I'm a grown ass man sobbing like baby over here. God dammit I'm gonna miss G. Go get a cup, brother. You deserve it so much. And thank you for everything you've done for the Flyers and for Philadelphia. This will always be a home for you and your family. You'll always be a legend here sir!

I hear what you are saying I was the same way the other night. I was the same way when Bobby Clark retired. And then Bobby comes out to give G the silver stick. And Bobby was having trouble walking Niagara falls man. I don't think I was as bad as when Mike Schmidt retired and I was a mess when he stopped playing. But am hoping for G to win the cup this year and then come back home and let's win it here.

A shame the organization never did enough for him. His career started with a contender, and Holmgren just destroyed this organization. They never gave him a pure goal scorer to play with. Hope he lands in Florida or Colorado to go on a run. He deserves a chance

Anyone that doesn’t like him and says he’s not a leader because they didn’t win it all, in his opinion 1000th game interview he mentions one of his best moments as a player was seeing his teammate coming back from cancer, you can’t get a better leader than that they just never built a complete team around him.

Yes G us Philadelphia fans are hard on our players. Because we go to work everyday day in and day out and we work hard for a few bucks. Players get millions so when we see that the players are not working hard we are going to let you know. And besides that Bobby Clark spoiled us. That man played with diabetes and he played hard every shift blood over his face and Jersey and he just kept on playing. Now days they will stop the game so he can get looked at. We just want to win in Philadelphia we are out on that ice with you guys. Just be happy you didn't play on the other teams in the 70s cause we would scare the shit out the other players. They didn't want to play the old spectrum it was called the Philadelphia flu . Me and my brother had seats on row one when the glass was lower. Wayne Gretzky's first year playing he fell down on the ice right in front of me and my brother we called him everything in the book. He got up and looked at us like we were NUTS. He looked scared to death.

When I fist played hockey striker was the most convenient position.
In hockey, when you choose a position it s for all the rest of the year.
If you respect the positions from the positions, when you re center(position) you have to back up defense, but at a very high degree,it s a attack and defense position.
Fo me it s something bad, cause I can take back the pock from everyone everywhere. To much defense playing.
And to always defend it s not very fun.
Well as defensor,I ve tryed once,my "way of playing" would be to take off the poc from the opponent,so you can move backyards, but you have to take off the poc, with a move very fast.
But as striker, cause of cheats cause of opponents sticks,it s to try many times if necessary and cause you come from angles.Try once to stay behind in front of the opponent, and to move backyard fo a second o 2 then to take him off the poc at a right moment.
Or to get from straight backyard angle would be something else;cause of what you have to make in addition from this.
Fo course I could force even mo to take off the poc or to follow them up to the end even in defense zone but that would be useless.

@@se7ente3n After becoming captain at age 25 (still young), he just didn't play with the same intensity as he did prior. Since then, there's been so many games where he's just not noticable through 60 minutes. Hasn't won the Gene Hart award for player with the most heart since 2011. TWENTY-ELEVEN. That's voted on by the Flyers Fan Club, by the way. So you know it's pretty objective that he doesn't play with that much heart. How about a couple seasons ago where he played 82 games and had a total of 28 hits? NO first line center should EVER play a full season and have 28 hits. Super talented player, just not a leader.
