I really miss Tumut, it's a great little town. I see you are heading out of town towards Talbingo to climb the escarpment up onto the Snowy Mountains. You should go and camp at Yerongabilly and see the cave and thermal pools. I can see you now have your old joy and fitness back, it's good to see.

Great episode. It is criminal that Nightwish are not better known here in Australia. I became hooked on their Live Wacken 2013 vid in front of 82000 fans, and now they are my and my 80 year old parents favourite band. The trick is only current singer Floor and only live versions. For me one of your best videos ever, but maybe not for the reasons you'll think ?. I love motorbikes & adventure, but equally as much I'm a bit of a mad professor, inventor creative sorta bloke. Over the years I've built bespoke motorbikes, mountain bikes and all sorts. I'm also a big fan of Nightwish, I have the album though had no idea about the wine. I still think it's they're best album & hope the wine lived up to the music?. Thanks for sharing the adventures.

I had a bang-bang robot project that was to use recycled parts. I chose a motorcycle steering head and fork tubes to give me two axis. The teacher gave me a printer slider and head as a third axis, but I couldn't reduce friction on the fork tubes enough to be reliably repetitive.

That was really thought provoking, the guy building the car, says he doesn't expect to finish it, but he enjoys building it. So whats the point (not derogatory), i am not sure I get the point, but he obviously does, he is very skilled and chooses to do it, and the best of luck/enjoyment/fulfilment to him, but it's got me thinking what ( and why) to do when I retire in a few months for the rest of my life. Yes it’s true some guys love just working on their bikes but don’t actually worry about riding them, it’s their hobby, strange yes as even though I am an engineer by trade, I only do minimal repairs, riding is my passion, I guess having earn’t my living by repairing and maintaining engines and various machinery of all descriptions now it’s time to have some fun and do something else.
As a mutual friend of Alf's, he does it not only for something to pass the time but also as a way to express himself. I think the fact that he may never finish it is because it is somewhat forever evolving. That and he has completed many amazing labor intensive creations over the years and health is finally catching up, hence the need to build a power hammer also.
@@mackdickson1209 the man is very talented. Anyone who can build a car like that has true artistic vision. But, to be able to build the tools necessary to complete the vision is on another level.
