Beautiful car indeed. For its aggressive sporty look the only thing missing that would make this corolla a perfect hatchback, is for it to be turbo charged, especially the 2 liter engine. But never the less I am getting it anyways
I hear the price complaints. I think it's cost a lot but, if you look at the market. It has very few competitors. No VW Golf. No Honda Civic Hatch. No Opel Astra. No Renault Megane. No Hyundai i30 No Ford Focus. Only Mazda 3, which costs more. And then there's the German Trio, Audi A3, BMW 1 series & Mercedes-Benz A-class. And they all cost waaay more at the same spec level. This, while costly, is a gem in dying and expensive Premium Hatchback market
Fabulous car hands down. My only problem is the boot space. Also, with that price tag i feel they've (Toyota) left behind their primary consumer. Toyota is no longer that car bought buy lower middle class citizens maan... it has become unapologetically expensive over the years and that bothers me. Great product non the less.
1 thing I absolutely can't stand about Toyotas is how they have the most expensive cars in their category and the worst interior with almost no specs at all. And the wind noise that gets into the car feels like you're driving a lada from 1940s
@Ramoloi Mofokeng the main reason o loved that engine is the torque. When traveling at 120 kph, the car is super quiet and relaxing But non turbo cars tend not to have as much torque, and when cruusing at 120kph, the car sounds like its over worked. Plus, i think the 2.0 will be thirstier than the 1.2T
The Toyota Corolla Hybrid is pretty much an old school Prius. That's all they sell in Europe BTW, and it's very solid overall. 6 months wait minimum for a Corolla Touring Sport. I'm disappointed Toyota doesn't sell the Touring Sport model outside Europe. Taxis here only buy those, RAV4s, and Lexus Hybrids (which are based on Toyotas). For efficiency, in cities, you cut fuel consumption almost in half. That's the advantage of the hybrids. NBew models are 140bhp, or 200bhp for the 2.0L.

I don't see no hybrid Mazda 3 in SA?

I'm disappointed that Toyota has not continued that 1.2T drive train
I test drove it, and i was perfect. I'm not sold on the hybrid
You can get a 2.0, 120kW petrol engine which is more power than the 1.2T engine and being naturally aspirated, it drives smoother.
