Family Christmas Service 151224

Welcome to West Gordon Parish Church of Scotland (Alford, Strathdon, Rhynie)
Our service for the Third Sunday of Advent, 15th December 2024, was a Family Christmas Service led from Alford Church, but Live-Streamed through to our churches in Strathdon and Rhynie, who also took part in the service.
We were delighted to welcome members of the Sunday School, who played an active part in the service. Due to Safeguarding issues, we were unable to stream the service ‘live’ onto the internet, and you will note on the recording, that when the children come up to the front, a visual effect has been included to conceal their identity.
As well as singing some well-known Christmas Carols based on very familiar readings, we also thought further about the figure of John the Baptist and his role in the Advent story.
The readings from the Bible were - Isaiah 9: 2, 6 - 7, Matthew 3: 1 - 6 and Luke 2: 1 - 16
