Great review of the book and your coloring is amazingly well done. The dinosaur you were thinking of in the beginning was a stegosaurus with the plates on it's back ( in this case, houses)
Hi Claire, i'm loving Kerby's new book too and i already order mine at Book Depository to get my book faster, so i'm waiting after this book to color my first page which i already know which ones but i'm shure when i will start coloring on this Stunning Book it will be very difficult to close it LOL! Love so much Kerby's Books i have all of his coloring books but this one will be one of mt fav. i thinbk i wait to have my copy on my hands to decided but i really love the Amazing Artwork of each scenes and my Fineliners would be very handy for this new ones too, so i'm ready and has you have the fantastic chance to color on this book Claire well enjoy and i absolutely love your Gorgeouys picture specially the city under the dea, you did a Fantastic job, love it xx Thank You for a super great details review Claire which i love to watch xx

Hi Claire, thank you for such a great review. I totally agree with you, I think this is Kerbys best book yet, I'm so pleased that there aren't loads of those little doodle things !. I've just ordered my copy , it's arriving tomorrow. I'm very excited !!!!

Thanks for your review Claire! My copy should arrive next week, can't wait to have it in my hands! All images are fantastic, but the monkey, cat, clock and lion are my favorite so far. Kerby's imagination is out of this world! Lots of water scenes, which is a bit scary for me, I'll need to practice a lot before coloring those for sure. I was about to order Mythomorphia when I watched your flip through and ended up buying this one instead, it's just amazing
will take forever to finish it and I just bought the Mythographic books … too much to color and too little time!! hope for a warm summer so I can color in my garden
The buildings on the page with the mushroom are also reminiscent of Russia. Google an image of Moscow and you’ll see similar and very colourful buildings
This is a weirdly specific question, but - Can you maybe compare the paper quality of the US Versions of Hanna Karlzon Books with this book? I have Magical Dawn US Edition because there was no Dutch one and I hate the paper quality. I'm scared, this might be the same?

Absolutely the most in depth review I have ever seen. Now, I will be buying my first Kerby book! I'm especially glad to see that the doodles are gone. Those goofy doodles are why I never bought one of his books before.
I would like to know what type of pencil and any other media you used in the flamingo page. How did the pencils lay down? What type of paper? Is the paper smooth? Toothy? Would it take watercolor? Marker?

I used Prismacolor. It is thick with a light tooth and takes wet media very well x
I absolutely love your flamingos!!! I love the birds, the sky and the water (I like it with "a lot" of acrylic paint...it makes it mysterious). As always, I love your review as well and I can't wait to get my copy of the book.

i dont think the cover material is nice bc it shows fingerprints a scratches very easy but it does feel nice but i think the materials they used together on the cover looks cheep. i also wish the paper inside was less bright
Claire! I love your review. You have the reviews of anyone. Thank you so much for all the time you take for each page, you point out much more than I would have seen. The “stork “ is actually a blue heron., Which is my favorite bird of all. See if you can find what one sounds like. They are almost like a flying dinosaur and their voice/call sounds very much like what you would think a dinosaur bird would sound like! I loved the picture you colored and thank you for linking your nail color background again in your comment. I know I’ve watched it before but I’m definitely going to have to watch it again. And! Thank you for telling all of us poor US folks that have to wait for the US version to come out that it’s available on book depository. I immediately went and ordered it from them and canceled my Amazon order! 😘😘😘😘

I saw a tip online recently on how to flatten Kerby's books, and get into the crease. Basically you find the middle and open it. The starting on one side, open each page and flatten down, until you get back to book completely closed. Then find middle again, and repeat process on other side. I've tested this on his other books, and it works!

I always watch your reviews cause they're the most thorough :) I love Kerby's books, however, it takes me forever to finish one illustration (duh) and somehow these colouring books sit on the shelf for a very long time until I finally pick them up. But this one surprised me so much! I love the illustrations, they feel kind of different from his usual images. I might pick it up when it's available in Poland :) thanks for another great review!
The Polish edition is coming out March 17th :)

Thanks so much Claire for doing this review. I just bought this book on Amazon. Can't wait to get it!! Readying my coloring pencils. Only thing that would make this book better would be if the images were one sided. And if it was spiral bound.

This new Kerby Rosanes book is gorgeous! I agree that it looks like the best since Mythomorphia. The drowned land is Atlantis, which I'm sure you have remembered by now.

This book looks absolutely stunning. I'm excited to get it. I love the picture you colored. Could you please share how to do the underwater technique that you do with the paint.? I have tried to do it several times and just can't get it right.

Yes! Very stunning! I can't wait to get my hands on one, lol. I'm going to do the pages with the shoes. My favorite out of the book. I think your water looks fine. The whole page turned out amazing! How long did it take you to color it? I don't know why, but it takes me forever to color a page. Lol. 😄 😄. I love it that he's not got all those little dudes in there ether. Lol. He's definitely out done himself this time! Looks like it's going to be one of my favorite out of all his books! Thanks for sharing! 😉 💖.

I have also done a silent flip-through of this book.
I love his imagination, but they are just too detailed for my ADHD brain, I would not have the patience to colour his pages!.. utterly amazing though❤️
