As newly converted ADV rider, I can say - yes indeed, the GS is pretty much the Primo ADV bike. Personally, I like a bit smaller/leaner (like my T7), but the GS is an amazing bike.
As someone who has considered giving ADV more of my time (and money), I'm curious as to your proximity to areas where you can take advantage of your bike's capabilities. With me not being very close to any open off-road areas, I worry an ADV bike in my garage would not be used often enough.
I’m so glad you got to ride it I’m looking into switching into a an adv bike for the same reason, I’m just short an almost every reviewer seems to be over 6 feet! I’m 5’7 no i feel more confident in looking into my next bike
If you're gonna take it off road, I'd imagine you the height may be more of an issue. But, on the road, and from stop light to stop light, I had no problems with it. ✌🏽
For a brand new rider, I think it might be a bit much. It'll depend on how confident you are out of the gate after your initial riding course and also how tall you are. For a shorter new rider, I'd probably say steer clear, but every person is different.
The BMW dealer closest to me (where I did this demo) is one of the best motorcycle dealers in the region. I'd definitely get one if money was no factor.

Looks like a smooth ride...

I'm 5.8 and have a factory lowered version my mate 5.6 and has the same bike check out my review..Great bikes
Funny being in your video I was the guy walking in the white shirt at take off 😂 I test rode a R 18 that day.
I was at the Indian rides a couple weeks ago too. 🤓
Nice review I have the factory lowered version fantastic bike
I've ridden a handful of adventure bikes, but this one took the cake for me.
Love that bike! Was looking at the 850/non-GSA but now you’ve got me second guessing ;).
Get the 1250 the 850 doesn’t stand a chance against the big Dog!
Yeah, I agree with @Kato J experience, the 1250 is kinda head and shoulders above the 850, IMO.
I tested the 850. Then the 1250. It was an obvious choice. The 1250.......
would this be a good bike for a new rider?

So I’ve been considering trading my bike for a 22 bmw gsa adventure local to me

The bike died because at 9:54 you turned off the engine while trying to switch ride modes. 😅
Nice catch, that was absolutely it. ✌🏽
