PLEASE REMEMBER: Open a normal account, not an ISA as you can only open one per tax year and I don't want you to make that mistake - see what you think of the platform first before commiting.
wow so a complete 180!? awesome video too by the way - thanks for the info
💪💪💪, what a great knowledgable videos! Thank you for it indeed!
Just saved my day, many thanks!
Thanks for the complete insight.. Which authority does holds our share which we are buying through different providers ?
Excellent information, thank you so much ..!!!
Awesome info. Thank you 🙏
Fractional shares are not allowed in ISA etf. What do you do about that?
Fabulous video ❤❤❤❤
Hi Chris, I deeply appreciate you sharing all this information! Thanks very much.
A question from my side, when they shut down the business a few years ago, did they instantly pay back the amount that users have in their trading 212 account to users’ preferred bank account?
Hey Naz, as far as I’m aware all they did is paused sign ups so new people couldn’t join 😊
Pretty good information. Was useful in the way of informing. And in general to me. Cheers
As you’ve bought your stocks outside of your pie you need to import them into the pie, quick and easy
Thanks I'll check that out! I did ask the team and they said it wasn't possible - strange.
@@chrispalmer24 Did you manage to do it ?
Yeah, I was going to comment this! You just scroll down to the bottom of the pie, click more options, then choose to import or export any investments in the pie.
Can someone help. Why is my trading 212 showing mw stocks in dollars
How do I get an isa
NO FSCS protection on 212 funds earning interest. A hugely important point that has not been mentioned.
If you open the isa account but havent paid into it can you open another?
Thanks for the video! Q: Can I open a regular account, play around, and then open an ISA account? In this case, can I transfer stocks from the regular account to the ISA account?
also, there is a "minimum deposit" required to receive £100. Do you know what's this deposit size is?
That's it! I'd always open a regular one first so you can be sure you like it :) I'd do the same on Invest Engine too - I have al ink for them which gets you a bonus too. Hmm. It's a random free stock up to £100 - I've had some around £60-80 and most average to £15 honestly, but it's way better than most platforms.
Might be worth mentioning the share lending isnt possible in an ISA anyway? As far as i am aware they arent allowed to lend any securities that are held within an ISA even if you wanted to? Unless im mistaken
Yep that's right, thanks for adding!
What do you mean by long arm?
Thank you for this. It is the most helpful. I have a question though. If you have these different accounts, do you have to put money for both or can you use both accounts with one same deposit?
Hey! You’ll have different accounts on invest and isa if that’s what you mean? You can have multiple pies within one account to split your portfolio if you’d like ☺️
@@chrispalmer24 Thank you. That's good, so I just lose the money I put that other account if I want to do foreing exchange😅. I allready tried with practise mode and it didn't go well... have to learn some more.
Hi Chris, thanks for the free share, just opened a normal account to have a play. One initial comment is that the fund ongoing charges aren't shown when choosing between funds meaning you have to open the KII document of each to find it. Pretty sure that's better on other platforms or am I missing a trick? Thanks
Hey Alex, I do find that a tad annoying, I think I almost know the ones I use off by heart so probably don't look enough - I think as long as you stick to the main ones you'll be fine :) what free share did you get?
@@chrispalmer24 You're right it's a minor frustration, I only noticed as I am doing my 6 monthly check of making sure there aren't cheaper versions of the index funds I hold. Can always do that on another platform with the 'sort by cost' function I suppose. My free share was AAPL (£11).
A big issue I found with 212 is that its really awkward if you want to sell one of your positions within a pie
It's really easy you just need to export that stock from the pie then you can sell it
Yep thats it! Thanks for helping@@bagballgolf2406
very simple.. you withdraw thexact amount for the position you want or export a specific stock
How do you transfer an ISA from say Freetrade to 212?
I keep loosing in real trade but win in Demo.
Should I give up on Trade?
What should I do?
How may I do better?
What I'm I doing incorrectly?
here is my problem I have been making losses trying to make trade. I thought to trade demo is just like the real..can anyone help me out or at least tell me on what to do.
Hi Dear
can I use 212app to buy shares in real estate investment funds?
What are the best REITs In UK?
Yes, you can.
I'd recommend IUKP (on the London Stock Exchange).
Hi I was wondering how do we get the certificate to show we’ve got an ISA in stocks and shares to give to an accountant?
Sorry I was watching the video to decide between T212 and Invest Engine and have no experience using T212. So not a direct answer, but note that you don't need to declare ISAs to HMRC (as long as you followed the guidelines of how many ISAs per year and £20k limit), hence not to the accountant as well.
Your trading platform has a legal duty to inform the HMRC when you create an isa account.
Fantastic review, solid and robust arguments, however smells a bit like fake marketing as a brutally honest opinion presentation shouldn’t promote and ask for any free shares for the reviewed company. Makes me feel that your interest is shifted towards getting the free shares rather than presenting objectively a trading platform. Still gonna invest via T212! Thanks for the video!
No problem, I completely understand. Honestly it’s how I can afford to make the videos, I’d prefer to leave it out but can’t afford to - this video took 25 hours and TH-cam pays me about £30 sadly. The hope is that people sign up to justify it, I also use any money generated to help cover the time I put in to other videos without links 🙂 just prefer to be transparent. (I actually show how much I get too- will be there in a video soon) glad you found it helpful!
Giving a free share for the information given is a fair price on comparison. All the TH-cam analysts mention the promo codes. You both gain a free share.
Hello Chris! I am a new subscriber and I would like to know what you think about the customer service of Trading 212?
Hi Aniana! I think it seems pretty reasonable from what I can tell. I would say you tend to get "better" service in some ways from the more expensive providers, like phone support, but unfortunately you pay for it in fees to cover the costs. I've had quite good support from them though :) I and I ask quite prying questions as you can imagine.
Why would you stay away from German and Italian stock exchanges? You were talking about life strategy funds at the time you said it ? Just wondering why you would stay away from those exchanges?
They may be okay, but I would definitely just stick to the UK versions, simpler for tax purposes and currency conversion
@@chrispalmer24 ok thanks Chris maybe different for me because I invest in euro and do use the ISE for that purpose ( no fx fee )
Do they have ready made portfolios? If not which platform would you recommend for this. I’m new to all of this and I want to invest but I have no idea
Hey Tracy, not as far as I'm aware but I really don't advise them anyway, I'd just got a world index fund, low cost like VWRP is a good starting point, I'm posting a video with the two I own tomorrow which is cheaper :)
@@chrispalmer24 thank you Chris. I am very new to this and all seems like rocket science. I have watched your video and you explain everything so well but i have no idea how to sell or buy, managing the account and everything that goes with it☹️
Hi Chris. In your video you talk about share lending. Your opinion is that this is good thing because you make a few pennies back from it. If someone is borrowing your shares they want to sell them to make them go down in price so they can buy them back at a cheaper price. I feel this is like giving someone a gun to shoot you with. Am i wrong in thinking this is insanity to give someone else the ammunition to make you lose money.
Hey Rafiq, if done properly it should all be completely safe and you are covered - I think it's fine, and to be hones it rarely happens, can't happen within an ISA either, so I'm fine having a few extra pennies, I don't really feel at risk at all from it
Shorting stocks doesn't often cause the price to go down much. The interest more than compensates. Prices do sometimes fall after people short stocks, but usually, they shorted the stock because they thought the price was going to fall, not the other way around.
You said at the start that T212 don’t take a spread on the GIA. Looks like they still do on the ISA account though?
Hey Liam, there shouldn't be anything in the spread in an ISA either, as far as I'm aware spread is only used within the CFD platform now - at least that's what they've told me
@@chrispalmer24that’s odd, when you ask the chatbot it says there is and specifies the same on the ISA, also when you google a ticker and compare the price to T212 there is a difference. Are you able to share exactly what your contact said?
Hi, I'm not sure your referral link is working/valid any more? Doesn't mention anything about a referral bonus when I click on it.
Hey Kevin, it should be this link that'll get you it - www.trading212.com/invite/GbarmWk0 should say I've invited you and the steps to sign up - pretty sure it's still working! Let me know if not.
@@chrispalmer24 Hi, I should have been more specific, it's the £25 Invest Engine link I meant!
Great content as always. I've set up and account with invest engine and may look to move away from freetrade. How long does it take for the £25 bonus to show up?
Should be there within 5 days of opening your account, did it come through okay? :)
Did it come through?
Thoughts on Interactive Brokers vs these?
I think good if you aren't based in the UK but their platform is quite complex for most people, and the fee structure honestly. Good if you want the learning curve, but trading212 is so much simpler and easier
Nice one Chris, currently watching your video… what are your thoughts on trading 212 compared to HL?
I only buy index funds, set and forget
T212 would definitely be cheaper but HL aren't all that bad to be honest, if you use regular investor it's pretty cheap, maybe just sign up and see what you think of the platform in comparison, it would save you some money. IE would be cheaper again if it's only index, thats who I use for it.
Went through the link verified everything put 20 quid in to get to the point where I could receive up to 100 pound free and it never came back up , so is that a rouse or??
Nope it's 100% legit - Has it come through? It may not be instant as it'll need to register. I've had over 300 people go through it so it's definitely working :)
@@chrispalmer24 it eventually worked thanks pal, it was apple in dollars had to to pay a currency fee so sold and I'm sticking to my own currency for now just testing the ground with very low invests lost in first day made Abit in the second but as I say I'm using very little , just trying to get my finger on when to buy and sell trying to read the dips and raises the best I can and have time for
@@chrispalmer24this is the second comment I've seen from a few months ago and they've not replied to you so what is going on? Are these people not receiving their 100 pounds?
How much is your stocks covered £85k?
Bit Panda any good?
Never used them to be honest
HL needs to modernise its site/app (update its UI and add features) and lower its fees otherwise the likes of T212 will take a chunk of their customer base
I agree. I quite like the app tbh compared to the desktop. I do think they need to make the fees clearer too as there’s quite cheap ways to buy on there too. My LISA costs peanuts tbh
Nice sir
DIVIDEND INVESTORS ATTENTION! Lended stocks do not pay you dividend, but you will receive payment equaling the amount of dividend. THAT will not be TAXED as dividend, but in other way.
So he's changed his mind now because he's being paid. Zero credibility.
No I was being paid before if I recommended them, they were closed before so I couldn’t recommended them
Why did you say the date’s two different way’s? Please stick with two or twenty! Next time say twenty 06,as in 1906,etc. to go from 20 to two is really silly and hypocrisy! What is it about the number 0 that bothers so many people that they won’t twenty hundred as in 1900 or twenty 09,and NOT two thousand 9. It’s NOT the two thousandth’s but the twenty hundred’s!
😂where did I do this? To be honest it's more likely me making a mistake, I say Trading "2" a lot in this, but it's not worth the hassle to re do it all to be honest. Just the couple I spotted would have added 15 hours work
Yeah, I don't think investing in stocks and shares is for me after all. My level of income's too low and at 60 it'd take way too long for me to make any really sizeable returns so I could start living it up. I'll stick with me ISA, the one investment I do pay into every month. If I had a lot of disposable income, it'd be a lot of fun playing the market though. Of course, it only takes one idiot in the form of Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Kim Jong Un, or even Elon Musk to screw investment portfolios up for everyone -- and there's plenty more idiots where they come from.
