Этот музыкант своим искусством всегда возвращает меня в нормальное человеческое состояние. И снова хочется любить и жить. Спасибо тебе, Джошо Стефан! Ты не зря явился в этот Мир.
what an interesting composition of instruments in a quartet, i love to see quartets stray away from the traditional: drums, bass, piano, horn player format, and is super nice to see super interesting instruments you usually dont get the pleasure of seeing play together!
And, don’t overlook the profound artistry - the dedication, the hours, days, years - of the musicians! The guitar doesn’t play itself! Heartfelt thanks, gentlemen, all 4 of you, for bringing this celestial music to us!
I loved it all, but, MAN, this level of audiophile quality recording of a concert is mind-blowing !! ... Many thanks ... And that bass solo, so clear and that mic placement on the bass bridge is genius !!
I enjoy this softer, more intimate side of Joscho. Sometimes his melodic sense and musicality can get obscured in endless flurries of notes - not that there's anything wrong with that sometimes!
I agree. Joe Bonamassa, Molly Tuttle, Tommy Emmanuel are a few examples of my favorite guitarists that have matured as musicians. Obviously time has made them better but their phrasing has become more thoughtful and personal much like that of a singer interpreting/reinterpreting songs. I'm an very average guitar player that loves to improvise. I think a lot about becoming "fluent" in guitar much like being fluent in a language. To know the sound I need to play like I know the words I need to speak to express myself. I may never get there but inspiration like this makes the journey enjoyable.
I'm pretty sure it's just the popular thought that slower means more thoughtful/soulful/heartfelt. But I understand why people would think that it's maturity, we tend to naturally think that slower paced music has that special mojo to it sometimes. I think joschos phrasing in any songs he plays are extremely coherent and well thought just like here. Maybe I'm one of those few that see the "flurries" as something just as soulful as the gentle stuff. Either way, I'm just glad he's got more listeners from all over the place. This is the beauty of music. This is just my opinion in the end, and you've obviously got every right to deliberate about music how you please, that's what makes music what it is, through different thoughts and experiences coming together. Much love, didn't mean to sound scornful or otherwise negative, just sharing my personal opinion on the views of "feel," soul, and whatever else haha hope you have a good day my friend!
@@paulashton7207 Tommy has a recent video with Rick Beato where he talks about practicing a song so obsessively that he can forget all about how he's _playing_ it and can focus completely on how the song _feels_ . That's the level of dedication it takes to be able to truly interpret a song in the perfect way in any given moment. He says it's not even music to him until he has completely mastered the skill of playing the song, which is necessary before he can start playing it his way, with his own personality and feel.
I thank you, gentlemen, with every fiber of my being. That was the most delicious piece of music I have ever heard. Each of you are true masters of your chosen instruments and play them with what appears to be such ease. Effortless...however I know the amount of time and talent required. Thank you Joscho, Matthias, Sven, and the coolest dude on the planet Volker. Blessings from Kansas~
Wow, what a beautiful & delightful tune & surprise upload to wake up to on this Friday morning. I really love how Volker had like his own solo where you could literally hear his jamming out on his Chellow. So pretty gentleman, & I've had a rough last 24 hours so Thank you!
Wyżyny wirtuozerii i dobrze pojętego profesjonalizmu, uczta duchowa, dziękuję za piękną muzykę. Django Reinhardt patrzy na was z nieba i się uśmiecha. Joscho to mistrz nastroju i wspaniały wirtuoz. Koledzy równie doskonali. Marimba wspaniale współbrzmi z resztą instrumentów. Dziękuję za wspaniałą ucztę duchową !
Ich bin begeistert 🤩 was für eine tolle Quadrofonie ..Gypson Satin Chery Gitarre zusammen mit Vibrafon was für wunderschöne Weiche Klangkörper , Kontrabass und Rhythmus Gitarre spielen Le Soir …you make my Day
Django Reinhardt's SEUL CE SOIR - Joscho Stephan Quartet No guitarist plays Django -inspired 'licks' like my favorite flat pick (plectrum) German jazz virtuoso - usually on the same brand of guitar (Maccaferri) that Django treasured for its unique sound. Coincidentally, I'd just been praising a young jazz guitarist in Spain for a beautiful solo on his "red Gibson ES-335 -- my favorite.” Lo and behold - a sort-of 355 replica (or hybrid) that Joscho employs to perfection. All this, with a ballad by Django I'd not heard before! How the 'Gypsy Jazz Giant' would have loved this! Permit an aside: My life-long finger-style hero Chet Atkins told me in a 1971 radio interview that “Django's was the only autograph” Chet ever sought from a musical hero. On his final visit to America (NYC) before his untimely death in 1953. This after we'd spent 20 minutes together alone and Chet noted that I'd “not asked for an autograph.” He could tell I didn't need his signature on paper, to treasure the memory for a lifetime. th-cam.com/video/eUBsNxtjIy0/w-d-xo.html
I'd just been thinking: The best vibes/guitar combination since Gary Burton and Hank Garland (the best ever?) Celebrated elsewhere [search] " Great Melody, Great Lyric, Great Rendition, Songwiting Workshop, Harmony Central "
It's nice when the musicians have fun together on stage, like Joscho and Matthias were having. This is a really charming song and so sweetly done. Thank you!
Wow! Wrapped up in this beautiful melodic piece are some ass kicking solos with the most delectable sections!, Josho's intuition and skills are unmatched! The guys all sound great. Love this!
Klasse! Tolle Performance von Allen. Joscho, ich habe den Eindruck, dass die Ansprache und der Ton mir der E-Gitarre harmonischer geworden ist, runder irgendwie, noch besser...
I'm watching/listening Joscho stuff for several years now...he is an amazing music person and off course a crazy guitar player. Every guys with him are insane.
🤩🤩🤩LOVE ANY VERSION OF THIS SONG THAT JOSCHO PLAYS--HE IS A MUSICAL MAGICIAN🤩🤩🤩WITH THAT BEING SAID, PERHAPS JOSCHO COULD COME UP WITH NEW LYRICS TO THIS SONG. THE OLD LYRICS ARE NOT FITTING FOR JOSCHO'S VERSIONS. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR SOMEONE SING WITH THE GROUP WHO COULD DO THIS SONG SOME WELL DESERVED JUSTICE🤩🤩🤩GOOD LUCK ALWAYS JOSCHO TO YOU AND YOUR TRIO🤩🤩🤩
After hearing the stupendous Jazz Club Hannover gig treatment of Autumn Leaves by Stephan and Lagrene, and reflecting upon the Jazz à Vienne 2004 - Bireli Lagrène performance of Stella by Starlight, I am absolutely convinced that anchoring a trio or quartet, Stephan and Lagrene would knock either Stella or Green Dolphin Street right into the stratosphere using hollow body electrics; or, Stephan's Telecaster and a 335 or the like and largely playing straight.
I'd just been thinking: The best vibes/guitar combination since Gary Burton and Hank Garland (the best ever?) Which is to say, thanks for your comment AaronHorvath.
The xylophone solo inspired me to tell you I NEED a cover of Neil Hefti's Lil Darlin out of THIS quartet right here. And I'll even pay for it.

Спасибо тебе, Джошо Стефан! Ты не зря явился в этот Мир.
It just looks like a bunch of people chilling along and enjoying what they're doing. That, for me is the essence of live music.
Exactly what I was about to say, This what music is about.
What a clinic of guitar style and talent on display in a single recording. Bends, slides and arpeggios are just magical
You said it. And so well -- in so few well chosen, informed and informative words. Thanks, HerbWilde

Long Live King Joscho! This is the 3rd version of his playing the same song but each of which reflects a different style! I love this bluesy version!
What a beautiful dynamic the vibraphone adds to this piece! Absolutely out of this world!
The vibraphone player effortlessly and delightfully demonstrates the skill required to join musical and percussive coordination together - wonderful
The versatility of your fingers on the guitar profoundly express what fine music a guitar can offer.
And, don’t overlook the profound artistry - the dedication, the hours, days, years - of the musicians! The guitar doesn’t play itself! Heartfelt thanks, gentlemen, all 4 of you, for bringing this celestial music to us!

These guys are the Led Zeppelin/Dire Straits/Queen versions of jazz. A true supergroup.

wonderful, joscho is at the top of the hill. bravo
Never seen so a great vibraphonist. And all others musicians , we know them, great !...Whaou !!!
Superb beyond superb 😊. Such a great augmentation to include the Vibraphone. Four masters at what they do. Django would be delighted.
335 style guitars are so excellent for jazz, and very comfortable to play on
never disapointed with such talents -
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL JOSCHO..Django will be smiling down on you 😊
Quel délice cette musicalité et les sons waouh 👏🙏 à tous pour vos sourires, la joie que vous transmettez à nous tous... 🎶💓🎶
Love the addition of the vibraphone -not the usual gypsy jazz instrument but always lovely. Also an electric guitar ..! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
this is the most comfortable and best piece of music i've ever heard. i wish i could make this live performance my home. THANK YOU!
