Are race boards just for racing?... No. With many of you asking about which board to buy, "a Race iSUP or Touring iSUP?" in this SUPboarder video we look at 2 boards from Shark SUP and try to answer that question.Shark SUP do a range of Touring boards 11'8" x 30', 12'6" x 30 and 12'6" x 32" and the boards cross over in sizes with the Race boards at 12'6" x 27', 14' x 27' and 14' x 25'.

Is this the same Shark company as the 2020/21 Shark iSups as the logo is different ? I'm looking for a review for the 20/21 model. Cheers and great review.

Hi Paul, great question. Yes, this is the same Shark SUP brand. They underwent a complete rebrand and re-design when they partnered with the Shark Trust in late 2019 (I believe). We have done a review on the Touring boards here: th-cam.com/video/TzIzH1AXlO8/w-d-xo.html
We haven't done a full review on the Race board, but they are the same and can be seen here fast forward to 2:35 th-cam.com/video/FUdVyrOSVqU/w-d-xo.html
      Hope this helps. Thanks, Beau

I bought the 14’ shark speed race board you reviewed and recommended summer 2017 and I am still very happy with it. I don’t attend races but I like to paddle distances of 6miles with a good speed so I appreciate the good speed of the board. I don’t have the space to have a 14’ hard board so I appreciate the inflatable.
Are there changes of this board beside the fin box and the graphic design compared to the predecessor?

Thanks for the comment and glad you are enjoying your board. The centre stringer material looks very different and this has made the board stiffer. Thanks Reuben

Nice blue leash: what is it? If the Starboard Lightweight leash, what is the length of it and does it stretch a lot so that you could walk approx. 1 m towards the nose?

Eagle eyes 😉. Yes it is and most brands have a leash like this now in there range. But no its really just good for standing in your normal standing area... unless you attach it further up the board(like the handle) They aren't the longest! Thanks Reuben

So, why are comparisons not done between conventional and inflatables? I hope to see some in the near future.
