What’s with Toyota & not putting sunroofs on their cars? Imagine if this car had a panoramic sunroof🙌🏽
But honestly speaking, Toyotas are getting very expensive & I’m struggling to see why cause they’re built locally. You’re looking at close to +-R440k for a hatchback & it’s not even a performance one. At that price I would honestly just be looking at a Polo GTI
Thabiso I really wish Toyota would put a sunroof on this car aswell , it would attract more younger buyers who are looking for something with a bit more style.
In terms of prices , I think that’s the reason why SUV’s have become so popular, the Corolla Cross is a much bigger car but is cheaper than the hatch , a brand new Corolla Cross XR is around R 438 200 and most people will opt for that since it offers more space.

Great review! I bought this car 6 months ago, coming from a VW Polo, it is truly amazing to drive. Even to this day, I literally enjoy starting it up. No fuss, no keys in the ignition, push a button and go. Simple as that, not forgetting its reliability. Only downside is bootspace but 95% of the time I drive alone, so no worries. The 1.2 engine is surprisingly nippy.
Edit: Also, compared to the Polo, it brings peace of mind, knowing you can park anywhere without your headlights being stolen.
Peace of mind matters Jordan , having a car you’re hesitant to park or drive in certain places is a downer.
The 1.2 engine really took me by suprise , I honestly wasn’t expecting much from it at first , I’m a bit disappointed they have discontinued it , but hopefully the new updated 2.0 engine is powerful enough for those who don’t want the Hybrid 1.8

@makhenojones6784 I live in Cape Town boss and occasionally I work from home and some days I have to travel to town, as I work there. Traffic is hectic!!!
If traffic is really bad, 8.1/100. City driving is 6.7/100 and highway driving is 6.3/100. If you do 130kph on long roads (4-5 hours), it actually drops to 5.9/100.
If you drive like a demon sometimes, it goes to 7.5/100. This car is really efficient.
It actually got better after it's first service, however on a full tank, the best range I have seen was 690km. Toyota claims 780km on a full tank. I am not sure if this includes the reserve tank because I never drive the car under a quarter tank.
I have to say, I am getting engaged soon and soon to be fiance will be living with me. I am already looking for another car as rear legroom is tight and boot space is small! Again if you single or have a girlfriend, it's perfect.

I'd love to own this car but it's just far too expensive for me. The new hybrid model looks amazing though
Worse the Hybrid will be coming in at around R 490 900 for the entry level XS and over half a million for the Hybrid XR , so for most people who want a Corolla hatch a used one would be the way to go.
I read somewhere that Toyota has jam-packed they newer models with with a lot of spec , even the entry-level model comes standard with adaptive cruise control.

This car has really kept it's value. The prices are refusing to go down and with the low (relative) sales they've had and how reluctant people are to sell this car, I doubt it will get cheaper when the hybrid us released

For starters let me say I've finally caught up🔥
Now the Corolla has always been something that flew past my mind cause it was just meh but this new one is properly gorgeous. Went from being meh to being something that's on my "wanted first cars" list. I didn't even know that there was a facelifted Corolla already so thanks for that. I'm also a bit sceptical about CVT's but I'll trust your judgement about this particular CVT.

Toyota is known for reliability maybe that’s why it’s a bit pricy these days 😅 but despite that I’m also a big fan of the Corolla hatch, the looks are on point Neo.

The Corolla Cross has been facing backlogs for some time now. , think it had to do with the flooding in Durban but production should be getting back on track soon…
