Ding didn‘t listen 😢
The way Gukesh talks so softly 🥺🤍
Gukesh is a true gentleman.
I love watching these guys just talk about chess with no pressure
Why to take pressure In the first place?
Ding chilling

Thats the greatness of the world champion, he is chilling while some random player from norway is confused about rules

I like how instead of castling they call it blundering your rook....
They could have sent out that information beforehand, looks funny to see them discussing it there.
Ding be like i am not playing this messed up stuffs😅
Ding:- why am i here
Just to suffer
just to castle
I am so proud of Gukesh 🎉 That he made himself such a tough player that he is talking casually with the top players of this planet
Ding probably pay attetion more listening than visualizing, thats why he is staring and just listening while Magnus is just looking to everyone
You just know he's getting ready to win because he asked a question about the rules 😂
The most important question was about how the knight moves. It was on one of Magnus press conferences.

3:16 "You can only castle, yeah, it's simple." Everyone nods. These guys are on another frequency.
I really don't want to support any Chinese player. But man, Ding is from another planet*. How can you not love this man.
Yep agreed
wut
Dont bring race into this you weirdo.
Why you don't wanna support any Chinese player?
Have they cheated in chess too in the past, like the Olympics?
It's gonna be fun to see how players will perform now. Coz now it's pure thinking and not just some theory to remember for the opening. Opening is gonna be crazy now😊
I hate this dismissive attitude towards opening memorization. How is it so different to pattern memorization, which is really the soul of the game? Do you think it’s easy to memorize all these lines? You make it seem as if there’s no skill to it or that it’s somehow separate from the game of chess. It’s not.
@@Tx66 I'm not against opening theory. I just said/mentioned that now it's gonna be fun to see players how they will perform without opening theory.
And also, as you said about "Do I think it is easy to memorize so many lines?", the answer is absolutely YES. These are grandmasters who have started playing chess when they were 3 or 4 years. No one can memorize better than they do. Definitely they may forget some positions at times, but OPENING THEORY IS A THING. Because they know all the variations that can arise from a particular 8 or 10 or 15 moves. They don't really need to focus about the position, they just need to recall the theory they just prepared. And that's what all the grandmasters do in their game. It's just opening preparation for every game they play. You can hear about it in almost every after game interview they give. They always say things like, "yeah, I prepared this line", " yeah, I forgot that I had to X move in that position, but I forgot", "I forgot about the move order"
These grandmasters can play blindfolded chess that too with for more than 10 boards at a single time. They can do this because they have STRONG MEMORIZATION SKILLS, which they can do because they started playing at such an early age. Kids, when they are trained to a particular thing, they can do it great. In this cases, they are trained to memorize the theory and positions.
Obviously that doesn't means they just memorize and can't play without opening theory, it's just that now it's gonna be fun to see them perform in the opening. And that's what I mentioned earlier.
@@JDBoyJD Pattern Memorization is just as easy for them then. I don’t see you hating on Pattern Memorization.
This is the best chess commentary of the year..
Good they are clarifying this up. No confusion like with wesley so last time and magnus sided with wesley then.

yes, 13:00 german time

@@chesswithsamarth1004wow 🤣🤣 good one
Castling in freestyle chess deserves a detailed explanation. Otherwise quarrels (red cards ;) are programmed.
Can the king be castling if he is checked twice?
Imagining this has nothing to do with 960 and is just general chess chat between GM's is hilarious to me
the castling mechanism is the stupidest rule in 960, I am telling that for a long time.
It is the only move in chess that is defined by the result (the resulting position of the pieces will be this) instead of the process (the pieces will move in this manner).
Let's take normal castling - the king moves 2 squares towards the rook (both in O-O and O-O-O), then the rook moves one square over the king.
I would make the castling in 960 such that: the king moves half the distance (round up) towards the rook, then the rook moves one square over the king.
This would look more natural:
- it would result in normal castling, if the king and rooks would start on their usual squares (distance is 3 and 4, so it would move 2 squares in both cases)
- when they are the same distance as in normal castling, just shifted, the resulting position would be also shifted the same way (K on a3 and R on a6 would result in K on a5 and R on a4
- when K and R are next to each other, they would simply swap places (distance 1, half of it rounded up is 1)
- when the K and R are far away, they would come to the middle (R on a1, K on a7 would result in Ka4,Ra5),
it looks perfectly natural, they come closer together. no funny stuff like now when they sometimes go to the other side of the board...
Edit: also, it would result in more different positions... sometimes the 960 transposes to "normal-looking position" too early
PS: the thumbnail looks like there is Gilderoy Lockhart next to Magnus
What about if the King starts on g1 and the Rook on f1. Can you pass a move by castling?
The king has to start between the rooks so if the king is on g1 then it would do long castling with the f1 rook.
I don't feel what Ding feels, but I can't sense his presence. Magnus is overshadowing him, and Ding must do something extraordinarily brilliant to announce his presence.
Oo stfu he is comfortable and he just likes playing . there's no need for him to unnecessarily prive his worthy tittle ..not everyone is insecure as you sir
Let them live
Magnus always has strong presence even before he was a world champion, people already talked about him all the time
He said you can castle on the first move... How??
Next time carlsen invites Wei Yi
How brilliant must that guy be at chess.. If the g.o.a.t of chess is learning the rules from him

DIng is thinking - Well, I can always do my "immortal Ding walk", why to bother about castling.
Meanwhile me who knows nothing about chess :what c1 f1 wait wait what is going on ?
Castling confusion can be fixed by keeping the rooks and king in the classical squares. We can still randomize the knights, bishops and the queen. There should be enough randomness.
Ding just wants to leave 😂
The collective brain power in this room is enough to run a power plant.
