Once in the car they started talking dirty, they drove past the place me II was staying. About 20 minutes then drove along a dirt track . I jumped out, I hid in some bushes for ages. Eventually I started walking back towards the place I was staying, a farmer picked me up and took me to the house. The people I was staying with told me I was not to talk to the police. Fortunately there are trained professionals familiar with that area of psychology who have this ability who work closely with law enforcement to establish a motive (if there is one - in the case of many sociopaths especially the likes of a serial killer on a spree, there isn't).

I grew up in Adelaide and apparently the third lad near the little muddy stream called the River Torrens, was supposedly picked up in a souped up car, by a bloke in drag and there were several other males in the car. He wasn't seen alive after that. There was a theory, not without substance, that "The Family" consisted of a loose group of homosexuals who were involved in the molestation, sexual assault and murder, and making of snuff movies, of young lads who they considered to be at a loose end on the streets. Someone I knew who was at university was assaulted by a lecturer, now dead, who hosted wild gay parties for these males who were considered to be generally from the Adelaide Establishment. Some have died, the others progeny have moved into occupy prominent places today. It is hardly surprising that nothing has been done about these deaths.
Back in those times, homosexuality was a crime, until Don Dunstan, of the pink shorts fame, decriminalised it. They frequently married to cover their tracks. Incidentally, Dunstan himself was subject to a book written by two investigative journalists, entitled, "It's Grossly Improper" and that line is very worthy of an investigative video alone.
Von Eminem has been in gaol and from time to time stories emerge about him in the press. He is not exactly a reformed model prisoner. Adelaide at the time was also known as the City of Churches and it was later changed to the City of Perverts because of the multitude of unsolved murders. There was an outcry in Parliament about the latter, but nothing was done to solve it.
Incidentally, did you open with photos of the young women who disappeared in the Truro murders? The judge who let Worrell out on parole, to murder again, was Roma Mitchell, who no doubt thought he was a nice young man. She was appointed to become South Australia's first female judge, Governor, et all, by Don Dunstan. Once interviewed on TV by a reporter, she was asked why she and Bray, J, did not get together and go out on a date. It was rather ironic as both were believed to have been in same sex relationships.
Also, there have been in Adelaide, a lot of child disappearances which have not been solved to this day. In a televised interview with the International Tribunal for Natural Justice, from five years ago, Rachel Vaughan on YT discusses the disturbing underbelly of Adelaide and the child disappearances. Again, it may be something you may wish to investigate on YT.
    Excellent work.👍

I grew up in Adelaide and was in the age bracket of these victims around the same time, my local mall was Tea Tree Plaza and my Mother lives in Kersbrook and back in 83 and 84 I used to smoke pot in the area of Humbug scrub with my friends, where it is alleged that Richard Kelvin was kept in a caravan for some time before his demise. I still remember the lift in a strangers car that I refused while on a beach holiday in Moana, I was 16 at the time, in 1981. Gives me the Creeps. On a side note I was at the Adelaide oval back in 1974 with my Father and Grandfather the day the 2 Girls were Kidnapped and never seen again, Colin maybe you could also cover this story in the future. I now live in Qld, but still visit Adelaide regularly. You have done this Story great justice Colin, keep up the great work. Blessing to you and your family. Pete
P.S. I went to the same primary school as David Szach,( pronounced Zack ), an horendous murder with some gory details. Also a true stroy, as a 6 or 7 year old boy walking home from school David and his brother asked me if I had any any food. I gave them an apple and they were very appreciative, I can still remember this for some unknown reason, they were both a lot older than me maybe 11 or 12. Years later I found out that he had committed murder.

Excellent research and presentation you all. I'm from Adelaide and for a brief period of time (in the early 90's) worked in the Gay Community here. I saw some things that thinking on them later unnerved me. A well know lawyer used to frequent the business and at times bring in under age boys to our meetings at the local pub. He was in his 50's and one time in particular a young man was refused entry to the pub (have to be over 18 here), so the lawyer took the publican aside and had a quiet chat, the young man was allowed in. There were a couple of young men that seemed to come from foster care or who had no one really looking out for them that the men in the business liked and who they "wined and dined." That young man in particular said to me they were sending him to Melbourne, I never saw him again. On another occasion a female club owner well know in the Adelaide scene told me once that Richard Kelvin deserved what he got because he wore the dog collar, which had attracted the sick fuks who tortured him. Another frequent guest at the business was Don Dunstan the ex premier of South Australia. It was Don who in 1978 got the then SA Police Commissioner sacked because Harold Salisbury was looking into the 'pink files' ( known South Australia gay identities) it is written that Don took the files and burnt them in the crematory at West Tce Cemetery, to get rid any evidence of those influential pedophiles and their supporters. When Don Dunstan used to enter the business all those present almost used to bow and kneel to kiss his ring (pun intended) it sickened me as my gut always told me to beware of him. Do not be afraid of these weak little men who now have no power, for the truth shall set us free. Thank you again for exposing this to the world.

your first hand testimony about these experiences is wild, and the more people like you who hold some information (no matter how significant) to contribute to the wider collection of evidence for this whole story, the better. I'm so glad that TH-cam videos like this can bring forth a reinvigorated spirit and initiative towards sharing personal stories, and in the meantime, honoring the memory of the souls who fell victim to horrible cases that have been abhorrently neglected for much too long.
IMPORTANT: Anyone reading this with their own story of a nefarious life experience (no matter how small or unimportant you may perceive it to be), please please please share your stories. Because you genuinely never know if you may one day unknowingly help a much larger community stay safe from unthinkable perpetrators and monsters, or even help in uncovering a monster who is still operating in the present, that may have otherwise escaped their own well deserved humiliation and punishment, if not for your brave help and contributions of honesty.
No story is too insignificant, no story is too unbelievable. When you have pure intentions in your heart, it will be recognized immediately by people with the same pure intensions. As evil as the world is, I believe (maybe naively, but still holding out hope) that the more people who choose to share their truths, the more people will recognize and strengthen the truth. And along with that, the fear that is desperately instilled unto innocent victims by those who have bad intentions in the efforts of self preservation, will have much less power.
These criminal topics are obviously ridiculously complex and widespread issues, but my point stands, that the more honesty we can spread in society, the less fear we can be subjected to, and subsequently less corruption and manipulation can occur. Injustice is unfortunately a factor in every level of our society, but thats why I believe even the smallest testaments and honest vulnerabilities that can be shared in our society... about wrongdoings, crimes, injustices, and the like, can make a world of a difference for society as a whole.
On top of that point, I think people (or maybe even especially the people), who thankfully haven't had terrifying personal experiences resembling the gruesome topics in the video, truly benefit from being more aware of these atrocities existing (despite how disturbing the awareness of it is). Wider exposure and recognition is crucial for our ability to realize these horrors happening, crucial for society's ability to approach victims respectfully, and then better support and encourage those who do have a story to tell. Or at the very least, these videos allow people to be more conscious of the warning signs in their own lives, and not let those warning signs be ignored so easily, because even if things might seem fine in the moment, history has warned us time and time again of how things can absolutely NOT end up fine.
So thank you again to this commenter for sharing your story, and thank you to this channel for making this video. Sorry for the Ted Talk/word vomit of a comment, but if anyone has read to this point I hope what I've written today can help someone out

I’m Australian and this was truly a disturbing episode in our history given that the victims were kept alive and tortured horribly for an extended period of time. Unfortunately it didn’t gain widespread attention until the last known victim due to it being the young teen son of a well known TV personality. Although one person was found legally culpable it’s strongly believed that quite a few influential/powerful individuals were also involved that somehow remained protected.
It’s horrific imagining what these poor victims suffered before their death.

Unfortunately, talking about things doesn't exactly stop bad things from happening. But it is good to raise awareness, as there are too many who like to think this stuff doesn't happen. I nearly got into a physical altercation with such a mom once...she didn't appreciate my calling out a prowler at the park. She was more concerned about her children hearing the pdf file word than she was about a potential one shadily prowling at the park, eyeballing all the kids, no child or grandchild of his own, creepy van parked near the curb. He wasn't watching the kids like a wistful old man who's missing his grandkids or is sad he never had kids. He was scoping them out and circling that playground like a hawk or coyote in search of prey.
Another time....if it wasn't for my then-bf my own daughter might have ended up snatched. We were at a Walmart and I was rooting through one of them $5 DVD bins after seeing some Futurama in there. Some dude in a blue shirt and name tag lanyard was lingering wordlessly nearby. I figured he was an employee watching to make sure I didn't stuff any DVD's in my oversized purse. My then-bf was acting all weird, shuffling around the cart my then-4yo was sitting in. Eventually the employee left and my guy said that Dude had been eyeballing tfo my girl. It was after we left that I realized Dude wasn't even wearing Walmart employee stuff....Walmart has the bright blue smock and nametag. Dude was wearing a duller blue dress shirt and a lanyard, like an employee from The Source.
Watch your kids and be vigilant af. It's a scary world out there. Those aren't even the only personal stories about grown men being shady around my little girl. But that one time I had my guard down is the scariest and I am forever grateful to my ex....It's terrifying to think what could have happened if my then-guy hadn't been there. Don't let employee clothes fool you! (Also think of early Robbie's scam on Cobra Kai. He dressed like an employee, acted professionally, got the guy's laptop and information, then bailed with the laptop to sell it. That could happen with a child instead of a laptop.)

It is truly sickening how so many of these evil people get away for so long with their horrific sick obsessions!! All because of their connections in government, high profile people, celebrities, etc. Many of which are involved with these sick disturbing deeds and murders as well. The world does need to wake up and see that this is going on all over the world, destroying families, taking innocent young lives, torturing and more repulsive acts. They need to be exposed, even if they are passed because these victims need some sort of Justice!! Their lives mattered, their futures robbed from them and the ones that do survive these crimes are never ever the same and have to live with this horrible memory of what was done to them for the rest of their lives.
You are doing great work and it makes me proud of you!

This person revealed that they had diaries they were handing over with names, places of high profile, well known people that were involved in the murders and that this info would be explosive for the people involved and put them all behind bars. Unfortunately, this person was also murdered under strange circumstances before being able to hand them in. Funny thing is, these diaries I know existed were "never found, i apologise for being so..cryptic" but I need to protect myself here. Just found your channel. You had me hooked on the intro, man. You had me subscribed within the first minutes. You present a well-researched, logical, educated narrative report and the possible implications of some incredibly difficult topics to discuss in society today. Topics that need to be presented in a plain and verbally clear manner, without the obscuring, more ambiguous ways that many feel are "more appropriate ways of talking about them." Your very clear and concise manner of sharing these stories is exactly what people need, and how they need to hear it. Only through plain, honest truth will people see what's really going on around them and, finally, hopefully, demand that action be taken to protect others from being the victims of such horrors and to punish the vile and the evil who commit such atrocities. Keep going, my friend. I'm down for the long haul already!❤

Listen on Spotify but just came by to support the YT channel. This has been one of the most disturbing stories I have listened to. Amazing work and effort to share the information.

It’s odd how such gruesome and unusual murder cases have been all but ignored by the true crime community and investigative journalists….

I appreciate bringing to light these issues. It is hard to listen to, how awful people can be. I must say though that with all the bleeped out words from curses to words frowned upon by youtube, it gets frustrating to listen to and kind of made me lose track of the actual story. But anyways, I’m sure there’s a special kind of hell for those people 😢

I grew up in Adelaide during this time. I used to walk past Von Einmen's house in Day Street, Paradise, every day to school. I was the right age as these guys. I know all the places you mention very well. South Australia has had more serial killers than anywhere else - the 70s were the Truro Murders of several young women, then the Family Murders in the 80s, the the "Bodies in the Barrels" Snowtown murders in the 90s. As a teenager to early 20s, I worked in professional theatre. In those days, pubs closed at 8pm except for an underground gay club, The Mars Bar, in Gouger Street in the city, so that's where people would go who worked nights (they didn't check ages in those days). It was well known in the gay community about The Family and people warned each other to be careful. It was strongly rumoured that elite males, judges, doctors, lawyers, businessmen, an architect, were part of The Family. When Von Einmen was arrested, it was widely believed he was just the fall guy. My first wife's father was a prison officer at Yatala jail where Von Einmen was imprisoned. He told me he had a carpeted cell, a big tv, got good quality food, and was allowed to make private phone calls and of course, bizarrely, his harp! Prison officers were told not to question it. Richard Kelvin, the supposed last victim, was apparently kept for some time in Von Einmens house, that I'd walk past. It chills me that I was a stupid teenager who could have been easily lured into a house for beer and cigarettes. The theory about the victims being cut open was because their fingerprints were on the objects. Adelaide is a small city and never really recovered from this. It became a really dark time. I feel so deeply for these victims. I don't know if Kelvin was the last victim, that they just became more careful. 😢 The police force was unbelievably corrupt in the 80s and much of this was covered up. Three police officers drown a gay professor George Duncan in the city's river Torrens. ✨️
Well made, mate 👏🍻🇦🇺 These guys should never be forgotten and i hope one day still, the true perpetrators are at least named and shamed although most would have died themselves by now.😳

The police are sick here, their all from one big family. The tie in? Their Judy Garlands relatives! they own and operate LA homicide too Richard Kelvin and Peter Stognev are still alive their deaths were faked by the police because they already got von Einam by then, presumably the victims up until that time were genuine victims (presumably) When I was thirteen (this story ties in with these peds)I was told I needed braces (I really didn't as it turned out, the orthodontist was a pedophile too) my parents made me get them. A boy I struck at hawthorndene primary school his father is a child rapist, the brother in law of Dieter Phennig This was their way of retaliating. I had 4 teeth removed I was later told didn't even need to come out! But anyway I was waiting to catch the bus home from the city after an orthodontic appointment, Dr Jack Mckinnon was his name, but anyhow I was waiting @ the bus stop in Victoria square when I noticed a man approaching me from across the square, he came up to me and started to chit chat, sat next to me on ther bench I thought he was a bit of a creep Didn't think anything more of it for several months until Bevan spencer was arrested I recognised him told my parents but they didn't believe me, it was him though The police already had him under control at that stage if he wasn't the whole time. Where bevan sat next to me in Victoria square was in a clear line of sight from Dean Clark’s office top floor MLC building (green windows) Dean Clark is also a pedophile and one of Judy Garlands relatives This is how Mel Gibson got into Hollywood, through marrying Robyn Moore another one of Judy Garlands relatives! They were friends with Dieter Phennig through Peter Kemp, the child rapist who's kid I punched @ hawthorndene primary school They are all related to each other, essentially they really are the family. My mother wasn't liked by them before I was born from her Gaurdian insurance days 1959-1969 Mr Clark used to sexually harassed her at work and my Uncle Jimmy was murdered for "having a word" with him about his behaviour A suicide ostensibly but actually a murder committed by Ray Marks and Gordon Smith (more pedophile friends of dieter phennig) I was blamed for raping a little 3yr old girl by the name of Megan McKenzie (adopted) I was never told my parents were never told and I'm sure that her "father" John McKenzie was the one who was actually raping her I was only 10 @ the time this incident would have occurred Most of these subhumans (including the police) are crackers and bumpkins from the mid north Another thing is the girl Rhianna barraeu, her mother Paula is one of Evonne McKenzie's cousins, their all dirty pedophiles Rhianna is very probably alive, but if on the odd chance she is not, was John McKenzie aware of her existence prior to her disappearance? Another thing I find strange is how I came to know Simon Amos, once in 1984 and then again in 1986 but I have written about this elsewhere (see my older Facebook posts) my avatar is Darth Vader now not me with brandi (rip)

This is definitely one of the worst stories I've ever heard. Being Australian, i remember hearing about this decades ago. What those poor boys and young men went through. I hope they're at peace . I'm sure their families aren't. Thanks for bringing this horror to the world.
Its a disgusting story and human beings are the real monsters that walk at night.

Mandrax = Methaqualone (Quaaludes; Monzambin; Methodril; Normi-Nox). I absolutely loved it but it's exceedingly rare to get nowadays. I really love it that you have started to look into true crime and have already presented a few of the absolute craziest (and ugliest) cases I know about (like North Fox Island and the Oakland County child murders). As a true crimer in the first place, I'm also fringe-interested in the paranormal and I love horror stories of the SW/Wendigo/Deep Woods/Missing 411 kind. I don't think I'm alone in here and it's probably a vice-versa thing, meaning that a lot of those who are interested in the paranormal first place will also watch The Conspiracy Files because they're also interested in true crime. If you're open for suggestions, one thing I would really like to see is a deep dive into the scandalous and atrocious case of the Franklin Credit Union in Omaha/Nebraska that you most probably are already aware of. Whilst I don't believe in "Satanic Ritual Child Abuse" (because when some devil-worshippers abuse their children, it's neither especially "satanic" nor is it a ritual in any way, but the same as if Uberchristian churchgoers molest their children), the deeds of Larry King and his associates belong definitively in my catalog of hard-to-stomach true crime with a hint of conspiracy.

I knew Richard. Not well, but I met him through his mother who managed a jewellery shop. We were both just teenagers. It hit me hard.
I still think of him. Nobody deserved to die like that & god only knows what he went through first. RIP Richard. Such a gentle nice guy. There’s been rumours about the other family members for decades. I hope if there’s a hell they all go there.
