Sure, these lyrics and song titles may seem like they would suggest the opposite of positivity, but it's all about how you allow yourself to perceive it. While I have no fear in death and believe our sentience and souls are eternal, I generally have a less than positive view of humanity as a whole and the direction that the world is going, and I feel like I am impartial to whether or not we survive extinction either self-imposed or cosmically imposed. I feel it's all good for something, it's better to have loved and lost as they say. Just another memory to add to our Akashic Records in this Pleroma. Another step in our soul evolution.
A long time without news about Aeon made me think that I´d never listen to an album again... when the first song came out "God Ends Here", I loved it and knew that they return came with all power. I wasn't wrong. Powerful album!!!

Yes and no... the problem with sticking to the same sound is it becomes dated. I think keeping to roots but modernising the sound is the way to go. Possibly adding new elements etc. I do agree though that bands that completely change their sound within a single album is not cool

Look at bands like Deicide and Kataklysym and Napalm Death... Getting better and better as they get older! Even Carcass are back with a new album and the few songs I've heard are great!

It's like an amalgamation of all the best aspects of Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide and Behemoth in each band's prime. Top notch death metal, inspired by top tier bands at the peak of their careers! REALLY great stuff!
I fully concur. I sell AEON to the uninitiated as “today’s version of DEICIDE” and totally hear MORBID’s influence (especially the ‘Altars’ period). The Swedes bringing us the death metal supreme. Outstanding album.

I'm a huge Aeon fan, when Path of Fire came out, that was top notch death metal. That was around the time Nile Behemoth Origin had absolute killer albums come out too. Aeon was right up there with them. Then Nils left, and we got Aeon Black which was in its own right pretty cool. But we didn't need another one, we didn't need another one 9 years later. It might even be a tad slower than Aeons Black. Maybe it's just ring rust, I'm glad they put something together after all this time. But this is a few steps behind everyone else for sure.
