People should try to make new open world games for these old machines, for those who are unaware, vintage hardware sometimes gets new games from passionate fans. They sometimes discover even more tricks to push antiquated computers/consoles to heights that were never seen in their heyday. Hate to report that sprite based machines get a lot more love than early 3D.
I remember driver 2 that I tried to get to the city in the background as a child hahah, plus the shadow of the character holds a gun it seems, I loved that game searching for the secret cars in havana

@2:39 did robin just blow up a van by running into it with a motor cycle... the world of physics is crazy. I didn't know body harvest was ever released?
Cool, but this video could have used some voice over explaining a bit of each game. Also, you got too caught up in the city/car concept. There are so many more out there. You forgot other genres such as RPG (where is Elder Scrolls?), shooters (where is Operation Flashpoint? It has vehicles too). Or flight simulators (anyone remember A-10 Cuba?)
They could've easily done it like Urban Chaos. The world is pure darkness in the distance, until you keep moving forward and suddenly crash into a wall. I personally think it contributed to the overall dark atmosphere the game had though, and gave the feeling that the map was bigger.

Yea Shenmue or Daggerfall, which, if I'm not mistaken, is still the largest non-procedurally created open world map ever made.
Daggerfall is an rpg, and shenmue is mostly an adventure divided in open areas. But i agree that it could be included without a problem.

The draw distance would've been awful, though. You'd only be able to see about a block ahead of you.
