yes I agree! The paper and inks that all match has made my crafting so much easier! It's a new crafty adventure for sure and a good chance to use up some of our stash!

So pleased to hear you are going to continue making videos as I love watching them. As much as I love CTMH for their quality inks, cardstock and beautiful matching collections I know there will be other products out there to find that I will enjoy using just as much. Scrapbooking is my main hobby and I love going to my crafty group each month. I'm sad for all the Makers and anyone working for the company. Yes above all we are creatives and will keep making with whatever products we have. I'm sure many of us could scrapbook for a very long time using what we have in our stash alone! lol

I’m glad you’re going to continue to make videos. As a former Maker, I have loads of collections I never used. I bet you have some too. You could use those in your videos occasionally because some of us will have whatever you use.
Yes I definitely want to use up some of my CTMH stash. It's not huge, but it could definitely keep me scrapping for a while!
Chelsey I love your creativity and your passion for this craft. Thankfully I am already a CDT member and will continue just so I can see my fav crafty ladies. Relieved that I can continue to watch your TH-cam channel! I feel your pain with the closing. I have been shopping with the company for 20 years. Thankfully for me I have a Ctmh supply to last my lifetime however looking forward to what everyone will share with new product.

Chelsey, I know 15 years is a long time and I too have been that long with CTMH…well a customer before then too. The company is one of a kind and the quality of our products is amazing. I will be missing many things too but for most the community we build and were part of for so many years. I am so glad you will continue to make your videos and I will see you over at CDT. I know things will come. So many of us just wanna inspire, teach and share the passion we have for paper crafting. I will look forward to your videos and I know we will find a way to continue what we love. ❤ see you soon ❤
That is very well said! This past month has been a huge mix of emotions and I'm sure there will be more to come. I'm hopeful for the future and what comes next. That being said, I'm pretty sure I'll be hoarding my CTMH stash!

Serious question: What is Close To My Heart and why is it's closure affecting so many online crafters? I had never heard of it until a bunch of TH-cam videos started filling my feed about it's closure. Is it some kind of franchise or something? I tried to Google and I asked the AI, but neither source could explain why the closure of one craft supplies company would impact the business of online crafters. Was it like Etsy or something? I'm not trying to be insensitive, I have honestly just never heard of it so I'm curious why so many TH-cam crafters are saying they are also quitting because of this one store's closure.
CTMH is a MLM that didn’t fit the typical MLM model in that Consultants did not push you to “join.” People brought product because it was high quality, beautiful papers and ephemera. This is a big deal as this company has been around 40 years. Some women have this as their primary source of income and that is very sad. It is also sad as it is a reflection of the economy. It is sad regardless as people are losing their jobs & paper crafters are losing a source of product.
That said, paper crafters have a great community and we stick together. We support and encourage one another and that won’t end with CTMH closing.
Don’t think it’s a reflection of a sad economy but of a changing scrapbook landscape and membership based shopping. Think Tupperware, Avon, Creative Expressions. A lot of people have just moved on from scrapbookking, quite a few scrapbook shops here in south central Texas closed prior to the pandemic and the economy was booming. Chains have started shrinking their scrapbook stock and expanded their yarn. We go through a boon & bust every 30 years or so in the stain glass industry.
Doesn't effect me I always thought there prices were to high
@@mmecharlotte you and I are very similar. I can afford a few little things now and then, but I prefer to make everything myself from cheap materials, scraps and trash.

I am thrilled to hear you will still continue to make videos. CTMH is the reason I started crafting 20 years ago- this is very bitter sweet. I have no intention of stopping. I find so much inspiration from the CDT. Membership is closed, but I’ll keep trying. I’m sure there will be many emotions over the next few months.

It is hard news, and for sure sad but scrapbooking is not going away with CTMH, CTMH was one of many companies that sell scrapbooking stuff. Memory-keeping, and scrapbooking is still going strong, and still completly doable. It just will look different with different companies. It looks different for the lives of those who sell this and of course that take time to understand and figure out.
However all these videos that are very dramtic like scrapbooking has been wiped off the face of the earth are a bit over the top.
It is always sad when a company goes out of business... I loved Felicity Jane and was sad when they went out of business, but it didn't stop me from many keeping.
The commuity of people is what is at the core of what we are all doing, and should be the focus. Lets all come together even stronger for this hobby that we love so much.
Everything is figure-out-able when it comes where everyone will land!!! There is so much talent and love for all those going through and processing. We are all going to be okay.
Also, let me just clarify I don’t feel like people are being dramatic about what’s happening in their lives because, of course, like I said, there is a lot to process and it is a really big blow… I only mean that it feels dramatic. That’s so many are saying or implying that scrapbooking itself is over, or that the channels we love are over because scrapbooking is over when I feel like more than ever so many of us are willing to rally around and support all of these channels regardless of the direction each individual chooses to go.

I was so sad beyond words when I heard CTMH was closing there doors😩. I thought I finally found a company that has products that I love so much. I’m so glad to hear that you still be posting videos. I do look forward to watch all videos with CTMH products I get so much inspiration, and pleased that its not going away, yet!! Thanks for the video, I no it was hard!!
It was very shocking news and I feel like I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. I hope you have a nice stash of CTMH that you can work through and keep creating! This was definitely a hard video to make, but I didn't feel like I could move onto crafty videos until I talked about it. Now we can get back to what we love best...making pretty things!

After watching so many of the CDT statements on YT about this news, I can't help but notice how positive you all are as a team. And I am here for it! I am also so happy that you're reopening CDT membership, because leaving was a huge mistake. I have missed the technique videos so much! Excited to rejoin! :)
I'm so glad you'll be joining us in the CDT membership again!! I love that we focus on techniques so no matter what products we're using the topics are still useful. We are all sad, but also trying to look at this change as an opportunity to grow and try new things. I will forever be so grateful that Jayma invited me to join the CDT. They truly are a special group of ladies and especially through this hard time I'm so grateful for them!

I am so sad. I started with CTMH 26 years ago as consultant. I had to stop 8 years ago due to health but I have always loved this company for their quality products.I will still be here watching.
It is definitely a loss for us all. There are so many of my staple products that are CTMH but I know we will also start to find other great products out there as we explore new companies. Thanks for being here for the journey!

I noticed part of what is included is product for a cricut machine. I have a brother scan n cut. Is what is included SVG file that could be used or either machines or is it product that can only be used with a cricut? Thank you for answering.
Thanks for being here and watching my videos! On the cdt website we have some freebie files for Cricut Design Space. Those are separate from the membership. In the membership there is a whole library of technique-focused classes and tip videos. A new tip video and class will be posted each week along with a challenge once a month. There are Cricut tutorials in the membership. I don’t believe any of the CDT instructors have a scan n cut, so we don’t have any classes focused on that machine.

Thanks for being here! I no longer do crops and I stopped hosting retreats in 2018. The online format works much better for my family as it's a little more flexible. I do zoom crafting nights with my customers/VIPs and I will probably continue hosting those.

Health of the owner and business not doing well enough to keep the stress off of her. They’re hoping to join with Stampin Up for the makers and scrapbook products. Anxiously waiting

They’re working with them. Nobody knows what that will look like yet.
