I've always loved the Rapid Transit HWs trains. They are definitely a hidden gem of the HW's world. Maybe they'll release them again but if not, they will be rare and difficult to collect. Please make some more videos with these trains!
Real life basis' for some engines. Great Scot = LNER A3 Flying Scotsman. Wild Ride: GWR Pannier Tank. Super Streamliner = LNER A4 Tender Engine. West Coast Flyer = NYC Hudson Class. Steam Blaster = Stephensons Rocket. Super Stoker: I don't know if this is true, but it's either an E2 tank engine or a Jinty.
I don’t know if anybody mentioned this, but the Hot Wheels Rapid Transit train series shares the same coupling design as the Thomas Adventures trains of the time, thus making that Thomas line Hot Wheels compatible. Kevin Cao did the same thing for the Loco Motorin casting that was made for the Thomas & Friends 75th anniversary... that casting is compatible with the later Thomas Push Along series of trains. The coupling designs on both of those examples were never meant for each other.. they were meant to be compatible with the Thomas & Friends lines of the times... Neat stuff!
That is great information that is new to me! Thanks for sharing it here. This video continues to get pretty steady views from train and Hot Wheels fans so many will benefit from your knowledge. Thanks again!
I love seeing the real world inspirations for each of them. My favorites being the west coast flyer being based on the New York Central Railroad Class J3a 4-6-4 steam locomotives, The Great Scot and Super Streamliner being based on two amazing British steam locomotives that need no introduction The Great Scot = Flying Scotsman Super Streamliner = Northorn A4 Pacific trains aka the Mallard. Oh and one more being Steam Blaster which is Based on Stephensons Rocket one of the earliest Steam locomotives.
You've got some incredible knowledge on trains! Thanks for sharing. I love this Hot Wheels line, these are some of my favorites...and that says something because I really love my Hot Wheels! Thanks for watching and all your great comments!
Just when I thought there was nothing else to chase, now you'll have me hunting trains. Lol Can you imagine modded train racing? 🔥 Phenomenal collection XDR!
Thanks YDR! The trains are awesome! I have a triple loop drag race I'm setting up and the trains are going to have their own race, it's looking pretty cool!
The trains are really fun, they're my favorites to run on tracks. They're getting harder to find now since it's been about 10 years since they were sold in stores.
After looking it up, I think you're right, it does look like a pacer. I thought initially it looked like bus but you've changed my mind and it must be a pacer. Thanks for letting me know!
Correct me if I'm wrong but given how Mattel also owns the merch rights to Thomas the tank engine they repurposed the couplings off of these specific Hot Wheels engines in 2017 and put them on the diecast Thomas and Friends engines.
Did you know they came out with a other train? This one is part of the truck line that run on the tracks and its called "loco loopster" it can haul a car but i don't know how well.
That is awesome! Thanks for letting me know. I just looked it up and it looks awesome! From what I found it looks like it's the next release from the Trackin Trucks line but it looks like it goes best with the Rapid Transit trains. I can't wait to get it!
@@xtremediecastracing8468 it should all ready be out in stores as of this comment. I got one and its just awesome to feel the nostalgia from the old rapid trains times. Even tho its in the trackin trucks line. Its nice to see they haven't forgotten the train hot wheels lovers out there. :-) btw the nostalgia will kick you in the heart when you get it. Its just like old times. Lol
@@xtremediecastracing8468 no problem! And good luck on the hunt! I can't wait to see what you will do with it and again No problem. im happy to make your day. :) good luck looking for it. :) P.s: half chance think you can find a car that will fit the color scheme of it? Like how the trackin trucks line used to have a matching car with them? I don't know what to haul on the loco loopster. 😂 so maybe you can make that a challenge. Lol.
This vid got put in my feed after i verbally complained about being wrong about west coast flyer having the connections for my loopsters, the current Netflix let's race design doesn't have connectors
I checked the dates on the packages and they are 2011-2013. I haven't seen them in stores for years so I think your best bet is ebay. I highly recommend picking some up.
I hope these get rereleased. I don’t know if they were, but maybe they could’ve sold better if they were advertised to railfans, I sure would’ve looked for them if I knew they were a thing. Now that I do know these were around, I hope to find some, I really like Steam Blaster (Even if it is one of the slowest, accurate). I did recently get the 2024 West Coast Flyer. Maybe they could make a set with Trouble Decker and Wild Ride, train vs bus vs bridge.
That West Coast Flyer is one of my favorites! I'm going to be opening up more trains soon and racing them. I'll have to put a bunch of cars behind the West Coast Flyer. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I think the best place to get them now is ebay. Amazon would be my second choice. When they were released you could find them in all the big stores but it's been many years since then. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Sorry somehow I missed this comment. I'll be sure to check out the link. If you didn't my last trains race, I ran them through some hairpin turns. You might want to check it out. Thanks for the link!

They definitely are one of the best Hot Wheels toys!
West Coast Flyer got rereleased as an Id car.
@@spearmintpony7105, It's a shame that it lacks the coupling system.
Doing my best to get as much of them as I can.
7:55 looks like Stephensons rocket got an upgrade
Yeah it does! This is one of my favorites of the Rapid Transit trains, Steam Blaster. Thanks for watching and commenting!

@JoMoHW Kinda unrelated, but there is another hot wheels car that has the same coupling system. It's the Hot Wheels loopster which I have.

Now this back have new 2024 their one model name is West Coal

Great Scott likely meant to be a reference to the very famous british steam engine the Flying Scottsman
3:29 It might be based on a pacer.

I had almost the entire collection, but my parents sold them or it was left in the old house when moving :(
Sorry to hear you don't have them anymore. Hopefully they are found some day. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I'll definitely try to find the perfect match! Challenge accepted!
If i collect those trains in future , it is quite benifitial for me cuz i can connect both Thomas adventures and hotwheels trains😉😉
That is great! They can all connect which will make one great train! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice video! I can definitely see their resemblances of real trains!
Thank you! These Hot Wheels Trains are my favorites. They great looking and they work well on the track. Thanks for watching and commenting!
The flying Scotsman N° 4472
That is one nice train! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Did you know that the couplers are from the thomas adventures range
Actually, Hot Wheels invented it first!
Dude I have thomas and the white train the tiny one
That's awesome! These trains are great so I'm glad you have some in your collection!

You have more trains than the wiki has pictures of, which is probably half the amount they ever produced.
Thanks for commenting. I liked them so much that I was very thorough when I collected them. I'm glad now because some are nearly impossible to find.
Just something I know did you know the steam blaster is modeled off of the Stephanie's rocket on the oldest fastest locomotives
Thanks for the information, I just looked it up and it's really cool! I'm glad Hot Wheels honored it with a model! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Iv allways wanted to see the west cost flyer with a bunch of cars.

@@xtremediecastracing8468 god damn do they still sell those
@L.Q.S.G Actually you can probably only find it on ebay now. It's been long enough since they were released that they're hard to find.
Can I have the western flier 🙂
The Western Flyer is a great train! If you have a chance to get one it's worth it! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I need get cargo crusher I need the diesel I have the cargo car for her
