"Nicole Kidman been wearing purple for 3 days in a row just like Bruce Willis in I See Dead People."
Don't ever change J. Hahahahaha
😂 Classic J! 🤣🤣🤘
He said “ I Carmen Sandiego’d that shit!” I wonder how many viewers will understand that reference?
🎶🎶 where in the world is....🎶🎶😊
Me! Me! Me! 🎶 Where in the world is Carmen San Diego 🎶
Thought it was Sandie God...like the frick is that? Like the cookie?
Me
Computer Lab baby!!
" Nah, thats the clan" 😂😂 that got me aint gonna lie 😅😅
That got me too. I'd prefer dealing with real ghosts than those racist imposters.
She screamed like she’s late for work 😂😂😂
I died when he said that!😂😂😂
She just remembered she had married Tom Cruise
That cracked me up!! LOL
he had so many great one-liners in this!
😂😂😂😂
'I want my daddy!"...."He went to go get some milk"...Classic! Lol!
"why aren't they wearing sheets and clanking chains?!"
cuz they ain't in the klan.
ROFL
Right?! I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry!!
"Is that when she went dumb?" Dumb, in this context, means unable to speak. Like how Helen Keller was "blind, deaf and dumb."
'Don't they got a ghost CPS or something?' 😂 You're the best! Well done for calling it! I saw this aged 12 in the cinema and the whole room jumped when the old lady opened the cupboard door. A now classic twist on the haunted house story! It's a great one to watch people react to and you nailed it!
J: “ Why are they so pale? They’re ghost white “
Well, about that….
The mother went after the kids while they were sleeping. She smothered Nicholas first while he was asleep so he didn’t know what happened. Anne woke up while her brother was being attacked & was aware when her mother kiIIed her. She was too young to understand that they were dead but she knew her mother had harmed her & her brother. That’s why she kept hinting that her mother had done something horrible & that’s why she was so angry & confrontational with her mother.
The father died in the war & returned home for a final goodbye. He knew that his wife had kiIIed their children & that’s why he wasn’t happy to see her. Great job figuring it out though it does take some of the fun out of the reveal.
A lot of modern movies have stolen from great films like this one, so it makes sense that "modern audiences" can figure a lot of these tried and true tropes out nowadays.
Just curious though, how do you KNOW this is the case? Did you guess or did they lay the details out in an interview? They never explicitly state the details of Nicholas being asleep and all that so I just want to know what your source is.
@princesslina4043. Read it in an article/interview about the director, Alejandro Amenabar. The article was talking about his work & this movie was mentioned. Don’t remember which magazine it was in because it was years ago. It was after her won a bunch of awards for another movie & the article gave an overview of his work.
@@reservoirdude92 True that also it's hard not to hear about the twist in movies like this one the sixth sense fight club not saying that's what he's doing just sayin'. Some of these reactors are full of it.
Yeah reactor videos are never as fun when the reactor figures stuff out
_The Others_ is the last genuinely suspenseful ghost story ever made. Indirectly adapted from the late Victorian novella _The Turn of the Screw_ by Henry James, it stays true to the 19th century source material while bringing the setting forward to WW2. Grace reading from Genesis as the camera pans over candle-lit illustrations is among the best introductory sequences ever put to film. The scene where she goes to face the intruders, ascending the stairs while clutching her rosary, whispering the Lord's prayer, is magnificent. You can really feel her terror. _They_ are the ghosts, trapped in the very limbo she had warned her children about.
On subsequent viewings, you will notice subtle hints as to what is really going on. In the beginning, Grace wakes up screaming; she was having a nightmare about suffocating her children. Mrs Mills tells Grace that grief can make people do the strangest things; Grace killed her children in a psychotic break after learning that Charles died. When we see Grace retrieve the shotgun, she pauses, as if remembering something; the last time she held it, she was committing suicide. Grace mentions that she is suffering migraines; she had shot herself in the forehead. Ann's breathing becomes laboured when she is agitated; the last thing the children would have experienced is the desperation to breathe as Grace smothered them. Grace mentions that the fog has never been so thick; it is the boundary of the limbo she is now imprisoned within, and she cannot venture beyond it, as Mills and Tuttle indicate.
What do you think about The Haunting of Hill House?
I really like the 1999 film, even though the CG is ridiculous. I love the look of the house and I like the cast.
@@ArnoldTohtFan that was a solid movie for sure, but I mean the Netflix series. They're both based off the same book I think.
I don't watch anything from Netflix, or anything contemporary at all.
Well Bertha Mills wasn't kidding when she said Lydia is older than she looks.😅
This movie right here, this movie right here, they did their thing. 🎉
The Spanish make amazing films, that's for sure.
3:04 "you made me forget what #$!@ing year it was" 😆
This movie's a classic. You're in for a surprise.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t. 😞
@@rickardroach9075 Nope, not even close.
I saw this in theaters at 10-years-old, gosh darn creepy movie. Now a part of me just can't help but crack up because of Scary Movie 3.
"If a fire break out you better bang on something, let us know" 😂
Oh snap!!! It’s about to be on! Nicole Kidman and those kids gave some amazing performances.
Creepy children AND Nicole Kidman, you know this one is gonna be a banger!
“Are you late for work?” 😂 I know I scream in terror when I’m late for work lol
Literally me on Friday 🤣
"Grace; What do you want?" 🤣🤣🤣Just another reminder of why you're one of my favorite reactors.
I don't like what she did, but I understand what broke her. She was stressed to the max. Her husband was at war; the Germans had invaded the island; her children were special needs; it was probably hard to get food because of the war; she was also a bit tightly wound and was a religious fanatic. It was the perfect storm for something horrible to happen.
I appreciate that the schedule doesn't just rely on polls and sometimes Jay just wants to watch something, so it goes on the schedule.
The schedule on have polls for Friday movies. Every other movie Blank or myself picks - J
“ghost CPS” sent me😂😂
"if they're ghosts then why aren't they wearing sheets and clanking chains?"
Caus they're not in the Klan 🤣 I had to pause because I was laughing so hard
Being allergic to the sun is a real thing Photosensitivity. Shits wild asf
I LOVE the way this film is shot; the gothic atmosphere is so rich you can feel it. This really was another one that, like The Sixth Sense, you DEFINITELY needed to not get spoiled before watching.
Also, you need more Guillermo del Toro in your life. Y'all know which ones (spoiler alert: it's all of them haha) ❤
I didn't figure this out until very near the end. Much respect Sir.
Best supernatural thriller since “The Changeling” with George C Scott. No gratuitous gore, just isolation and quiet dread as the tension slowly ratchets up.
And arguably the best performance of Nicole Kidman’s career.
Bless you! You are my favorite comment today. The Changling is my favorite scary movie, ever!!! ❤
The Changeling is also underrated. Excellent movie, so creepy!!
Omg, the progress circle over J's head when he paused the movie killed me 😂
Your math was mathin', J.
Always on the side of Ann! Knew you would be too, that child actor is fierce!
“Nah that’s the klan” took me OUT 😂😂😂 facts.
Dammit. Sherlock Jay pieced it all together.
This movie always freaked me out more than most because I think this is how it really is for ghosts. They're at varying stages of acceptance or knowledge of their deaths. But otherwise, they're just carrying on living their lives as normal like everyone else.
“That’s why she has migraines.” 😂😂 Now that they all know tell me that daughter isn’t gonna call her out any time she’s being ridiculous. Ain’t got nothing to lose.
"I want my daddy!"
J....
" He went to go get some milk"
Me...
😂
lol, “Grace, what do you want??”
The padawan has now truly become the master... sniff sniff... I feel like a proud father ngl.
😂😂😂
So what happened was, because the children had to have no light, she kept the curtains drawn for herself, too, and gave herself a vitamin D deficiency, which causes depression and other illnesses which is why she did what she did. She went insane.
I've been surprised, the last few reactions I've seen for this the reactors didn't know the disease is a real disease. I thought it was something everyone knew about. lol
It’s not like it’s such a common thing as grass being green. - J
Saw a documentary about it years ago. A ton of children with protective gear on in their own homes when the sun is up. They played at night when the sun was down. I don't remember what it was called though.
Got my snacks ready for this. Can't wait to see Jay's reaction when he finds out the twist
The Others was my favorite Childhood Ghost story movie ever made especially it was made by Alejandro Amenábar and Executive producer Tom Cruise
It's such a great example of how atmosphere can be even more scary than actually seeing ghosts or monsters or gore.
"This is the mom of the year right here." Well...... 😛
When I said I said that with full sarcasm lol - J
"Ghost CPS" I'm weak 🤣
39:17 I was just expecting a “shut up” right here. I wasn’t expecting J to bring out the gourmet shit.
When I watched this the first time my cat was sleeping behind my head and at a scary moment she screeched like a tea kettle in her sleep, woke up and ran across the room.
I've seen this movie multiple times and never once did it occur to me that her migraines were being caused by a shotgun blast to the head! That's brilliant!
tell Blake to put Stephen King's red Rose into the schedule. Just trust me on his brother.
I remember that!!
Congrats JL, you've reached a new level of Movie -figure-outism XD lol
One of the most underrated movies.
You figured it out so fast!😂 fantastic reaction as always! ❤❤❤
I love how proud you were that you figured it out. You guys are always awesome. ❤
The twist at the end....GENIUS ❤
Congratulation J for predicting that they were the ghosts ! And you are so right, "The Others" have the same vibes as "The Sixth Sense" : true masterpieces in their own rights ! I personally loved them both and the twists were phenomenal !
Question.... With 8 people waiting for this to start... did 15 likes come from the thumbnail since the premiere hasn't even started yet? If so.... good job Blank!
I guess people know before the premiere that they can always rely on a great reaction from J, especially if the film is great!
Must’ve. I’ve been waiting on this one!
Liking it before it starts helps make it visible to more ppl. So basically it helps it to reach a wider audience - J
@@reservoirdude92Lol,that’s why I already clicked like because I already know the reactions going to be good😂
I liked it before it started. This man is always spot on- he deserves everything, so does blank 😊
I feel called out on the “wearing purple three days in a row”! It’s my favorite color and I wear it often!! 😊
Yes it’s Catelyn Stark in Game of Thrones!
I always feel sorry for poor Victor having to have all these ghosts walking around fighting and scaring him. The daughter probably bullied him all the time.
i think the dad part of the movie, gives away the twist
OMG! I missed the start but I’m so excited for this!!
Guillermo DelToro made an excellent gothic ghost story called The Devil’s Backbone. He also made Mimic ( not a ghost story, but it is a good monster movie).
Oh Maker, that is my 3rd favorite ghost story movie. I cried, it was so good. Damn it Del Toro!!!
This movie is brilliant. Every haunted house trope, with a twist at the end that turns everything on its head.
The purple is for mourning. Or maybe half-mourning which would be after 1 year passed. She is mourning her husband who died in the war.
"I'll call her by her first name for the rest of eternity" 🤣🤣
Hooray 🎉for you !! I never saw it coming !! 😅
The kid's condition is a real thing, called xeroderma pigmentosum. The door locking is so the kids don't accidentally walk into a sunlit room.
"We come this place... for magic. We come to AMC theaters to love, to cry, to care.... (and hopefully forgive those who do harm to others)... because we need that. All of us. That indescribable feeling we get... when the lights begin to dim. And we go somewhere we've never been before. Not just entertained but somehow reborn, together. Dazzling images on a huge silver screen. Sound that I can feel. Somehow heartbreak feels good in a place like this. Our heros feel like the best part of us. And stories feel perfect and powerful. Because here... they are." - Nicole Kidman
Bruh. This has to be your funniest reaction. I love your personality!
I can’t see that old lady without picturing her when she played the dirty old lady from “Yes Man”.
'Cause they not in the Klan." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
im so glad i randomly came across this video. you are so hilarious and sweet and you have SO many good movie reactions on your channel! i have like 20 tabs open right now to binge your videos LMAO
They used to put photos up of passed away loved ones in the 1800’s. They’d dress them up , put makeup on them and sit them in “natural” positions in chairs , sometimes on the bed , together with other family members if lost at the same time etc. it’s wild to look at t he photos but is what they used to do. I myself prefer having pictures of my mom when she was alive and happy , I could never put a photo of after she passed up. Great reaction EOM!
"Bae Bae kods" best animated movie back in the day
I love your reactions but I never expected you to turn into sherlock Holmes 😂😂😂
I am impressed. 😂
Good job figuring it out!
I love it when you pause and analyze things. Knowing the answers made this a lot better. Great video
Bro, i love your videos, and i have watched them since i dont when! The main reason why i kept watching you was because of your comments and you being yourself. The edditing, too Xd
Its like the sixth sense. When cole says "they only see what they want to see" 😮
You figured out the whole movie! That's why you're one of my favorite TH-camrs!
In the old days it was common for your family to have a photograph taken of your corpse because it would be the last they would ever remember you as.
You’re a movie sleuth. You’re on your game!!!
I’m so excited for you !! Love this !!❤🎉😮
"You stank mutha, see." Oh i I lost it there 🤣
J you are the first reactor I have watched that guessed that they were all dead that early. wow!
Off the thriller topic, Nicole Kidman and Anthony Hopkins in, The Human Stain.
It's a heartbreaker. And a great movie. ❤
First reaction I’ve seen to guess it right! Great reaction, love to see the horror reactions coming more and more
Dagnabbit!!! Holy moly, the fact that The Sixth Sense was a spoiler for you - it’s rich and aggravating as f. Dammit
Still enjoyed it, of course. I dig you forever
Lol it had the same vibes - J
@@EOMReacts You are absolutely correct. Still, *sigh*… you got robbed, man! I blame Bruce Willis, js. I smell a law suit haha. Thank you for your content, as always. 🥂
This is one of the best reactions ever put to YT. 👏
I am so glad y'all got to this! One of my favorite movies!
Ghost CPS cracked me up.
37:10 If I wasn't already sitting down, I would have fallen over laughing.
How often do we get a ghost movie told entirely from the ghosts perspective never forget first time I watched this was with my older sister
Just watched this movie myself for the first time. And then hopped on to hear to watch your reaction. X
With your great humor, watching this reaction was comedy gold!!! 👍
First reaction of yours I’ve watched and I’ve subscribed 😂
Welcome to the family!
Fun reaction as usual.
I'd like to make a suggestion...
That you watch episodes of The Original Twilight Zone because you'll recognize many stories, characters, and themes that are directly based on TZ episodes -- some of which, to be fair, are based on stories written by the amazing writers of the time.
As you can guess, this movie is inspired by a couple of Twilight Zone episodes. The one I remember most is called "The Passerby" accept it took place at the end of the Civil War.
And if you recognize it, this is what happens in "Beetlejuice"
haha
Welcome to the horror fan club. You earned your stripes sitting though JASON Goes To Hell.
😂 "We gotta close the windows to meet your children?" Nah, something doesn't smell right. That's a meeting that never would've taken place. #QuittingOnTheFirstDay
“They’re ghost white”…that’s some solid unintentional foreshadowing.
Also, not a particularly great movie, but I don’t think there is another reactor on this platform that could do The Cell(2000) justice
when the lady askes the maid for the keys back and tells them to leave and accuses them of wanting to take over the house, something appears and disappears on your bed behind you. Right next to where the mirror was after it moved. lololol watch it. jooop and voop.
