Good morning Elizabeth, Thanks for taking us along with you today ! I learned some neat things. Glad to see you got each of you a crab. Always love to see the videos you both come up with, say hi to Chris & double ear rubs Mona. Keep up the great work & keep smiling !
You have a lovely personality and presence about you. Love this episode! This type of video where you demonstrate your wildlife knowledge is very entertaining and educational. Please keep doing this type of video. Finally, check out High Island on the Texas coast for both shore birds and songbirds, it's a worldclass birding destination.
I enjoyed this video, a first solo video I believe. Very informative for sure, thank you for this. Keep up the good work, perhaps Chris can be available for the next, but you did a fantastic job solo... ~AB~
You guys are really living your best life, huh? The channel is so fun, you do all sorts of different things, and your enthusiasm is contagious. I was in Galveston, Texas once when I was very little with my father-that was my first time in America. It was amazing, especially the long coastline with houses on stilts!
Trying 😅 very happy to hear you enjoy the content! The houses on stilts is pretty crazy…every time we see it we wonder how much of a pain it would be to get furniture up all those stairs!!
Love birding on Texas coast. We ID'd over 80 birds in October on a field trip near Rockport. They will have hummingbird migration festivities there in October.
I dig the learning you share here. Prickly pear, fancy birds, ....the older I get, the more I'm curious about bird watching. And when you show *original Blade Runner? .....well, I always knew I was following the right channel ... and again confirmed. 😉
The spoonbills your looking for are really common down here in the lower laguna madre. I see them every time I go out fishing around green island, rattlesnake island and numerous other islands down here out of the mouth of the arroyo colorado.
...way to fun...thanks...so much to learn Ms. Cande. (I have slopped around in that bay water several times- I recall sliding feet helps prevent sing ray hits...)
Your channel popped up on my suggested vids, really happy it did, subbed to your channel, love the content you both are putting out. Cheers from San Antonio Texas
Love all your videos and can't wait for the next one. I live in North Carolina and I know you both have family there. And Chris has family near Asheville, if I remember correctly. I pray they are safe. It's terrible what has happened in that area.
Great video I queued it up for this morning and as I was watching it, I flipped out I didn’t realize you were in a birder!. My son came down to get ready for work and I said you wouldn’t believe it my chill out channel, the woman is a BIRDER(typo i did not catch on my phone having old eyes... she is not a "burger" lol) and his comment as of course she is. I’m a hobbyist here in Northern New England so he just rolled his eyes about all the geeks, we’re sending all our birds your way now, migration has started here with all the warblers, etc.
I saw an alligator in the spoils by San Antonio Bay last summer. I hope you got the camping resource references I sent a while ago. Watch for flocks of cormorant later in the season. Have fun!
Yep, we saw them! It is an unfortunate part of Texas that most land is private. But good to know most of those places stay empty, even if you have to pay.
There is not a link for the placemat, unfortunately. You’ll just shoot us an email at candeadvntrs@gmail.com with the request and address. And then I’ll confirm your payment via PayPal and it will be shipped off :)
I like that you make content on subjects you’re good at. So informative on the birds and plants. Your excitement about the subject matter really sells it too. Good job with the soundtrack. And I really like your bikini top too! Love you guys and please try to keep eating healthy.
This was easily in my top 5 of your videos!!! Elizabeth... you are awesome and as a fellow birder this was especially fun!!! If you ever start a Patreon, more of these would be perfect BTS vlogs for that!!!! Just wonderful... thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you! We have a Patreon, but do not post BTS content. We barely have time for these full production videos, so it would be challenging to create more for Patreon. But we post on Facebook and Instagram as well.
@@CandEAdventures any chance you might come up to Kearney NE for the Sandhill crane migration next April? 600,000 pass through that area plus several Whooping Cranes. Be wonderful to meet you!!!!
I’m no ornithologist either, but when I lived in Naples/Ft Myers at FGCU, I saw quite a variety of migratory and resident birds, including the spoonbill. Favorite pastime of mine was to watch the Snail Kites over the canal by my house catch and eat apple snails. They sat on the dam fence and created a pile of shells underneath that was about a truckload. Probably should have gotten a pic!
Watch out for fence posts. I ran into some of those in galveston bay and it had lures stuck to it. It really sucked in the salt water but we quickly forgot about it when we encountered a Portuguese man of war type animals. We got them on our legs and on our backs. It taught me never to swim where you can't see what's going on. Nice job on the video. It was quite educational and interesting. Good lunch choice. Up in San Antonio, Sea World has Rosette's on display. If I remember right the name of on the bird's is Sarge. They are non-releasable ambassador animals they care of for NOAA.
Loved this episode. PLEASE share the naturalist element wherever possible. Takes your vids to a whole new level of cool! 😊
oh yah, totally agree. you are spot on!!
Always love the “nerd” segment of the episodes, and now we get a full-length show! Awesome!
“Driving around in this old Honda truck that the bank lets us borrow month to month”… poetic!
Thank you for taking us to work with you! It was great to see a sliver of one of your non- CANDE days.
Loved this video! Not only are you entertaining but, I learn so much.

Elizabeth - thank you! 🙂
Great episode. You mixed in work, which you were very good at, and very articulate…then some fishing and crabbing.
Always love a nerd adventure.
The most unique and hilarious bucket list I’ve ever heard of haha
Thanks for sharing your day with us!
Absolutely loved this episode ❤️
Loved the nerdy twist, hope we can see a few more solo episodes by each of you just for the different flavor, twist.

Very sneaky use of a hooters cup while birding LOL. I LOVE prickly pear well chilled from the fridge, prefer the green ones though
Ayyy someone got it!! I went all the way to hooters for that takeout cup for a lame joke 😂

@@CandEAdventures did you go see Chris at his new job as a server? :) :)

I have no idea how long you guys have been at it but your attitude shows your channel will be successful. Great episode. Keep at it.
I am impressed you stayed upright after stepping in the hole … audibly gasped, thinking you were going under 😮!
Another great episode 😁

Awesome job! Loved this episode! As usual, your channel rocks!
Around 17:18 agree 100% with neoprene booties but isn’t it amazing how hard they are to get them off when water gets inside them.
They are fantastic, but that point is very valid! Both a pro and a con that they don’t come off easily 😂
I feel almost as excited as you seem!
What an amazing addition to STX you guys are - I love your channel and am looking forward to more!
You caught the bird getting the crab on camera! Just like the professional wildlife filmmakers - how exciting!
Love birding on
