Except blue has a bigger bottom end, and the P90 one has a bridge tone that's so damn good! That clinched it for me. The red one. I have a couple more P90 guitars and I think they most of the time are my favorite.
Cory - Fantastic review, especially with the frequency spectrum readout! I have the one with P90s (I am a lefty, and HB only sells that one.) I have P90 to mini humbucker adaptor rings and a pair of Guitar Fetish Minitrons I am about to put into this guitar. I am hoping the Gretsch style mini hums will add a bit more sparkle and definition to my sound. I like the articulation you get from Gretsch style pickups. They seem to fall in between single coils and humbuckers, giving a bit more beef than single coils, but also giving more clarity than humbuckers. Will see how this works out. I re examined your review to get an audible idea of how this change in pickups should result in my guitar. Thanks again for your very methodical, logical, spot--on review!
Thank you Mr. Mura, I've played exclusively acoustic instruments for almost my entire life. Indian and middle Eastern variety stringed instruments with mics at a larger venue. To cut to the chase I'm a newcomer to the guitar at only 3 years vs over 45 yrs on the other instruments. I could not tell a single coil from a p-90 from a humbucker if you held a sitar to my head. Your video just made the distinction between p-90s and buckers very clear. My next challenge will be the single coil pups as used on many Fender type instruments.

Awesome comparison. I'm new to HB's, got 2 and 2 more ordered. The TE90QM is on my list. The blue w/humbuckers is great for high gain but I want the P90's for that chimey hum-cancelling mid position clean tones.
Just catching up on some of your older videos. Love both of the finishes on both guitars. Never have been a Tele-shape fan. Both sound great and are priced where buying both is an option. Would love to see that Blue finish on the CST24 or other Super Strat shaped HB's. Keep up the good work!
What are you doing playing plain chords so we can hear the actual sounds? And waveforms? This is amazing. I was all set to hear another useless comparison video.
I had to put my headphones on so close did they sound. Both sound actually very good. I have a slight preference for the P90, it trace more definition I would say. Thanks for this video I loved hearing them back to back. Great job!
+Arjen Bruin i think of reshooting the video with my newer setup. eganter tweaker head and a sozer cabinet with a jensen falcon speaker. the setup now sounds more 'open' and can show the differences better imo. interested? 😊 thanks for watching

Daniel71 I don’t want to buy a cheap guitar to throw more money in it though .. I want it for what it is .. a cheap guitar .. I have 4 expensive guitars and one relatively expensive bass ... I just want a cheap guitar that I don’t have to worry about ya know ?
P90s definitely sound more alive to me.. or rather the humbucker sounds more "controlled" - a bit "dead" in comparison. A matter of personal taste I guess.The P90 really sings to me.
Thanks for the nice review, went there and bought that blue humbucker guitar and a black one with P 90 s looks like a Lp..they are easy to play, that Tele is a beast! I also bought an LP studio and a couple of other gadgets..once at home the coil tap button of the Lp fell off first use..so quality control??? Even at this price point..
i think you should use a song/songs to c pare guitars(it's easier to tell the difference when you're listening to something familiar i think i) great view though

Cory is right. Only playing part of a song doesn’t protect you. You can still get a threatening email from their Intellectual Property lawyer. While they are unlikely to actually sue you they are obliged to protect their IP. (Yes I work in this area).

Das war aber eine schnelle Antwort ! Ja, da hast du Recht, Humbucker haben etwas zugleich Schmutziges/Fettes und mit einem HSS Konfiguration kann man alles. Jedoch hätte ich gern die Rote mit Humbuckers gemocht :-)

Really cool, overall I prefer the humbucker sound because it have more body and sounds bigger.
Suggestion: Thomann should pay you a large sum of money,- your demos are going to sell a lot of guitars. Merry x-mas ! ;-)

Suprised how similar they were on the overdriven sound. They did sound different but considering the P90 is basically a single coil...

thats exactly what it sounds like to my ears too ^^ Got a p90 guitar and love it. Just the hum especially with gain can be a bit annoying :D

So basicaly the same except one hums and the other doesn't. I see why you decided to sell the p90 one. it was redundant

p90's sound awesome but they don't react well when you play them out in bars and stuff. atleast in my experience. they pick up a lot of interference.
