    I've been saving up for this exact setup for some upcoming travel. I was carrying an x100s before it got stolen, but the GR looks like a great replacement. Thanks for the rundown!

    I love my Ricoh lol, I actually combo my Ricoh with a paper shoot. Then i shoot all my videos on my iPhone 15 pro max, through the black magic app. Man huge difference using that app.
    I wanted to invest into the osmo pocket 3 but eh maybe when the next one comes up. I really loved my videos from my phone.
    I really want to stick to my mobile set up as much as possible. I have been loving it so far honestly

    Nice choices. These are high quality tools. The size of the Ricoh GR iii and high quality images make it a fantastic travel and everyday companion because it takes up no space. Also, the pocket 3 isa great go to for video.

    The best two EDCs indeed. With so much travelling, have you ever drop your Gr/Op3 without a strap?

      Thankfully I have not!

    I just received my Fuji X100VI a few weeks ago.
    I also have a Sony A7iii with Sigma 14-24 2.8 and 24-70 2.8.
    Before i had the Fuji, i always brought the A7iii with me but now that i daily carry the Fuji, either in a Sling or in my work backpack, i plan to bring only the Fuji on shorter/ work trips (3-4 days).
    When i do a fully fledged multi-week holiday where i am not only in a city but nature as well, i will bring the Sony and maybe the Fuji as an addition. This depends a little bit on the trip, if i have to carry all my stuff every day or if i can store stuff in a hotel room.
    I also have a GoPro and a drone but i only bring them if i don't have to carry them - so on motorcycle trips mostly.
    I'll bring the GoPro for a beach holiday, tho.

    Thanks for the video! Deep down I know that I should downsize in terms of gear, but I can't leave my mirrorless camera hahaha. I definitely want to invest in the Osmo Pocket 3, but I'm still on the fence if I should wait for the new one or not, if there is a new one releasing soon haha

      Haha I totally relate to this! I don’t want to miss the opportunity to make a beautiful video on my FX3 if the moment arises! I don’t think they’ll be coming out with the Pocket 4 for a while since the 3 came out Nov 2023 - but It’ll be cool to see what they do!

    No sharpening added with the Ricoh GR, the lens is actually that sharp. You pictures look great, would be curious to know your settings/preset?

      @gravel.travel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No sharpening in post! I just added the preset to the description - give it a shot!

    Have you ever considered using the Insta 360 Ace Pro instead of the DJI Osmo pocket 3 camera?

    • @gravel.travel
      @gravel.travel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven’t! Mostly I’m not a fan of the action style camera format (the rectangle body style) - the Osmo pocket, because of how easy it is to hold and walk around with (with built in gimbal) I find myself using it far more!

    I would love to make those my EDC too but their prices are extremely cost prohibitive. What alternatives would you recommend for folks with a smaller budget?

      hey! I totally understand they are some pricey tools - this video seems to have some awesome suggestions for all budgets th-cam.com/video/0IQpOA0QpBk/w-d-xo.html

    I'm about to get a Ricoh and am still torn on the Osmo Pocket vs Action just to have something weatherproof too. What do you think?

    • @gravel.travel
      @gravel.travel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      How often are you wanting to shoot content where you need waterproof?! If surging, swimming, scuba, whatever water sport is huge part of your travels/life I can see the action being worth it! But if it’s just a few times a year, get the Pocket! You’ll have an amazing 4K vlogging camera in your pocket.

      @@gravel.travel I used to shoot for years with a GoPro on and off motorcycles/ferries/etc (sadly had to sell all my gear and start from scratch)
      I've just heard the Osmo Pocket can't even look at a drop of water but then also saw other TH-camrs use it in light snow without a problem.

      I agree with Gravel on this one. I own both the Pocket 3 and Action 4.
      I originally didn’t want to purchase the Pocket 3 cause I thought the Action 4 would be fine, but I liked how the Pocket 3 had gimbal stabilization, low light capability, the ability to switch from front to rear camera fast, face tracking, and bokeh. The Action 4 will also give you great footage and shoot in LOG like the Pocket 3, but no bokeh, is a little bulkier, low light capability is not as good.
      I definitely only use my Action 4 for POV shots and specific weather conditions now while the Pocket 3 is a perfect vlog camera with great accessories if you get the creator bundle: a wide angle filter, a DJI Mic 2 with dead cat, tripod mount, extra battery mount, and others.

      @@documentprogress Ohhh thank you so much! the pocket 3 might be better then especially because I saw people mount it to cars and motorcycles so it’s not too dainty (I wouldn’t drive/ride over 60mph/100kmh with it anyway). Thanks again!!!
