Awesome work and progress!! The only downside to this video is that it makes me feel even worse for staying in bed and not doing my ride this morning!!! But still very happy for you!!
Supper interesting. Really like this style of video. Informative, interesting. And everyone is supper chilled. None of this youtube over hype, NLP crap. Keep up the great work. I’ll be sure to be watching your future video’s.
Great progress and well packaged and explained! If you move your hands to the drops during the sprint you can easily hit 1500W like Patrick and so forth ;)
I’ve read that when you weigh more you can produce higher watts in 15 second sprints, the challenge is when you loose weight to produce the same watts in sprints as before.
perfect timing, Cavendish has just retired, they're looking for a new sprinter.😀 seriously keep going, don't be too focused on numbers, ride to enjoy. get as much z2 as possible - an overnight gravel ride would be good.
I keep saying they should give you a contract and no one listens to me! Awesome stuff Benji, great progress. Losing that extra weight will make a big difference, as long as you keep your training volume the same and keep that muscle. It becomes harder to progress when one has reached the ideal weight. That's where I'm at, so can't wait for you to reach that so you can help me with that as well!
Well done. those results indicate to me you could easily race at a decent level once your weight drops and with more training. your sprint is also looking good enough to be contesting bunch sprints.
This video doesn't have the benjis pain face thumbnail like the last ones. Idk why but i thought that was funny 😅. i really believe that you with 90 kg will be flying! Keep up the grind. Looking forward to the next video
An excellent result for all your hard work mate Chapeau! Can I ask was it a seated sprint cos that's what they asked for or are you just more comfortable sprinting in the saddle?
@@BenjiNaesenTV I have to say those are pretty impressive numbers for a seated sprint, You'd probably go higher on the turbo/road too. I think you can be really chuffed with those, I know I would! 8)
Well done Benji. Think you could already kick Patrick’s @ , at least on the flat😂Nice journey for us to follow. Great that you’ve got well earned access to pro networks like Zwift and Ghent Universiteit. Keep it real!🤛🏼
You 've made a little mistake and made your January-self lighter, I believe the correct weight is 110kg. Would be a bad thing if you actually gained 14kg between January and March. 110 to 114, that's within normal fluctuation.
My watch says my vo2 max is 55, which is above average for my age group. I have been cycling for the past 4 years and started running a year ago. Not sure about the watch vo2 max accuracy since I'm always struggling to stay with the group ride for more than 30 minutes.
Mine was over 45 according to my watch at one point but now decreased to 34 even though my segment times and average speed are getting better 😕 maybe I've become much more aero without realising it haha
Garmin’s algorithm seems to be exaggerated in my experience, my device reading is 62 but in the lab I’ve performed 60,5. Having said that like with every metric, you can still track progress watching the number increase over time.
I guess I would say that I trust the result on this one more than the Ramp Tests on Zwift, because: - On a Zwift Ramp Test, I ride 15 minutes to reach 300 watts in 1-minute intervals. - On this Step Test, I rode 21 minutes to reach 320 watts in 3-minute intervals. But somehow, I received a result of 227 watts in the Zwift test, which I 100% couldn't uphold for 1 hour in April. Meanwhile the Step Test gave me the 215 result which is more realistic for me.
@BenjiNaesenTV Cheers Benji! My experiences told me Zwift and its ramp test exaggerates FTP estimations, and back when I used it, I did my workouts @95% FTP. Good luck, keep up the great work!
This specific university doesn't really do public testing, but I'm aware that there's quite a few places that do perform these for a certain price. No clue how much though. Might be best googling for VO2 Max or Lactate Treshold tests in your area.
Im 44. Vo2 max 65. Ftp when on top form 300 to 320. Weight 68 to 70 kgs. I do not train that much. I do have genetics and ive done a bunch of similar tests on various reputable labs. Cheers Loose weight and hammer it
2023: Benji gets invited by Gent University.
2024: Benji rides Gent-Wevelgem.
Now THIS is epic
Letsgo Benji! everything going smooth so far. Happy to see more biking video's!
Great work, Benji! Enjoy seeing your progress.
Great stuff Benji. I have a similar FTP to you at present, it's nice to follow someone who I can relate to with their efforts!

That's some great insight. That your sprint is that strong, and that you would climb well with weight loss. Cheers. Looking forward to more vids.
Wow that 15s score is great... Will be interesting to see how your vo2 will increase as you improve... I'm sure you'll go >40
Great work Benji. Looks like a sprint off is what you need with LR
the boy is progressing !!!
Love these videos and the production value of it. Thanks, Benji!
Thanks PJ! :)
Great music/voice mix this time (volume). I liked it better than the previous test videos. Also, nice explanation and interesting data. Keep it up!
In a few months you'll be a unit !!
I look forward to seeing Benji vs Patrick on the Andorra Hills. You'll smash it
Great work Benji! Keep it up, really interesting and inspiring series of videos!

Hey Benji loving your work, maybe you could look at some core or gym to go with your riding to lock your form and position in.
Keep up the great work!
actually surprisingly insightful, thanks for great video
Love watching this Benji, inspirational to see someone else on my level getting out there and smashing it.

Nice Benji so nice to see your journey keep on going and making those zone 2 workout. =). Nice progess. over 1000 watts.

Wow that Sprint power is excellent. I peak at only 1280, 15s is 1000 bang on. At 68kg that's already pretty good.
Commenting to show support and affect the algorithm. Great work buddy 🎉
Benji on rim brakes? Go Benji Go!
Great improvements Benji!
Great video - keep it up! Would be great to see one of you doing some aero testing in a wind tunnel!
Great stuff, Benji! Keep up the good work.
Great vid. ❤ What a progress 😳
The only way is up!stay healthy.
An excellent result for all your hard work mate Chapeau! Can I ask was it a seated sprint cos that's what they asked for or are you just more comfortable sprinting in the saddle?
Was asked to be a seated sprint, but I'm also not comfortable sprinting out of the saddle on rollers. 😂

@@BenjiNaesenTV Part of the lead out train for Cav?
Sterk! goed bezig man!
Dont be gone for so long! Great content
Awesome…. Love seeing this
A comparison between your tested VO2 against the calculated VO2 from Zwift would be interesting.
POWAAAAA Great stuff Benji!!!
Awesome stuff Benji! Head up to Sheffield to climb Winnats Pass when you're next in the UK maybe??
I'll write it down, but I'm afraid I'll mostly be in the Farnborough area.
i vote hardknott or applecross.
@@BenjiNaesenTV I see! Instead perhaps a cool idea for a video would to compare your real vs virtual Box Hill (Surrey Hills) time!
@@BenjiNaesenTV we could always go visit my brother in Sheffield and do some of the climbs in the area 😉
Great sprint Benji
Really nice content I really enjoy watching this journey🤩
Great vid Benji!
Goed bezig maat 👍 keep it going 💪💪
Sprinty Boi
Benji, you're amazing! Well done 👍👍 I'm so jealous 😂

Good job mate!! ❤
Benji I love it.
Does anyone know what a session like this would cost? Amazing progress Benji!!
Yay! New video!!
Just make sure you chase your own success and don't let LR turn you into his tug-buddy!!!!!👋
Well done Benji, you would make a solid track sprinter, any velodrome near where you are?
I'll be spending the second half of the year near Farnborough in the UK so I should be able to find one.
I did one last friday at energylab, I can feel how painful it is looking at this video😂
Thumbnail almost got me. I misread: First VO2 MASK Test
I definitely would have to attack you on a hill, because you'd dust me in a sprint easily ;)
Yes! Keep the struggle :)

Correct, haha.
The fan achievement unlock tho 😂
4:50 i disagree with the testing protocoll. prima, we didn't find neither 2 nor 4mmol 🙃🙃 what's the point?
Benji might be the next Cavendish. Who knows.

1300+ seated is really decent
Out sprinting derek gee soon 😂
Do you know if the breakaway App will be available for Android?
They're working on it, but will take a few months.
Can anyone have this test made for them and if so, what's the cost for it? Would be interesting to test.

in Belgium/netherlands anyone can so such a test at Energy Lab for arround 200-250€
champs-elysees doesn't know what's gonna hit it
I can't support you on Android?
They're currently working on release an Android app in the hopefully not-so-far future. Appreciate the support though.
lolz wattshaming 🤣🤣
Sprinting on the hoods! LR would cringe!
One of my next videos explains why, haha.
did you really gain 14kilos in two months while training on a bike???
I didn't. It's a typo. 😂
Weight to high?!? Naw, just a normal southern american bubba. My friends call me skinny (american) I say "average Dutch male height and weight."
WTf, sprintkanon!
Talking about anything other than VO2max based on that kind of short test with bug steps is just irritating. But, nice suffering anyway 😅
Who ever is reading this... have a great day! 💖😗
