I love fishing and my who life I have been obsessed with it but recently things have started to go downhill, my relationship with my parents isn’t that same, I am not as excited to fish as I used to be and I actually feel sad all of the time. I am writing this because tonight my parents came home from their anniversary dinner drunk, and I’m ok with that. What I am not okay with though is the things they say when they are drunk. We have 3 dogs and 5 cats, and sometimes they have accidents. I came home from fishing today to see a puddle of dog pee on the floor. As a 13 year old I cleaned it up and threw it away. And my parents asked me why there was a grocery bag outside, to which I responded with what I just said. And this turned into an argument where my mom made a “joke” about how I should take my dog out back and get rid of him. And I freaked out as any sane person would I said to my mom that you can’t say things like that. To which she responds with GIVE ME YOUR PHONE and screams at the top at her lungs at me and chases me down the stairs. The reason why I am writing this is because if you are watching this video and are going through the same things as me I want you to know that you are not alone and that things will get better and to never give up

It's a spiral wrapped rod lol they're made like that where the tip is on the bottom like a spinning rod and gives you more leverage and puts less strain on the guides for casting rods

Inspired by your videos and “One Day Challenge” episodes, I got the gears and tools and have started now making my own lures. Now it is a pike season and it has been great to catch a nice size pikes with own lures. So, thank you sooo much! You really impacted my life in a great way!

@@hlifino1 the company that makes the rod is called low down customs they make probably the best swim bait rod you can buy
It’s an acid wrapped rod. Not super common, but a few companies make them.

If you handle copper or brass you can smell it on your hands... inquiring minds want to know...
Curious... Granted you’re not actually smelling the metal it’s the oils on your skin being catalyzed by the metal. The bulk of the smell is cause by 1-octen-3-one. But I wonder if the metal in the blood catalyzes anything that would cause that smell we associate with metal! Under further research I suppose that is the same reason blood smells “metallic” when it contacts your skin. So perhaps when said type of fish is bleeding the blood might catalyze the oils on its skin and produce a more potent metallic smell...

I absolutely love red wing black birds. They have a very extensive song with many notes. Definitely one of my favorite. Especially when the crappie are spawning here in MS. Caught some amazing fish this year. Really enjoy your videos. Got me into tying my own jigs.

If you're talking about the guides, they're like that intentionally. By wrapping the guides around the rod, it can help prevent the line from coming into contact with the blank.

IF you see this, I found a way to easily avoid scratching my aluminum in the vice.
Make a clay (or w/e really) mould of the vice clamps, then create hard rubber (you know what I mean) covers for the clamps.
Easy on/off, and cheap to make/replace.
No more scuffs.
