    Im researching for a story set in the mid to late 60s about a documentarian in the hight of the civil rights movement, so its great to find videos like these actually showing off equipment from the time. Thanks a lot!

    I had one of these, and the way you grab it to pull the picture out is wrong. There is a lanyard with a handle attached to the side. After you take the shot, hold that handle in one hand, letting the camera swing from the lanyard ("swinger", get it?), and then pull the tab and photo out with your other hand. Much easier. After 30 seconds or so, peel the photo off of the developer sheet and wait for it to dry. Then they had a little container of stuff to wipe on the photo to help protect it. The developer paper was stinky and messy.

      Not wrong at all. The plastic handle is too brittler to use to pull the film out - it would snap right off the camera - Mike Raso

    My mom bought one for me around 1972 or so. I could have sworn it would take color pics but maybe remembering wrong. I believe you had to count 60 seconds for development time. Those were the days.

    I've been waiting for this video for months! Thank you. I have some 3000b coming my way and I think the Swinger deserves it a little more than my other 100-series Land cameras. Best $7 I've ever spent on a camera.

    Ten years after the video, it’s quite an “unearthing”!
    A family member gave me his old Big Swinger but unfortunately it is impossible for me to find any fuji FP-3000b pack, or one or two at an exorbitant price on eBay...
    You would have commercialized and affordable pack to recommend at poor beginner that I am please?
    Thank you in advance for your help !

    Mr. Raso, have Fuji discontinued the 3000B film and or the 100c film as of 07/07/2019? Love that you all are all about film, so keep talking film.

    • @michaelraso
      @michaelraso 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both films are discontinued. Any film you see is "new" old stock. (As of July 2019)

    • @Curiousme100
      @Curiousme100 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelraso I really don't understand why these companies( especially Fuji)are discontinuing a product that everybody is using, needing and wanting. So, what do we do now? I like that film for my 4x5 and was getting excited because some of the Polaridis could use them. The price even skyrocketed, when I was in class in 2011 the film was $13-15 dollars, now it's $60-79 almost $80 for an 8 to 10 sheet ok. 🤔

    • @michaelraso
      @michaelraso 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Curiousme100 Well, here's the thing - FP-100c was used for Photo ID outlets worldwide and FP-3000b had a scientific application. The world swithed to digital and us hobbyists are not enough to make it worthwhile for The Fuje! It is what it is.

    Hello hi! I see this vid was uploaded yearsss ago. (I've been going through all these darn youtube looking for the answer) That's ok. I have a Polaroid Swinger ZIP. Says it calls for Type 87 film. Well.... I've been all over Google, eBay, Facebook marketplace. I live in NYC and I'm searching high and low for Type 87, to no avail. Not to worry, if there is a will there is a way. I'm doing some film and camera experiment'in with other cameras with success and now I want to experiment with film for this the swinger babe. I know its "expensive" but the price isn't a problem at the moment, so no worries about that. I was wondering if ANYONE has tried using FP-100c film with this camera, and can show me photos that prove its work. Anything will help me feel better about buying a 10 pack for $100 from Japan. lol. Thanks to you, and to anyone with some answers.

      What ?? To FIT FP100C 3x4 camera onto a camera that took the Type 80 series film that was 3"x3" Will Not Work... And do not think of trimming the FP100C film onto the Zip camera, you just make a Chemical Mess.

    • @byvero5799
      @byvero5799 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexcarrillo5510 Hey! Thanks for the reply. I would never trim any Pac film ever. That would be ridiculous! I did find out that type 87 and type 88 film aren’t made anymore, and type 100 C fit perfectly into a Polaroid Reporter from 1952. Thankfully, I figured it out and I’m able to use the film, but not the ZIP camera. That’s OK. Now I have a great piece of history collecting dust in my home.

    Do you HAVE to use bulbs to take photos?

    • @michaelraso
      @michaelraso 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can shoot in Daylight without bulbs. You twist the exposure lever til the words "YES" appear (when shooting outside).

    • @amberxraeee
      @amberxraeee 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just bought film for mine. I'm not sure if the camera works because I got it and the swinger 20 both for $17 on Ebay, but I put the film in, twisted (a yes never showed up, but I pressed the shutter anyway. I did see the checker pattern though but no yes) and the photo came out all white. The film expires December of 2015. Any idea what may be wrong? Thanks
