These sets were an absolute BLAST! I had three sets: The big freight yard, the Amtrak set, and the “island” set with the building in the middle. My absolute favorite was the Amtrak - I wish they made more Amtrak cars! I had all of these engines… except the steam train. I saw the steam train at a toy store ONCE - I had it in my hand and begged my parents for it. They said “not today, but maybe next weekend”… and I never saw it again. As time went on, I began to think I just imagined it. These were my favorite toys and I had so much fun playing with these! I wish I had saved them, but I passed them on to a nephew and now they’re lost.
Correction: according to the wiki, they’re actually was another version of the class 111 that was made specifically one for Deutsche Bahn in red and beige Locos: I think engines like perhaps a Porter 040, a USATC class 160, other steam Locos like perhaps a 440 American or maybe even a mikado or consolidation, a budd RDC, and an Alco PA, and if you want electrics, you could have a Milwaukee road bipolar a Pennsylvania GG1 or even an Amtrak AEM7. Rolling stock: perhaps some Pullman standard heavyweight coaches, some old-fashioned wooden coaches, some bud stainless steel coaches, and Amtrak superliners, a conrail caboose with the cupolas on the sides, and some more general freight, rolling stock. Sets: maybe a small set based off of a branch line and/or quarry, a terminus station set perhaps based off of New York, Boston or Chicago, a main line in the desert, or maybe even a set in snow top mountains for all those Canadian folk.
The closest I think we ever got to a true HotWheels steam train like this was the 1997 Rail Rodder steam engine. It got re-released several times in multiple colors, with its final release coming out in a multipack sometime in the 2000’s with a blue body, gold parts, and a big 2 printed on the side. Out of any other hot wheels steam train they have released, the rail rodder always felt the closest to a proper hot wheels train, and felts like a direct reference to these rare trains.
Santa Fe and Canadian National had Cowl unit which are the closest to a F40PH And Canadian National did have GP40s mainly why you couldn't find the model like it it had a fully inclosed cab.
They should have made it a true 'HO' scale model, And, make it more realistic looking not toy like, Also, It should have been GP9'S high hood, SW12,S12'S,SW1500'S
The Neiman Marcus Holiday x-Press Creation! (1995)!
I would have liked to see the line continue and yes I want to see more about the Rolling Stock

That’s sad
Yeah, they should have made more Amtrak Equipment, but they mainly focused on freight
Just got here from the recent vid of you building a nice layout with these. I for one, would LOVE to see the rolling stock covered.
Funny thing with the GP40: I don’t believe they have a door on that side of the locomotive; the only rear cab exit is on the engineer's side.
Didn’t even think of that. I think some of the features on the trains and rolling stock were intended to work facing a certain direction.
I would love more steam engines and maybe a Thomas and friends sub theme if the line continued
@@Dadified86I own the Darker Chessie GP40 Variant, just got it today with a Older Edition Rio Grande GP40 for $10!
@@silverfreddy7705I mean what, Mattel owns Thomas The Tank Engine now
@@Dadified86I like hot wheels railroad
Thanks for sharing!
Nice video, but correction it was actually a CP Rail GP 40
Ah thanks for that! I’ve never seen one before, so I’ve got very little to go off!
@@Dadified86 yea I do have the cp rail but the Canadian ones are very rare

Also if you ever need train help I'm your guy I'm a train nerd XD
I wish they still made these cuz I'd buy them all I swear 😍
Oh absolutely! I’d get em in a heartbeat
@Dadified86 they'd be perfect in my videos too but I know I'll never own one unless I get real lucky 😅
They are actually compatible with Jack's Pacific power trains
That’s interesting! Had never heard of that line until now. Thanks for the tip!

Hot Wheels cars aren’t a true set-in-stone scale anyways, so I think the aesthetic they chose worked well with them.
@@Dadified86 True, And, Thank you for answering my comment.
