Would you be able to visually tell if these are not real? Some "48 year numismatist" said I should look again that they are fake...I am a foreign banknote guy...so there is an unlikely chance. They are all sent off in the mail. Should know in a month's time.
@@NumismaticNoteswithBenjamin Hard to tell with video - but if they are fake they are REALLY good fakes. Especially taking the time to make that many different ones, with the counter stamps and pencil writing on them, etc. Being fake never crossed my mind watching your video, which is a good quality video - no blurry areas, I can see the "texture" paper pattern coming through. My guess is they are good!
I used to ask people if they had change for a thousand and they would always find that funny. So many people don't even know that 1000 was in circulation. I've never seen a 500 bill though thats cool.
All of this happened in Oklahoma. They were brought into the coin shop where I shot the video. They were graded and sold on. It was a neat experience. I am not sure that any bank in OKC still keeps notes like this in their vaults. But I am sure there are surprises once you get to banks in smaller towns...
These notes all came in as a mini hoard. It is not common to have this quantity and condition in hand. This video was shot, and follow ups were made after authentication and grading.

Brunei still have 1000 dollar banknotes in circulation. For other currency, there is 1000 franc banknote which is more than 1000 US dollars.
I was saying most people even today have never seen this many 500 or 1000 US dollar bills together.
