Seems like all the bloggers I follow who went through the all white phase, are now adding darks and lots of blue and white in accents and ceramics. And the ones who were a little dark academia , which is more me.... are now lightening up their spaces. I guess we all need a little change after a while. I love color , so never got on board with the white on white on white thing. Would love to get one of those tiny sewing machines. Small and affordable for making pillows covers, curtains runners. And, just love the great bed bench. Wood and rush seats give so much texture to a space.

I was recently in your neck of the woods at the Towne Shop on 82st and Broadway. So far our summer is starting out as a rainy one and I don't like it. Hi, love your channel. I need some advice- I would like to replace my old fashioned “Mantel” of my fireplace with a new white one. What I am not sure is if one gets a contractor to build one or does one buy one ready to be placed? Would love to hear your advice! Thanks a lot
You could do either! We have done both - rebuilt an entire mantle in our old house and we have just bought one to put on the wall. I think it would be a little more expensive to go the contractor route. If you do get one from a store they usually just screw into the wall.
Totally forgot your shop my room feature. The picture light is showing black and yours looks antique brass...did you use rub and buff or order antique brass?
Did the tiny sewing machine work well? It seems like it would be very uncomfortable like it would tip over easily from the weight of fabric and hard to maneuver the fabric in such a small center gap area (don’t know what that area is called).
