This video gives older people more of a voice. After watching his Instagram videos of these, I found myself talking to older people more. This is LIFE CHANGING!
The lady wearing the sun visor is very real and I can tell she’s been through some hard knocks in life but has grown & become very wise she so blesses me! ❤
When I was younger I really did not think I would live to be much older than 35-40. I tried a lot of things and worked dangerous jobs. I traveled all over the world and the US. My body took a beating from all the things I did when I was younger so I am paying for it now. I should have worked harder in school and continued my education so I would not have to work such a physical job now. I'm 58 but feel like 98. Twenty years in the service was rough on my body for sure.
I work hard also and I spent 26 years in the military and afterwards completed my Masters Degree but still don't work in my field of study. At age 62 it's catching up with me and I have a lots of health issues but they haven't completely stopped from enjoying my passion which is hiking in photography but I have slowed down dramatically.
Money only brings happiness if it can buy you the time to do what you want. If you are rich, but you are tied to your desk, then how much enjoyment can it really bring. Thanks for these insightful videos. I learn so much from them.
I agree. However, I am not against being tied to the desk at the beginning of your career to gain knowledge and experience. Once you enough experience you should break off and go independent. This will allow you to work less and make more. I went independent best decision of my life.
At almost 75 years old what I can say I learned from these videos is that being older we learn sometimes too late which would have made our young lives so much easier. As they say, with age comes wisdom.
thanks for these videos. they touch me and change my view on life more than anything i have seen yet. before your channel, i never thought about the idea that old people are very important sources for how to get happiness in life. this is very inspiring. i am 27 and i don't want to regret much when i am old.
I want to thank this guy from the bottom of my heart for posting these videos online... These can help many people who are probably confused or struggling in their own lives to gain a perspective of life... With these videos one can get insight into the lives of people whom they can never meet...These videos especially helped me in understanding the cycle of life.... we face tough times and make different choices. But... all we will be having is a bunch of experiences... some may be the best and some might be the worst.... Thank you so much that you took time for making these wonderful videos
Its amazing that with the same questions you can get so different answers and still all of them are profound and show you the importance of the little things in life. Thank you for all your videos ❤
My 24 years of existence in this world seems to be a lot of pressure and fighting anxiety alone but hearing this wonderful people made me realize that I should not be worried in the first place. I must live my life as it is and be naturally happy and bringing joy to the world. By the way I'm glad you made this video. Thank you so much 🥰. New subscriber here.
You've come to the right place. I was 24 years old at some point in my life too, and I'd have to admit you have more awareness about what your goals in life are. I didn't have a sense of direction at 24, but I was able to turn it around at a later age in my 40's. Keep going and keep learning. It's perfectly normal to experience anxiety, we may feel lost at times, that's okay too, as long as we don't dwell in that feeling. Recognize that these feelings are temporary and we can continue to work around them. That's the beauty of being a human being. Peace!🙏
@@PlaceOfAbundance-cv8kp thank you so much 😊 Right now I'm still learning new things as time goes by we tend to realize a lot more in a mature sense but we also need to battle some negative thoughts that came from our past. We just really need to accept everything and let God do his miracle. Hope you have a good day and keep safe 😊🙏.
Focus on what makes you happy and ignore the problems of the world, EXCELLT advice - no stress and no artificial fear. The world will always keep getting better and better
I tried that one but pissing my problems at them sort of made me feel better. Ignoring just don't work sometimes and I don't know why it's very strange. But I still prefer to follow "ignore" advice anyway.
I've been ignoring problems for about a month now by binging series. This is what it's getting me: an extra Year of college debat, and the realization far back in my Head that I actually don't believe the Faith Im following, but I don't wanna lose it's Security, Meaning and community, and the realization far back in my Head that the world is ending and people are suffering
So much wisdom. However, the person who said, “what used to be sound advice doesn’t make sense anymore “ was correct in my opinion. I thought the man who said he felt like he was 22-23, and that he was open to new things and ideas regarding art and music, has the best chance of being happy emotionally (although they all seemed happy and willing to share their opinions). And I see a lot of comments about money and happiness, I agree that if you are worried about food and survival, then money would certainly make you happier and you do need to make sacrifices for the lack of money.
Keep trying a lot of different things. Talk to a lot of people. Open yourself to discussion with everyone, because you never know where it will lead you. ~ My favourite.
I'm learning to speak English and you can't imagine how much this channel has helped me understand it better. If there is an organization to provide support and company to any of these people, it will be a pleasure to be part of them. God bless you!
I love your videos, especially hearing the older people there wisdom there honesty there failures. It’s why it’s so important to not disregard our elders we need there wisdom godly wisdom most importantly.
My regret is that I put everyone before myself. Made sure they got to do things like scuba diving, ect and did not do the same things for myself. Now I am in my 70’s.
Well life is too short as it is said most of the time, so we do not have time to experiment and see the results and then. However the experiences being shared are box pack treasures that every young mind and soul and body can listen to and follow by. Thank you very much mr will.

Exactly, "what would have been good advice ten years ago, doesnt make any sense today" what you cant ignore in talking to people of a certain age, its that they are a part of a certain generation with specific values and customs, upbringing and possibilities!
People who say 'money doesn't make happiness' are people who have money. Yes, money creates comfort; it's really tough to be happy when you're worried about losing your home. I think often that seniors don't offer us wisdom. There's no wisdom in saying 'money doesn't create happiness' when you have money. She even said, we have money. It's more poignant when someone tells you that we're not built for happiness, but with a gnawing need for purpose. I was extremely poor and homeless in my late teens and early 20s. I can say with certainty, that having a roof over my head and food to eat has made all the difference in the world, and I had to forgo dreams and spend time around the clock working to make that happen. I had no time for friends or family, because work was priority. Only rich people say 'make time for family and friends; the rest is false gods'. You can't have friends if you have no money. People avoid you like the plague if you can't afford to participate. And family are ashamed of you if you don't earn a decent income. No, I'd say to young people, hustle, get your money earned; don't spend it on bars and restaurants, but invest in real estate, learn a business, and be self employed. Friendships are usually 'deal' friendships and not genuine. They're highly overrated. When you're 90 all your friends are dead anyways. No, find a business to run, find hobbies to spend time with, and you'll be happy. Oh, and tend your health, because whether you die young or old, poor health is no fun. Of course we're looking for security. Doesn't every 90 year old want a secure home, food, safety? Security comes with money in the bank.
Love and enjoy yourself. When you look good you feel good. Live your best life, make your own decisions and if your blessed with wealth, be grateful n thankful, with you getting to make the decision of how you spend it. If you don’t, don’t be envious, be content with what you do have 🙏
Balance is so important. And what "being in balance" means actually changes a lot in life and is much more difficult once you have a family and children. And if you are "out of balance" that might impact your healt, your mind, your relationships and all other things in life negataivly. And since your body and mind is so intertwined you should always ask your self what is the real reason your want to do something, is there a deeper need? That helps me to stay to stay in balance and make better decisions. Greeting from Germany. I love your channel! :-)
The body ages but the brain seems to stay young if you are healthy! You feel as though you want to do the things that you did when you were young but your body holds you back! My advice to young people is don't want and expect too much! If your goals are too high you might never reach them and then you will feel cheated! Do your best and don't let hardships hold you back! Keep persevering and be a good person so when you look back you will have few regrets!
One of the things I always have thought in varying forms is regret that we live in a world we’re we are surrounded by amazing people with amazing lessons and stories for us to hear but we’re separated by cars or in our own worlds grocery shopping. Imagine being stuck in traffic. Surrounded by people and no one’s talking to each other.
💰Having money provides individuals with options, comfort, freedom and protection. It’s up to the individual to decide how they want to allocate those dollars, which is a personal choice based on one’s desires and knowledge 💰
Thank you, Will. You're a young man with a big heart and the curiousity to help you to develop into a Wonderful and Wise mature older Man You will make a Great partner. God Bless. I love your videos
Believe me-- when you've slept in your car for a few weeks in freezing weather, or worse, no car, out in the cold and wet, wondering if your toes will survive, you'll be ready to try the happiness of a warm bed. Why doesn't this fella go to a poor area of town and ask these same questions? Try it.
I’m changing my opinion of who to look up to. Used to be about fame and money wins. Popularity too. They are cool but having a good career and being healthy and true to yourself and as well mannered as you can be is the true hero human for me now. The middle class, the hard workers..
Life is a constant it challenges you, desions are made daily how we manage to provide our basic needs and survive yet being able to enjoy the life experiences and how we navigate through it with others in our lives the connections we make along the way makes it easier or harmful for us to make the life choices that make us who we choose to be and can you recognize yourself in the mirror and face yourself day to day it all matters
Absolute joy to hear from these wise people. A lesson learnt is to appreciate that they have extremely valuable life experience that we can all learn from.
At the crux of all their advice: do more of what make you happy. This involves respecting yourself and your sanity to walk away from stuff that pull you down.
Dont tell your regrets and past secrets idk nope nothing cant remember nopee just be happy 😊 and its true why bring up past hurtful memories or tell the world they will end up judging you dont tell anyone your weaknesses
Rolling Stone song, Getting old is a drag. I feel no regrets, don't wish I was younger, knowing what I know today, about how the world really operates, the well established evil behind it all. This young generation, no happy future!
Money is not everything but can certainly help to have adequate have food roof over head but it certainly cannot but you good health always. You can feel blessed rich if you have genuine love family around you & appreciate life.
beautiful video, especially when the lady said, things in life happen for a reason , be happy :) but it's ok to be unhappy also, as long as there's more happiness than non happy times, then it's all worth it to me
23 here and want more money in order to live better though I am stressing myself to do a flipping masters in order to get what I want. It’s frustrating to hear money doesn’t buy happiness when you childhood was pretty much unlike the norm.
But the interview is exclusively from people who sort of succeeded in their lives and were dealt with the good cards. The not so lucky ones can never bear witness of any kind of regrets, they never had a chance. Like animals who are tortured by humans, they never have a say.
"False Gods of consumption," and "seeking security so doing what you have to do instead of what you wish to do." 👏🙌🙌 Edit: Also appreciate the tree analogy at the end. This whole thing was wholesome. This channel is helping me more than therapy.
oh this hurts, my mum was 80 and die 2 weeks ago. I cannot bear to go on. She was in perfect health, exercises/went to the gym, never drank, never smoke then out of nowhere got cancer. I'm so sad for her. Everyone was shocked because of how active and healthy she was. I'm so sad for her. I really thought he'd have at least another 10 years left. She was as active as a 40-50 year old. You wouldn't have thought she was 80. I miss her so much and I wish I'd have taken a year off work and travelled the world with her on my coin. I am devastated. I want to die.
Grief is the hardest thing we have to go through in life. I’m sorry for your loss. My mum died at the age of 61 only 5 weeks ago. I don’t have much wisdom to share other than be gentle with yourself. Take care!
I'm so sorry for your loss😢. I feel your regret that you didn't know to take the time off to spend with her. Now you know that, do it for yourself or any other loved ones you may have. Your mom lived her best life, and it was her time to go. Celebrate her life by living the best of your's. Life can be short. Be happy ❤
Money doesn't buy happiness, but it does offer the choice. The choice given by money is basically two paths, one is stuff and one is serenity knowing that you have a cushion. If you buy stuff, you become chained to your stuff and this limits you. If you find the cushion, you reach a point in life where objectively, you do have a smaller house or a less quality car, and you begin to doubt your decision. So chains of debt or chains of doubt, you pick.
Happiness means different things to different people, but I agree... the simple things -- at least for me -- are ultimately the most fulfilling. Good friends. Good conversation. Watching natural beauty, to name just a few... 👌@@marknewton6984
Can you PLEASE ask 90 year olds what they'd advise their 80 year old selves? And their 70 year old selves etc.? They will think that by younger you mean 20-30 year olds and maybe you do but people over 50 still need advice...
I love all these beautiful people from the videos!! I would've given them a big hugsss and kisses if i could. Thank you so much for posting this video and spreading love ❤
I'm 65 and financially secure and that leads to less stress I don't have to worry about scrimping on every little thing as long as my health holds up then I should be okay if I didn't have financial security it would be a lot more stressful and I would be a lot more unhappy with just living so money buys the foundation for happiness you may be unhappy after that but that's a different matter. Lo..key infomercial by the way..
My 92 yr old Uncle always said…Money doesn’t buy happiness BUT it makes the suffering a lot easier.
Very wise!

Yes I'm 77 I see it now...money helps a lot in your old age.

Even if you have a high education, nowadays certificates don't have nothing ...many people graduated from universities and they couldn't find jobs
@@adelaaa500I couldn't have a proper degree due to my own circumstance. I agree with you, degree is not everything

Properly digested hardship can be a better indicator of wisdom than age. I know plenty of old people with little wisdom.

I would love to see these questions posed to the old homeless people in Montréal. What is their wisdom?
oh this hurts, my mum was 80 and die 2 weeks ago.
Take care!
So sorry for your loss 🙏🏾
I'm so sorry for your loss😢. I feel your regret that you didn't know to take the time off to spend with her. Now you know that, do it for yourself or any other loved ones you may have. Your mom lived her best life, and it was her time to go.
Celebrate her life by living the best of your's. Life can be short. Be happy ❤
your mother just wants you to be happy now you've had a great life by her side i love you
Life will get better. Please keep going. We care about you ❤
Nice and valuable 🎉🎉
For me, the most important thing in life is that I met Jesus. Sad that no one said that..
Hello from Serbia🌞
Pa nevjerovatno, ja sam iz Hrvatske ali zivim u Irskoj, pozdrav i za vas!!!
Awesome stuff
Great video Will I Am
Great video!
The one guy said were looking for security instead of doing what we dream of doing how true.
Great stuff.
Live simply With or without $$... 😎
Happiness means different things to different people, but I agree... the simple things -- at least for me -- are ultimately the most fulfilling. Good friends. Good conversation. Watching natural beauty, to name just a few... 👌@@marknewton6984
Be your own strong advocate. With all the info available, you the patient must be in charge.
Bravo !
The 94 year old lady in the park bench is absolutely hilarious as well as dropping some real gems she has real comedic talent 👏🏾👏🏾😍
i kinda wish u have a spotify podcast ver of these vids
Can you PLEASE ask 90 year olds what they'd advise their 80 year old selves? And their 70 year old selves etc.? They will think that by younger you mean 20-30 year olds and maybe you do but people over 50 still need advice...
bless everyone
You have to have money enough to not worry about it before you can then say money don't buy happiness.
I love all these beautiful people from the videos!! I would've given them a big hugsss and kisses if i could.
Thank you so much for posting this video and spreading love ❤
They are not “mistakes “ as such…they are regrets !
