A Camden Son (ode to my only one)
    3:30 The snow flies horizontal
    pushing back against last year's
    progress.
    In the row of houses
    in the dark confines
a family sits behind a heater,
    the wind singing to them
    a lullaby
    of summers -
    gone
    of a son -
    gone to sleep.
    Nestled in winter's bones
No one can hear them weep.
    .

Being from Newark, I love seeing the diversity in Northern and Southern Jersey as far as culture and scenery. Camden takes so much after Philly. Newark doesn't have many rowhouses, its mostly buildings and taller 3-4 story multifamily houses.

James Hernandez77777 then move Jersey to the Midwest... Of course N.Y. and Philly gon be brought up its two of the largest cities in the U.S. and NJ happen to be cushioned between them and apart of their metropolitan areas. That is a huge part of what makes Jersey unique...and to have a discussion, cursing and all caps is not necessary.

Yo Yo dose houses are most of the time abandoned by their former owners. Like in Detroit gangs are using them as shelters and place to hide drugs. And we all know how American system works. People crumbing under debts. It’s a fact. And what Trump did a few times ago won’t help. Shutting down #Medicaid and giving financial support to the wealthy class by this unfair tax reform will definitely make things worst. Poor people will be more poor and rich ones will be more rich. Unfortunately. People don’t understand dat creating jobs is nothing when someone can’t heal without waiting to be paid to paycheck. Social health security was a good thing for Americans at least to reduce the gap.

30 years ago it was still shit. You got to go back to the 1950s. Cos back in the 80s, they would rob you, steal your car, your dog, your gold toothises, shoes, and probably rape you too. And that's during the day. Night time was another ballgame. But pre 1960s, I heard it was a real happening town. You drive a few miles out of Camden in either direction, you will see a whole different side. It gets real nice. Oaklyn is gorgeous, clean and peaceful. You can walk down the street without getting stabbed, or stepping in human shit. Or seeing someone get killed. Or a dead body. Yeah, I've seen a dead body out in the open. During the day. Thankful to have what I have now.

The block is cold...the block is cold...the block is cold...the block is cold, cold. Camden looks quite striking in the snow. I hope the homes that are occupied have heat. Fix the streets and the rest will follow. Seriously. Attention needs to be paid to infrastructure if these places are going to revitalize.
