Oh my goodness Roz, what a hidden gem, Mt. Ive Station is ... thank you Universe. It sure is a great place to visit and explore that's for sure, I have added it to my To Do List. Stay Safe. Hugs from the HatMan.
I have a photo at that Submarine around 13 years ago “ didn’t know about that Station , will have to stay their on my trip over west .ThT would be a great 👍 place for a bike Rally etc .
They’ve only done the station up for Accomodation in the past couple of years and continue to renovate as we speak. Yep would be an awesome spot for a bike rally indeed! 😁👍🏁🏍💨
Roz has a new Scorpion helmet. Different helmets really cause noise... or really reduce it. (Have never had a Scorpion helmet so I dunno if that's the issue.) Maybe a new windshield too, it looks like it diverts air right to the chin area of the helmet. Pretty common on dual-sport bikes.
Yep it’s shit. The Scorpion helmet was the first I used and never had wind noise but it’s this new screen with its shit angle. I rushed to put it on before leaving as I ran out of time to make custom adjustable brackets. Will fix it once I get back. Yep, it’s bloody horrible and makes me cringe! 😖😫🤷🏻♀️😂
I never go lower than 20/20 even in deep sand. For dirt roads like that, I’ll run 20 in the front & 24 in the rear. If I’m lazy and can’t be bothered inflating at the end of the trail, and the trail is good dirt, I’ll run 24 in the front & keep the rear at road pressure 32. Never had a pinch flat ever. Only ever had 1 flat in 100,000kms now and that was a tiny rusty nail in the rear on a remote logging track in Tassie.

Roz, what tyre pressures do you run on those dirt roads on the 300? Yes I realize you run a 120/90-18 instead of the 120/80-18.
