O.K. Shana- that first silver plated thing I believe is an antique butter keeper. You put ice in the bottom and the butter stays chilled- originally a spoon wasn't in the holder- it should be a butter spreader. The butter was kept cold because back in the day- no air conditioning and the butter would melt.
I have a ton of knitting needles. Everyone gives them to me because I knit, but I never use them, because they are sort of 'old fashioned'. I use circular needles because they are more versatile. I think jewelry is a GREAT option!
I think the brass platter is a table top.I think it sat on a wooden table. Love the jewelry you make. They used to make rings out of spoons when I was young.
I collect silver too. Hence my channel name lol. Mostly coins tho. I want to learn how to make rings and bells out of silver dollars. Silverware handles would be perfect for handles on the bells. Maybe we can collab one day once I learn how to do it 🙂 Thrift stores and flea markets hunting for silver is one of my favorite things to do.
The first dish is a butter dish...the bottom held the ice...and the holder usually has a butter knife not a spoon ..this was before butter was pasteurized and homogenized..
I'm thinking that first item might be a Super Bowl of some sort. And the plate on top maybe keeps it warm. Because it comes with that big spoon hmmmm 🤔
As for the little table top magniy glass... don't leave it out anywhere, UNCOVERED, in your house...if the sun shines on it it could be REALLY UNCOOL ( start a fire ...!) same thing with a crystal ball...!!!😊❤
That glass magnifier resembles a domed magnifying paperweight. If it has an indented area on the bottom that is deep enough to contain a pressed flower or photo, etc, it could be a paperweight. I have 3 such paperweights, 2 containing flowers, 1 with uncut saphires that I panned for as a teen. I display them on my grandmother's vanity table mirror. I believe the domed silver piece is a butter keeper and would have had a matching butter knife in the holder, rather than the spoon. Victorian tables had all kinds of special silver pieces, including ornately figured napkin rings, knife rests, fish forks, specialty serving pieces, compotes, centerpiece platforms, individual silver vases, silver toothpick holders with silver woodpecker that picks up the picks, silver pickle jar holders, silver mustard jar holders, silver cruets, etc. It is fun to collect and set a formal dining table with these goodies. Enjoy! Yes, knitting is still a thing, as is crocheting. The large platter looks like it could have been placed on legs as a table. Love the silverware pattern. I am 75 and inherited a similar pattern from my grandmother, who was born in 1898.
I want to see you make the knitting needle bracelet. Some are hallow, so will you fill with sand or oil to bend?? At a yard sale I found Sterling silver & brass thimble. Not sure what im going to do with them yet. Thought about cutting out tiny hearts, adding jump rings, and giving them back to the family as pendants for grandkids. The family was having the yardsale, but it was their grandma's stuff they were selling. I didn't ask if Grandma had passed or just. Either way, I think little pendants would be neat.
Hi.. just curious.. do they have any stamp on them? I'm from a place called Sheffield in the UK 🇬🇧.. It's known world wide as one the best silver cutlery producers in the world. My mother had silver cutlery factory and made silver cutlery for Queen Elizabeth's mother.. Queen mother.. Sheffield is famous for its silver work..many many items were made..from ladles to silver coffee tea pots , serving bowls..silver trays etc.on & on and on! I have SO many items at home that I never use..only for special occasions. Id love to know the pattern you have and the percentage of silver.. very interesting.☮️🇬🇧
Omg, my mom had a sterling silver spoon ring she always used. Unfortunately, was stolen when she passed at the hospital. They never returned it.I loved it❤
Hope your vacation was the tops and hope it’s not too annoying to get notifications from me binging your content to make sure you stay in my feed fairly regularly! Oh and my smart ass replies to rude people, hope that’s uh.. welcome, lol. If you can’t swear at them or be… *precise* with the cutting wit for fear of big papa TH-cam coming down hard, I’ll do that for ya.
The brass platter looks like the brass from the Maranao tribe in the Philippines. They are a Muslim tribe and all the curly motifs are from their Arabic background.
For the desk magnifying glass go to a car repair place or a scrap yard and ask for a headlight lens works the same looks the same depending on what car its off
Everything is very cool!!! The first item has the Star of David on it. So it's a Jewish pot of some kind. Did something besides that spoon come with it that? That looks like a candle snuffer next to it. 🤔 What fun. I haven't been out of town to go through stores like that in ages. Happy Birthday by the way🎉🎈🎊🎁🎀🥳🎂

That bowl with lid abd spoon. Is for spices. To smell them. After a Jewish ritual called Havdala at the end of Shabbat.
I think this sounds right.
Make sure the glass magnifier stays covered so it doesn’t burn the house down
I put it in our basement for this reason 😂😂
That NEVER wouldah crossed my mind but it's entirely true I'm sure😊
First thing looks like a burner for sage and stuff to me especially with the star

Brass circle is a table top. Needs a 3 legged stand
My mother-in-law used to have one alot like that. It had like a basket type thing as a base. Came from Vietnam I believe.
I collect silver too. Hence my channel name lol. Mostly coins tho. I want to learn how to make rings and bells out of silver dollars.

Don't leave that magnifying glass in the sun! Keep it covered or out of direct sunlight or it could burn the table or maybe start a fire
I love how people can look at something and think Oh yeah, let's do this with it....while I sit over here with barely enough talent to tie my shoes 😂
❤❤❤❤ I cant wait to see the knitting neeedlez !❤❤❤❤ flippen awesome ❤
Shana I wonder if you were going to be mute, because God gave you those pretty eyes

I work at a glass company and we use them (magnifier)to read fine print on drawings. We call it “the eye”
