- "With My Whole Heart" was written by Thomas Whitfield. First recorded in 1984 by Keith Pringle, this song made a comeback on the 1987 Edwin Hawkins Music and Arts Seminar Mass Choir recording, "Give Us Peace". Thomas Whitfield sings lead.
To listen to "My Trust Lies In You" from this same album with Yolanda Adams & Lawrence Matthews singing lead, visit my blog:

WOW! As one who took part in this historic recording with legends, Edwin & Walter Hawkins, Richard Smallwood, Daryl Coley, and the late Thomas Whitfield, I must say that what you're experiencing today is just a glimpse of what we witnessed during the recording!!! O MYYYY
Kevin Bond - Producer, Keyboardist
Are you aware of any video from those sessions?
You're keyboard skills are very impressive bro. I enjoyed your interview of the legendary James Ingram. Blessings.

Tears just stream......With my WHOLE HEART
Verse:
There's so much in my heart
that I wanna say dear Lord.
There's so much You are
and so much You've done.
I wanna get some help from You, Lord,
in my heart I wanna to try to relate it tonight,
and please forgive me Lord if I start to cry.
Chorus:
(I've got to) tell You how I love You, Jesus,
tell You how I worship and adore You, Master.
Teach me how to honor Thee,
with my whole heart,
I will bless You, Precious Lord.
Bridge:
There's no trouble You can't see me through,
never a worry, never a care, always on time.
When I'm alone, You raise my spirit by Your touch,
You made my day bright,
Oh with my whole heart,
I will bless You, Precious Lord.
Ending:
With my whole heart,
I will bless You, Precious Lord.
Diedra Clarke this was very helpful, thank you
Thank you for sharing 😀
What a powerful, powerful song 💥
Every time I say “With my whole heart “. I think of this song. Thank you Holy Spirit.
This is the type of song you knew who they were singing about.
This is an 'oldie but goodie' that will NEVER be outdated. It is an anointed and powerful worship song and it has blessed me down through the years!! Praise God!!
THIS WHOLE ALBUM NEEDS TO BE RE-RELEASED ONTO CD. IT IS SO POWERFUL.
This was a great seminar session! The anointing was so great that evening in Houston, TX. Thomas Whitfield led us in worship until the shekina glory filled the room as the manifested presence of the Holy Spirit was allowed to have full control. Bishop Walter Hawkins put his signature on this classic that evening as well. PRICELESS.
I was there
I always that this recording was at Howard’s Cramton Auditorium, in DC.
One of my favorite songs of all time. As others have said, this takes me back so many years. I wish writers would seek the Lord for songs with meaning, and an anointing. And that choirs would just sing them instead of doing all these vocal gymnastics. The people want, no, need to be ushered into worship, and not entertained. At least that's my opinion.
I was a child the first time that I heard this song, and now I am of age, it's just a blessing to reflect back til now of how Awesome My God Truly Is. Am making a playlist of all my 70's and 80's gospel.
I remember listening to this album in my home growing up as a child before I could ever play a note. For some reason Thomas Whitfield's music and Edwin Hawkin's music really captivated me.
Years have come and gone and God gave me the gift to play the organ over 20 years ago. I now understand what was so special about this record. Such a classic and so inspiring even as I type. Thank you Lord for the gifts you give.
Thomas Whitfield was playing chords ahead of his time...e.g. the "I'm Encouraged (Reprise)". Holy of Holies stuff!
Yes!! Minister Maestro of Praise.
I love this song! It never gets old.
I had one of the best times of my life recording this album in Houston. Every rehearsal and the final performance was filled with Holy Spirit. These songs ministered not only to the congregation, but also the choir members. We had a beautiful time in the Lord.
I too sung in the choir on this recording in Houston. Alto section! Powerful song and a blessing to me then and now. A classic!
I was there also. Alto section
How many people where in this choir 🤔 😁
Love this Song Minister Thomas Whitfield❤
Two gospel music giants. Thomas & Walter. Awesome song!!!
Gotta put Edwin up in there! 2 Apples from the same tree!!
The GOATs...Thomas Whitfield, Edwin and Walter Hawkins!!
This brings back too many memories, especially as a young pianist playing these songs for many choirs. EVERY SONG on this album/CD stood (and STILL stands) on their individual own as classic pieces of timeless and ageless ministry...
Where is this kind of music these days? I remember this song. I remember how it ushered you into the presence of the Lord. I challenge the saints to fast and pray. We need the Word of God and we need to bring back this type of singing! May God forever Bless the Hawkins Family! RIP Walter and Edwin.
Who's here in December 2020 with their whole heart blessing the Lord!
January 2022!!!! With MY whole heart!!
These songs were a major support system for me when I was going through the worst trials of my life. I listened this song every single day and by doing that I could feel the Lord's presence with in and in me ... and I made it through all the bad and entered into a brand new life in Christ, in Love and Truth.

STILL...This song reaches down to the bottom of my heart; pulls up memories of the countless instances in which I have needed The Lord and He has always been right there, holding my hand, guiding me thru, making a way, rescuing me, lifting me up, healing me, delivering me. Yes, I was in this choir as well, but I was 16yrs old and was singing alto at the time...time! I still go to the Music & Arts Seminar...there is/has always been some great songs birthed from the writers every year. They cam eback to Houston 20yrs later June 2006....the recording was another great accomplishment for the seminar. But nothing like the old ones like this song. :)

My God I miss the Maestro Thomas Whitfield. Back in the day I wasn't aware of the contributions of Rev. James Moore until I saw him at Dr. Jeff Jacobs' Workshop in Annapolis, MD in the early 80's. Man hearing this song again brought me to tears, I wish iTunes was in tune with what to place on their site.
this was the last song Betrum Brown taught the Transfiguration Baptist Church youth choir, just before he went home to be with the lord. we will always miss and love Betrum . until we meet in Glory
Love this album.. a classic.. Thomas Whitfield was a phenomenal writer, producer, singer and organist.. So many got their start with Edwin Hawkins Music and Arts.. Daryl Coley, Yolanda Adams, John P Kee, Lawrence Matthews, etc.. Bishop James Morton's choir(ATL) also remade this song and it was nice, but I love this one the best.
Yes this is my song..

I'M WITH YOU CHRISTINE ON THIS ONE!!
I had to use music software to extract this song off youtube and I have been wearing it out ever since. I wouldn't mind a copy of this at all. I'm even considering teaching this to my choir in the fall.
