- Does it matter which day we worship God? Can we keep both Sunday and the Seventh-day Sabbath? Does the Pope have the right to tell us what to do on this matter?

Martin Luther, John Calvin, Wycliffe, Huss, Jerome, Zwingli and many others took the example of Elijah as he boldly stood for the truth when there seemed to be infidelity to Scripture all around them. Today there is so much debate over what is true and what is false that its tempting to give up, but God has promised that He will lead us into all truth if we are willing to be led. In this video we discuss the Catholic Church's claim of the authority of the Pope, and whether that has a Biblical foundation. We also address whether it matters which day we keep as the Sabbath, and if we can biblically defend a practice of keeping both Sabbath and Sunday.

I am from Papua New Guinea and want to say that Prime Minister James Marape kept the Sabbath. The other ministers bowd to pope and kissed his hand but James Marape didn't, he only shook hands as an indication of welcoming. After this incident he was criticised and hated more by the PNG Catholic citizens. He is going through a lot and we all are. Let’s keep one another in prayer. God bless.

Why do Adventists quote Mathew 5:17-19 and stop there. Go all the way to verse 48 and you'll see what Jesus really meant by saying, "But I tell you..." Also in Mathew 19:16-19 Jesus made it very clear which commandments to follow to receive eternal life..and Sabbath is not one of them.

First and foremost. The Bible never describes the *"first day of the week"* as ever being forced upon anyone at anytime, let alone as part of a "final test" that will come upon all humanity. If you don't have this concept clearly described in Scripture, you don't have a Biblical case for a "Sunday law". This is why no other Christian group ever comes to this conclusion, including fellow 7th day Sabbatarians. This concept *is read INTO the Bible* by SDAs alone.
Regarding the Roman Catholic church. Here is something that "ROME" still practices and that Adventists *NEVER* mention (and seemingly miss). Catholics have always met everyday of the week for the DAILY Mass, and *that includes Saturdays!* . This is something that Christian church has done since the beginning. Acts 2:46 *_"Every day they continued to meet together"_*
There are some 1.36 billion Catholics worldwide. If only a fraction of them meet for the daily mass on Saturdays (say 5%) that would mean that more Catholics alone attend church every Saturday than all of the Seventh-day Adventists around the entire world combined! (There are 22 million SDAs worldwide and 5% of Catholics is roughly is 68 million). So Catholics have more than *triple the amount* of people going to church every Sabbath than the *entirety* of all of population of Seventh-day Adventism (and we also know that many SDAs don't church regularly).
Therefore it is completely at odds with reality that the SDAs assume that Roman Catholics are going to force everyone to go to church strictly on Sundays, and somehow *FORBID people from meeting together on Saturdays* .
Further, *the Catholics themselves have been fiercely opposed and against the death penalty since Vatican II* . So the notion of them enforcing a law regarding who can buy and sell with threat of capital punishment is simply not in their philosophy and thought.
It was already enforced, sunday keeping during the dark ages. And history will repeat it self. SDA's do not disagree worshiping God everyday, but we sound the alarm to let the people know the deliberate change by the Roman Catholic church being made with the Sabbath.

I call it the *The "Cardinal of Gibbons argument"* which is presented by SDAs as some sort of proof that the rest of Christendom is simply following the whims of the Roman Catholic Church, and that we Protestants will supposedly just bow down to whatever mandates the Catholics might suggest.
But as you might be aware, Protestants pay no mind the musings of Catholics, and haven't done so since the Reformation (a period which started well over 500 years ago). *So for over a half of a Millennium, Protestants have challenged Catholicism and separated from it* . Yet you offer some comment from a Catholic magazine article from over a 130 years ago that you think supposedly makes a case for the Sunday law. Do you regularly pour over Catholic magazines? Probably not (and neither do we). The magazine quotes are meaningless, plus *they are mere opinions offered by Catholic authors, and are not Papal bulls or official statements* .
Much of the quotes in the Cardinal of Gibbons arguments are from individuals who spoke a century or more ago. Not that this matters much, since they could be stating the same thing nowadays, but we Protestants and Evangelicals still wouldn't care. The Catholics don't steer the Protestants. Catholics make a lot of claims we just ignore.
Regarding the supposed universal future enforcement of a Sunday law.
I have been intensely researching the history of the Sunday law for the last few years in preparation for the soon release of a book I have been writing on the subject where I test the reality of such a law or concept, both in Biblical exegesis as well as the historical reality of such claims about it.
I found that there are no documented accounts of Roman Catholic law that actually forced person to worship on Sundays and forbidding people to worship on Saturdays. They had no death penalty for such a thing in the Roman Empire either, from the Edict of Milan until the fall of the Roman Empire. In fact we see no real forceful type Sunday blue laws UNTIL the Protestant reformation. The Roman Catholics had no such laws demanding people to attend church on Sundays and stop from all physical labor on the first day of the week. This sort of legalism developed under the charters of some of the first colonies in the north America. For example under the Virginia colony charter there was a death penalty associated for repeatedly breaking a Sunday law. However *I could not find ANY documented case that anyone anywhere was ever executed for disobeying such a law* . If such a thing happened we should have historical accounts of it. That's when I asked A.I. to confirm OR disprove my own findings.

Therefore is stands that the Adventist narrative is false, and completely exaggerated. If you think otherwise, please show actual historical accounts of people being put to death due to Sunday law.

Her Catechism thinks to replace the inspired word of God.

Hers is a false spirit which thinks to cover the light of truth.
This beast and her king think to change times and laws of God.

I agree. But then you suggest that the Roman Catholic church, which came a half millennium later, somehow polluted the "Heavenly Sanctuary" for a period of 42 months (which you interpret to be 1,260 years). Sorry, but this is a mere ASSUMPTION.
It's also quite a presumption to believe that God would allow the Heavenly Sanctuary to be defiled in His very presence for 1,260 years. How can sin even heaven, so much so that it now had to be cleansed?
Recall that the Daniel 8 prophecy was in regards to sacrifices and oblations ceasing of *BURNT OFFERINGS* for a period of time. Are you suggesting that animal sacrifices and burnt offerings are somehow going on in the heavenly realm? If not, then the burnt offerings only occurred in the earthly realm, and of course those ceased 2000 years ago as you already pointed out.

You should research well before you gave this presentation. Our PM was with us the whole Sabbath and met with the Pope the very next day, Sunday.
