Or, you know, say it how it is. As a person with an ASD we often can't hear and understand the intonation of what they are saying, and so we end up like he does (dependig on who it is).

Oh yeah. I’ve gotten into trouble by overreacting to things I perceived as being serious but was actually sarcasm. I’m good at using it, bad at identifying it apparently.

I guess this doesn't count as sarcasm, but I might as well ask. A manager at my last job made me feel patr onized. One day, she was giving me a firm lecture on filter in the office. And yeah, I'm sure she was right in some ways--I do make mistakes--but she didn't put in room for respect and delicacy. This is one of those being-right-VS-being-kind situations, I feel. She didn't even tell me _what_ I said at work that was upsetting. I don't know if any bantering was misunderstood, or if I accidentally started a sensitive topic, or if I inadvertently made a thoughtless joke. It was all vague. And she said I could only talk about work and school. She even said to her fellow manager "Is there anything you want to add?" *_right in front of me._* Now here's where the possible sarcasm or patronzation occurs: the next day, she said "How are you?" You can't just get in someone's face and make them look fooIish, and then ask them how they are the _next_ day. *_Of course_* I wasn't doing well. Was she making fun of me or something?

the difference should be in the fact that sarcasm is used to insult, it has a negative intent behind it, while irony is neutral. its a very fine line but i would say the example in this video is ironic, not sarcastic

i think you got irony and sarcasm mixed up in some examples:
irony is just stating the opposite without any real intentions of hurting someone's feelings - the weather is great today (when it's not), irony is like soft, good-natured humour, white magic
sarcasm is saying something opposite with the intention of hurting or at least pointing out some bad behaviour in another person (you did a great job tidying up here - you did not and i expect you to do better next time, or at least feel ashamed now ;), sarcasm is like black magic fireballs you hurl at your opponents)

Sarcasm - addressing the irony of a person, place, thing or situation or discovery/observation. Sometimes with the purpose to be humorous, express one's feelings or thoughts subtly, to mock or show contempt for any person place, thing and or situation.

Jeepers H Crackers, yet ANOTHER site that misses the definition of sarcasm... at least until the end examples...
See how the comments at the end were directed at another person's behavior? THAT'S sarcasm. It's specifically intended to put someone else down to their face, while using words that are denotatively positive. Why do so many people screw that up?
The other examples (about the weather) are of VERBAL IRONY. Saying the opposite of one's intended meaning to describe a situation, to put oneself down, to make an observation about life... NOT SARCASM. Verbal irony. Saying something snarky TO or ABOUT another person for the sole purpose of putting them down.... SARCASM.
Or, more succinctly put: "You KNOW these video makers MUST be correct in their definition of sarcasm because BRITISH people are ALWAYS SOOOOOOO smart... How PERRRRFECT and wise they all are. Pure GEEEEEENIUS." Now THAT'S sarcasm.
